Grits ????
So the test for us is cooking grits in a pot that won't produce a layer of sticking grits to the bottom. Well, this is the best pot for grits I've found so far. However, it does stick and clump subtly at the crease of the pot, but once you keep whisking it in those areas, it loosens up and moves nicely. We like our grits a little stiff and thick consistency so that's probably why... But more creamy and loose grits are 95% better in this pot than any other I've tried like the Blue Diamond line. A little pricey too, but I am really starting to feel it may be worth it. I would recommend.

Second purchase
Bought the last one over five years ago, bought the second only because we are upgrading all our pots. However, this one still looks great inside (outside suffered a couple falls). It has popped popcorn hundreds of times. A very well made pan, at least for popcorn!

Great saucepan
This pan is the exact size I was looking for. I like the lid which has a section with small holes for draining liquid. That is very convenient.

Costco had this brand and Ninja set and I went with the Ninja. I felt buyer remorse so I got 1 pan and I love it. The sale was over at Costco so I am stuck with the Ninja's but this pot is awesome.

Now two of these had to be returned - see updates.
EDIT: 07/17/2016 I liked the original pan and so I ordered another one. Now the second pan is going back due to an issue with the non-stick surface. The second pan seems to have a chalky white residue inside on the sides of the pan. No amount of hand washing or drying seems to remove the residue (see pics). The non-stick surface inside on the sides of the pan feels rough compared to the surface of the saucepans that came with my Circulon Symmetry set. You can see and feel that there's something not right with the coating on the pan. Plus the first pan I had to return didn't have the rough feel like this one does. Also none of the pans in the full set I have feels rough like this either. I do a lot of rice and paste and the 3.5 size is perfect. Not sure if I'm going to get another one like this or not? Could be "third time's a charm" or "three strikes and you're out". EDIT: 07/05/2016 I just did a return for refund on the pan today 07/05/2016. I dropped this review from 5 stars down to 2 stars. The reason is that after only a couple weeks, the pan is showing signs of problems. I received this on June 23rd 2016 and I did the original review on this product around the 28th. So far this pan has been used for a couple weeks and already the non-stick coating is showing signs of coming off (see pic). Only wooden or plastic utensils were used on the pan and you can see the scratches and spots where the coating is coming off. Very disappointed to say the least as based on price this is not what I'd consider a cheap pan. I'm undecided as to whether I'll order the same pan as a replacement because a pan ought to last longer than a couple weeks. For comparison purposes I included a pic of my 10" Zwilling frypan that is over a year old. This pan gets used 5 to 6 days a week to make hash browns or sauteed veggies. Always with oil or butter added and ALWAYS on high heat. You can see it has wear but it still cooks fine. It is NOT an expensive pan as it's part of a 3 piece set that retails for $79.00. {my original 5 star review below } This review is for the following product. Circulon Symmetry Hard Anodized Nonstick 3-1/2-Quart Straining Saucepan, Black I needed a new large saucepan as my trusty 17 year old Farberware stainless 3 qt. is finally wearing out. Saw this Circulon 3.5 qt. and it looked to be perfect for my needs. I knew I wanted non-stick and a larger size for the new pan. Not because I find stainless hard to clean, but rather I wanted a pan I could just mostly wipe out and be done cleaning. Although this pan is rated for induction, I use gas so my review is based on that. This pan looks beautiful in black with the contrasting stainless handle and the stainless/glass lid. Silicone rubber covered handles on pot and lid adds a cool touch factor. The pan has pour strainers built in to the lid (which I find handy). There are two sets of strainers in the lid, a large and small set of holes on opposite sides of the lid. There are matching large and small pouring spouts built into the pan. These should cover just about any situation where you want to strain the contents. Circulon states the pan is oven safe to 400 degrees. ** One thing to note regarding the pour strainer lid. There is a small rounded over edge on the bottom of the lid rim. I can verify that a small amount of hot liquid can get trapped around inside that edge. Also I had a couple pieces of elbow macaroni get caught against that edge too. Take care removing the lid after straining to avoid the hot liquid/food splashing you. Once you’re aware of it, it’s not a big thing. That said, the first time you use it you need to be careful. Be advised that the lid does NOT lock in place so straining is a two handed affair and you need to be aware of hot steam escaping from the holes in the lid. ** Some reviewers mentioned that the pan is heavy. It’s pretty beefy but I don’t find it overly heavy. The empty weight on my Farberware Classic 3 qt. pan with lid is 2 lbs. 1.2 oz. The weight on the Circulon is 3 lbs. 7.4 oz. so yes it’s heavier but I’m also comparing a 3.5 qt. pan to a 3 qt. Loaded with food or liquid the Circulon will be a beast. Other reviews mention boiling water seems to take longer with this pan. Personally I find that “a watched pot never boils” but for those inquiring minds who want to know, here you go. These are the unscientific results of my boil water test. I used 6 cups water with a teaspoon of kosher salt added on the largest burner of my Bosch range with the pan lids off. My trusty Farberware 3 qt. took a surprising 7:04 minutes to reach just shy of a rolling boil. The Circulon did the task in 5:09 minutes and was heavily boiling by that time. YMMV though. Cooking is a breeze with this pan. Pasta, rice, soups, sauces all cooked evenly. I couldn’t detect any hot spots in the pan. To test clean up I made a big batch of white rice and also Kraft mac ‘n’ cheese. After the family devoured the food, I let the pan sit for an hour before washing it. The pan was a simple wipe a couple times with sponge and warm soapy water and rinse. Boom clean! Way too easy. In closing let me say that the final opinion on this pan really comes from my Wife. She used the pan all weekend making various stuff. I’m not sure what she was cooking but when I hear……….. “I love this pan” coming from the kitchen, well that says it all. Wanted to mention that I love this pan and will end up getting the full 11 piece cookware set here from Amazon as they have the best price.

Bought this for a new induction stove to hold a vegetable steamer and cook pasta, potatoes etc. It works great and is easy to use and clean

maybe not the best pots on gas range.
love the pots, just now think they are not the best on a gas range because of what is happening to mine. the coating peals off on the side of the pan when used on my gas stove. They were great, now using gas range and following directions for low flame and still the lower sides are getting small lines from the heat.
