Breaks consistently after 12-18 months of use

This is my third Garmin 920xt band. Purchased as a replacement in April 2019; failed as pictured July 2020. I love the watch, which has held up for several years now under 9-15 hours a week of serious swimming, cycling, and running in Hawaii's hot and humid climate, but the band is garbage. I could buy a number of watches for less than the cost of the replacement band, and the band would last longer, with watch included. Garmin, if you're going to make a premium product and charge premium prices, please make sure you don't include a piece that consistently falls apart once a year. If I can't get Garmin to send me my fourth replacement band for free, I'll be looking for a knockoff replacement. Seems to me it can't be any worse than the OEM piece. Update: even though it was outside the warranty, Amber at Garmin support is sending me a replacement strap for free. Thanks Garmin! I'm adding a star for good service. Unfortunately, there's no other Garmin alternative to this inferior strap, so I expect the next one to flap around while swimming and break after a year or so, just as the last three have. I will also order a more durable knockoff version for when that happens. I'm viewing it as a frequent wear item and maintenance expense, one that' you'll want to keep an extra on hand, like inner tubes.

Perfect replacement

I have loved my Garmin for 5 years and it is still working great, the back just broke. I have done several triathlons (one Ironman) swam and ran hundreds of miles, biked thousands with this watch. I was thrilled to be able to replace the band (took about 1 minutes to do). Back to training.

Exact replacement yet pricy

Easy to install with the provided tools. Second time I’ve had to replace these bands so value us not great. Kind of pricey too.

Does it’s job

I got my Garmin 5-6 years ago. This is my fourth band. I wear it everyday 24/7. I get about 15 months of wear before it breaks. I’ve tried copies but I don’t like them as much.

Came with all the tools needed and fit perfectly

My Garmin 920xt watch band broke, and this replaced it perfectly. It was nice that it came with all the tools needed to replace the band. I had initial difficulty getting my old band out but my husband replaced it easily.

Garmin Straps do not last - But as good as they get

I have had my Garmin for years, but I accept that I have to replace the strap every 14 / 16 months or so. They all fall apart. They just fail in an instant. The strap is good, seems to be a genuine Garmin product. Easy to connect and comes with the pins and the two small bespoke screwdrivers for the job. A bit expensive for a single strap.

So pleased to find this strap

Well pleased, my Garmin watch is well over 6 years old, strap loop finally gave way & I thought I would have to upgrade the watch. I was very pleased & surprised to find new straps available online, cheap & easy to fit! Very happy!

Garmin band replacement - good replacement product

Worked like a charm! It even came with the little tool to replace it. I wouldn’t have thought about that part until after I was trying to replace it.
