Yes, cheaply made and rubbery and wads up and kind of uncomfortable...but I am 8 months pregnant and my SI joint finally, after a lot of trouble, just gave out. I found myself unable to walk at all and had a terrifying afternoon of creeping along walls and hopping. While waiting to get back into physical therapy (she had recommended trying this, but trying to put it off as long as possible in order to not lose muscle tone because of the belt doing the work instead of pelvic girdle muscles), I ordered this with fast shipping and as soon as I got it on really tight, I could WALK!. Yes, it got uncomfortable at the grocery store on the bottom of my bump etc, but still, the difference between being able to turn over in bed, sit up or down, or walk versus doing none of those things...well, indescribable. The key is that the belt buckle thing works as a pulley/lever so you can cinch it really tight enough to hold the bones in place. My suggestion would be to try where you lie on your side and have someone try to push the SI joint back together - if that relieves your pain, this is basically like having someone apply that much force while you are upright. By the way, I measured hips at about 40-41 inches. I'm 5'1" about 128 lbs pre-pregnancy, probably 150 now, and this fit me in medium. Sizing appears accurate. I also worried about someone saying that curves mess it up but I'm pretty curvy and it was fine. Loses one star for the quality, but OMG totally does the job.

Works at first
In the begging this worked amazingly after a while the grey clip kept sliding and my belt wouldn’t stay in place! It relived the pain while doing chores but it not staying in place was an inconvenience. I do not recommend this product unfortunately.

I want to love this belt, but it tears my skin
There is so much to love about this belt. It's the first SI belt that's ever stayed in place through the night for me (I toss and turn a lot). It is well-made and fits petite frames like mine, where other belts would be too wide. It's got a relatively low profile — not the thinnest material out there but close — so it doesn't announce itself through most clothing. And did I mention how well it stays in place? The problem I've had is actually that it stays in place a little too well...to the point where it actually tears my skin. It basically gave me pressure sores from the friction and pressure of it against my skin. And you know what? I kept wearing it! But my PT made me stop bc of the damage it kept causing to my skin. Now, hopefully that won't happen to you. I hear the same company that makes this belt also sell special shorts you can wear under the belt without the belt slipping. But when I checked they were ~$75, which I thought was obscene. With that said, when I tried wearing the belt over other clothing items, like underwear, it wouldn't stay put. So maybe I should look into the shorts again at some point. For now, I'm using a different belt.

Really helps !!
I was having some issues with sciatic pain down my right leg; it didn't seem to be a back issue. My theory was an SI. I had tried heat, ice, rubs and it would help for the short term, but my symptoms continued. After three weeks I figured I should see a MD. I knew a doctors visit would probable lead to an xray, mri and PT...$$$$$ ! I bought this belt as a last resort to try. After about a week sleeping with this on, I noticed a huge difference. I was able to get a good nights rest without waking multiple times a night in pain. I was sleeping with out ice or heat for the first time in weeks. After wearing this a couple weeks to bed and my daytime symptoms were pretty much gone. I think my issue was acute sacroiliitis that flared up after increasing my evening walking distance. I decided to start wearing the belt on long walks to help prevent the problem again. The belt stays in place well with normal walking, I haven't tried in on hike or more intense walking situations yet. So far the pain hasn't returned.

Good Sacroiliac Belt
I am a physical therapist and as well as a person with SI joint pain. I own and use both this belt and the SI loc belt. This will not eliminate SI joint pain but will noticeably reduce it. I find this belt to be more effective, but less comfortable than the SI loc belt. It has very effective non-skid pads that keep it from riding up, but the pads dig in. The other belt is wider and better padded, but more inclined to ride up. I wear this belt on the really bad days and the SI loc on the less bad days. I also have the optional pad sold separately, which I found to be of very little use. Two side notes. This belt in size medium runs smaller than the SI loc in size small-medium so choose your size carefully. This product's label says that it contains latex. I don't know about the other one.

Keeps my pelvis fairly stable
I bought this belt on the recommendation of my physical therapist - I'm 25 weeks pregnant and have been having SI pain since about 16 weeks. I'm an RN so I'm on my feet all the time at work, helping patients get in and out of bed, scooting them up in bed, etc. The belt as definitely helped, though I wouldn't say it's a fix-all. I still have some pain, but I do feel like my pelvis is more stable than it was. Down side is that the belt does tend to ride up after awhile. As a pregnant woman, it's also mildly annoying that I have to undo the belt every time I go to the bathroom (which is often), but the belt has to go that low or it wouldn't be effective. So overall it's a pretty good temporary fix.

Back to the Belt
Easy to place, comfortable fit. Haven't had it long enough to fully judge effectiveness for SI joint pain, but seems to offer good back stability. Only negative is that it is made with materials containing latex - avoid if you have a significant latex allergy.
