Incredible value, comparable to Snap-on at a fraction of the cost
This GearWrench 40 piece Ratcheting Screwdriver Set is truly an incredible value for the money. I've had a trio of Snap-On ratcheting soft grip screwdrivers for a year or more now and use them pretty much daily at work. I love them. I figured I'd grab this GearWrench set if nothing else just for the extra interchangeable 1/4" square drive and flexible shafts that I can use with my Snap-ons and I'd be able to check out the ratcheting handles while I'm at it. I'm really surprised at just how nice these GearWrench handles are, especially considering the fact that this set comes with three ratcheting handles (stubby, standard, tee) and comes with a wider selection of interchangeable shafts than Snap-on even offers yet the whole set cost me less than even just the stubby Snap-on Ratcheting Screwdriver did by itself. As far as the handles go they feel pretty similar in the hand with a few minor differences. The Snap-ons are just a tad heavier, their shape seems to offer a little bit better grip to my hands, and the interchangeable shafts fit a little tighter. If I lightly shake a Gearwrench back and forth in my hand I can hear and feel the shaft wiggling just a little, whereas the Snap-ons have very little if any such play. Also, the knurling on the Snap-on shafts is finer offering plenty of grip but slightly less abrasive feeling than knurling on the GearWrench shafts. That's a pretty petty difference though. Just the fact that the Snap-on and Gearwrench shafts are interchangeable with each other expanded my ratcheting screwdriver capabilities quite a bit. I've already made use of the square drive and flexible shafts on several occasions. The GearWrenches all have a very smooth 45 fine tooth very similar to the Snap-on 5-position screwdriver. The Snap-on stubby and standard handles are 26 tooth. I really like the finer teeth as it makes it feel like you are getting slightly more rotation with each turn, but only time will tell how well the finer teeth hold up. The added convenience afforded by a finer tooth ratcheting mechanism can mean that it's not as strong or last as long but so far I have to say they have been working like a dream. There is one main difference though that I didn't even notice at first, but the direction you turn the selector is opposite. With the Snap-on if I turn the selector clockwise the shaft is set to drive clockwise, in the same direction as the arrow on the handle. With the GearWrenches if I turn the selector clockwise the shaft is set to drive counterclockwise, opposite the arrow. The Snap-on's seem more intuitive, and I find myself taking an extra second or two to verify/adjust the selector with the GearWrenches. Another difference is is in how the end bit-storage caps fit onto the standard-size handles. The Snap-on's have just a 1/8 turn standard lefty-loosy / righty-tighty, whereas the GearWrench locks the cap when you turn in either direction and it must be positioned to the center to remove. This is likewise just a little more awkward than it is with the Snap-ons. With the GearWrench I find myself wanting/needing to look at the little notches in the handle and cap to line them up to remove the cap , but with the Snap-ons I could do it blindfolded all day long. All in all, yeah, the USA-made Snap-Ons are a little better in most aspects, but only at several times the cost. Heck, you'd be lucky to pick up just one used Snap-on ratcheting soft grip screwdriver for what this entire set currently costs. I'm VERY glad I picked up this set. I have to believe you will be too.

Great replacement for Snap-On
One of my kids left my garage door open one night and I had over $1000 worth of tools stolen. Since I am not a professional mechanic any more, I didn't want to pay tool truck prices to get some of my favorite tools back. I figured for the price i would give this Gearwrench set a try. I AM SO GLAD I DID! There are several things about these that I prefer over my Snap-On ratcheting screwdrivers. I found that the end cap of my Snap-On soft grip handles would come off if I ever had to "lean into" the screwdriver to get it to grip into older screws and the hard plastic Snap-On handles would bruise my palm if doing the same thing. The Gearwrench handles don't have that problem. The shape of the Gearwrench handles is better ergonomically in my opinion, however i do find that I prefer the smaller handle over the larger (ie "standard sized") handle. I feel like the larger handle is just a little too long compared to the Snap-Op handle that I had gotten used to over the past 20-ish years. One thing that I had never gotten used to was the direction of the ratchet selector on the Snap-On. In 20 years I don't think i ever selected the right direction the first time (except maybe by accident). The Gearwrench selector just seems to work the right way in my opinion. I do love the fact that i can still use a 1/4 inch socket extension in place between the handle and the screwdriver shank to give me extra length if I need it. If I had it to do over again, I would DEFINITELY buy these screw drivers and save myself several hundred dollars.

The pros are obvious. There are a couple of cons though.
The pros of the set are obvious, so there is no use mentioning those. Let's talk about a couple of cons then. The straight handle appears to have been designed for a giant. The T-shaped one is a little too thick to use comfortably. Even the stubby handle is not as stubby as you might think. The direction of revolving contradicts the arrows. On the whole though, it is a very well made set, and the price (it was about $55 for the 40-piece version when I bought it) seems quite sensible.

Decent screw driver
Decent screwdriver but shaft has more than expected looseness

Nice set
It’s a bit expensive for some screwdrivers, but the flexible 1/4” socket driver and flex bit driver are worth it. You get 3 ratcheting handles (T handle, stubby and regular size). Feels like quality to me. I normally use snap on tools at work, and I’m now using these at work. Great product!

Great set.
Only way I would improve on it is more teeth in the ratchets but they are plenty good. And I wish they had a neat bit management system like the LTT screwdriver. Great value, and snap on-esque quality. Love the different extensions and bendy ones too. When you need it, you NEED it.

Not magnetic bits.
This is a great ratcheting screwdriver set and a quarter of the price if not less than the equivalent snap-on set. I would have given it 5 stars but the bits are not magnetic which it said they were and was one of the selling points for me. The only other thing is I wish it had Robetson bits instead of flat head bits because those are basically useless bits. Overall good quality, nice ratcheting action, great case and well worth the price. I would recommend this to anyone for around the house or in the shop.

Good kit for the money
Good kit for the money. The ratcheting system sometimes jams. Would recommend for light use/household. Stick with snap on/mac if you're a pro.
