Necessary for Brake Drum Repairs
I was changing out the brake drums on my 2001 Honda Cr-V (CRV) and FOR THE LOVE OF ALL THAT IS HOLY, if you plan on doing this, and don't want to end up bald, please please PLEASE do yourself a favor, and get this tool for the large return spring. Using regular pliers or a drum brake hook, that spring is very difficult (near impossible) to put back on, but with this tool, it only took me maybe 15 seconds. The variety I used was the Channellock 748 8-Inch Long Reach End Cutting Pliers. It must be the "END CUT" version. You essentially use it as a closed "hook" for the curved part of the spring. The regular drum brake spring hook tool (found in drum brake tool kits) was too large and cumbersome. Really just save yourself the aggravation and have it already in hand when you try to do this! I hope this helps someone in the future.

l'^_^'l Precision and quality at a very fair price '^_^' '^_^' '^_^' '^_^'
I have had the Channellock tool for several months and use it for most fine gauge and also some medium gauge wire cutting, primarily 22ga, Cat5e-Cat7 (including single strand snips) solid and stranded copper up to 14 gauge. Clean, accurate cuts every time. + vs - + Professionally machined and finished. + Everything aligns, blades are sharp. + The pivot is a bit tight (I prefer this). + They nip and cut fine to medium gauge wire beautifully. + comfortable and ergonomic + Compact and light weight - No significant fault ======= If you need a tool of this design the Channellock is a no brainer. IMO this Channellock costs more than many other brands but they are a bargain for those who want high quality professional grade tools that will last for generations. '^_^' '^_^' '^_^' '^_^'

Great as a spring puller
Works great, I use it at work for brake springs, throttle cable springs, and pedal springs. I have yet to use it as a end nipper for wire. but for all the above it does a great job. I just wish channellock would show some pride in their stuff and stamp their name on it, rather than the lame laser etching. But hay it is still made in the USA!

Disappointing performance but works I guess
At almost $40, I really expected these to perform better. I bought them to cut wiring harness zipties on semi trucks, but it takes a lot of hand effort to get them to cut through. They will cut, but it feels like you're squeezing the life out of them to get them to snip. Maybe I'm using them for the wrong application, maybe they would do better with something like a copper wire. I bought them solely to cut plastic zipties and, in my opinion, they fall short of that requirement. I had also purchased another well known brand at the same time that outperformed the channel locks, no competition. So yes, they will cut zipties, but disappointingly so.

Unique pliers helpful for many things
I used to have these pliers but lost them a few years ago. I had looked at all hardware and tool sellers and could not find the same anywhere. When I found them here I was excited so I ordered them immediately. Arrive next day and work perfectly. Use them particularly for removing tense clips on gear shafts, but because of the tip design they are usefully for many things. Says they are American made so that is an extra bonus. Great quality, bought another pair to have as a spare.

Amazing
I was amazed that it was not even polished. Amazing. Anyways, the tool has good cutting edge and smooth action. No wiggle on the pivot that could misalign the cutting edge. BUT, the tool was not polished with lots of sharp corners. I have to de-horn the tool before I actually started using it at work. Expensive.

Fantastic for drum brake springs and cutting cable ties
I purchased these after watching many videos recommending these for automotive drum brake springs, and they indeed get the job done amazingly. I've used curved picks, flat head screw drivers, needle nose pliers, and dikes/diagonal cutters to install the springs before. These pliers do a far better job, and without marring the springs. They also work great when cutting cable ties flush, especially at weird angles that dikes won't fit. But for wider cable ties I either have to cut them twice, or twist the tie until it completely breaks (not wide enough). I highly recommend these.

An excellent tool to have!
Have been buying these for the last 25-yrs and now have a set for the shop, home Utv & truck. Excellent for pulling body panel clips on ATV's & Utv's compared to the other garbage out there. A brand name and a great addition to any toolbox!

Poor finish
The pair I received had a terrible surface finish, the head was very rough and unfinished. The blades were ok, they functioned fairly well but I returned them. Might have been a bad batch, the quality was much lower than my other Channellock products.

Good
I was expecting more from this one. The size and shape is exactly what I was looking for. Buttt, cutting performance is week even for tie wraps and small gauge wires!! It struggles cutting them completely in first push! Update: may 10th :The flush cut that I bought first, is a bit flimsier so after losing it I gut the diagonal cut head.overall there is nothing better than this in the market for its shape, usage and quality. That's why I bought this twice.

Terrible, waste of money.
Absolutely terrible product. I'm an electrician, use cutters everyday, I bought these to flush cut zip ties. They struggle to even do that! You have to squeeze way too hard to even cut a zip tie and they don't even go completely flush. Terrible value for the money, channellock has yet again dropped the ball, very dissatisfied.
