It's plastic not metal, but that's ok

I would rate it at 5 stars, but who reads 5 star reviews? It's a good vacuum head, it is plastic e but that fine by me. Somewhat of an off white color so should not mark like the black one I had. Soft bristles and moves easily over the floor and seems to work better on small rugs than my old one. Took longer to get than most Prime items, but I knew that when I ordered. Worth 5 stars

Replacement for poorly desiigned Nutone floor brush

Have Nutone central vac system fot 13 years. Floor brush bristles wore out and Nutone doesn't sell replacement bristles, even though original brush was engineered for replacement bristles. Bought their new combo floor and rug brush from them which was a disaster. Has hard plastic wheels which scratch and scuff my Century prefinished hardwood floors.(Poor American design coupled with cheap Chinese manufacturing).Was uneasy about cheap price of Centac 34905 brush. After 3 months of use I can make the following comments. 1. The brush fits snugly to my Nutone wand by friction fit. The neck of the brush does not extend to the metal button of the wand. So far it has not come off or rotated. If it should the neck of the brush can be notched with a drill . 2. The neck articulates better than my overpriced Dyson combo brush. 3. The bristles are natural and soft. The brush rides on the bristles and leaves no marks on the floor.Hard nylon bristles on other brands can scratch hardwood floors. 4.Other reviewers were concerned over the short row of bristles on the front row, creating a large opening and lowering velocity and suction power. Not a problem with central vac system. Also, angle of wand narrows opening when vacuuming.Also allows debris to enter suction zone without it being pushed forward.Great against baseboards, because opening closed when abutting. 5.Plastic construction is non-marring

High Quality Floor Brush

Cen-Tec Systems 34905 Hard Floor Vacuum Brush – fits 1.25-inch (32 mm) wands. This 12-inch wide, solidly constructed floor brush is the highest quality floor brush I've found. The front natural bristles (3/8-inch long) are shorter than the side and rear bristles (5/8-inch long). The 1/4-inch gap lets the brush trap sand and debris that would otherwise be pushed away or passed over by other style floor brushes. The product description says the Cen-Tec brush is Made-in-America, and it certainly appears to be high quality. It weighs about 12 ounces. The long natural bristles are soft and densely packed. It performs perfectly on my tile and hardwood floors. For comparison, I purchased a different style floor brush at the same time, Eastvita® 1 & 1/4 inches (32 mm) Deluxe Floor Brush, about $8.00 from Amazon Prime. The Eastvita® has a plastic wheel on each side to keep the brushes from contacting the floor as much, and it has open notches in the front bristles (think Jack-o'-lantern teeth) to allow grit to get under. I don't like the Eastvita® nearly as well. The rollers make a plasticky clatter sound on hardwood floors and tile, the bristles are stiff and short, and overall it's not as heavy-duty and high quality feeling (weighs about 5 ounces less) compared to the Cen-Tec systems 34905 brush.

Not what is pictured

What I received was not what was pictured. The brush was black with a grey bumper around it and it was hard plastic. I want what was described in the picture. Do you carry what you are advertising because that is not what I got. :(

Works really well

I'm happy with this. I ordered it first and they shipped it to the wrong place of the country, so had to order it again; bad Amz but the product is great. My old one had a narrow slit and so hair and filth got stuck all the time. This one has a wider slit and also the whole thing is wider, which means going only once over each step of the stairs - what a bonus! Suction power, of course, depends on your vacuum, not on your brush.

We ordered this fairly quickly as the dog had chewed the top of our other one. We do like this and it’s very durable. It doesn’t fit perfectly to our vacuum but it still works well. I would recommend this to any central vac owner

Impressed!

It is SO much better than my old one. My only complaint would be that the bristles are soft, so if you are just doing a quick small carpet, it doesn't "scrub" it off - but that is not what it is meant for, so no demerits on it!
