Great support for bjj
I twisted my ankle while rolling. Its a little tight to put on but honestly it provides excellent support. You have to get used to taking it off too as it is on fairly tight.

Don’t believe the size chart
According to their chart, I should wear a Large but two purchased locally were way too small and were returned. Ordered the Extra Large which was nearly impossible to pull on and cut off my circulation (I do not have any circulation disorders). Tried to return but have to go through McDavid website. Cannot return through Amazon. CS states they are shipped with a return label inside the package but there was not one found. Frustrating. Waiting for an answer through McDavid CS.

Excellent moderate support and all-day comfort
The McDavid 432 ankle brace with strap offers excellent moderate support for moderate ankle sprains. It is a little more difficult to get on and off than other braces that only have straps; however, the additional support of a sleeve + straps is well worth it. When I saw my physiatrist (rehab doctor), he was quite pleased with this brace for my ankle sprain. This is also quite comfortable, so that I could wear it all day, and sleep in it, too, when my ankle sprain was at its worst. However, I had to loosen the laces on my tennis shoes, and would not have been able to wear dress shoes with this brace on. I am a woman of medium build, shoe size 7, and I ordered a small, which worked well for me. This brace has been durable, although after months of use, the material is looking worn because of the Velcro. However, the Velcro still works quite well. Over 7 months, I have tried 6 different ankle braces. For comparison, the Neo-G brace offers moderate support and is otherwise my go-to brace because of comfort, support and ease-of-use (no tight sleeve to pull up). The ASO stabilizing orthosis and Swede-O easy lok adjustable ankle brace were also uncomfortable, rubbing in the wrong places, although the most supportive. The OTC ankle support brace with wraparound strap was a disappointment; it was too large to offer an support, although I ordered a small. The Bracoo ankle brace was lightweight and comfortable, but offered minimal support, so that it did not work well enough for my moderate ankle sprain.

I recommend them highly
The supports work very well with my weak ankles. I recommend them highly. The only advice I would offer is to order one or two sizes larger than the sizing chart notes. If you have a high instep and wide feet, I would go two sizes larger. I ordered one size larger (I wear a size 8-8 1/2 wide shoe), but ordered a medium based on other reviews--that was far too small. These must be sized for extremely small people. I could barely get them across my foot and instep even after wrestling with them for five minutes and when I walked in them I had horrible pain in the soul/arch area of my feet. I should have know better and used my intelligence when I struggled to get them on, but since they are supposed to fit snuggly, I assumed all was OK. Not so...not at all. I have reordered a large and hope they work better. More later...if they don't help.

This ankle compression wrap gives medium to strong strong support.
Suggestion they should make a XX Large

Semi Effective for Stupidity
I'm Russian. We're good at many things - Math, chess, alcoholism, etc. Unfortunately "common sense" and "caution" were deemed unecessary for the list. Either that, or we had them but long since drank them away. In any case, after a minor ankle sprain, I decided to try plowing through it and make my ankle "man up," hoping it would come out stronger (and also punishing it for letting me down). This, apparently, is the wrong approach. Two weeks and a limp later, I decided to finally apologize and invest in one of these. Now the ankle's still not at 100%, probably due to me giving it 0 time off (forgot to add stubborn to the list), but thanks to this wrap and a steady diet of Ibuprofen it finally seems to be improving. Moral of the story: If you sprain your ankle and for god knows what reason you refuse to give it a week off, buy one of these or you'll end up in a wheelchair. And pregnant, probably.

Support, but no more.
First, I wear a size 13 shoe, and the Large Strap fits good. I'd rather have it snug, than loose, especially in a shoe. I'm 30 now and play basketball on the weekends. I grew up playing a soccer, basketball, and a lot of other sports and my ankles are definitely the weak points on my body. I started wearing these because my ankles were a little sore from playing ball and figured the support would help without hindering movement. It took one week and I came down wrong and suffered a pretty good inversion sprain, while wearing the brace. The kind where you hear the ligaments popping. Moral of the story is, these are great for casual use: walking, day-to-day stuff, maybe even light jogging where there is minimal risk of rolling, but these ARE NOT FOR HIGH SPEED, COMPETITIVE SPORTS. I've since went with the ASO Speed Lace Evo's and they are awesome. I still keep these on days where I'm sore but just going to be around the office, but have retired them from my gym bag. So I gave them a 3, but perhaps I was using them incorrectly to begin with...

Great for everyday wear!
I tore 2 ligaments in my left ankle and had surgery to repair them in 2010. The ankle never healed and I must wear a brace everyday of my life. This brace makes it possible to wear many shoe types, is lightweight and helps keep the ankle compressed without lots of bulk. I like the new more breathable fabric. I just wish they could make a strap that helps me pull the brace off. Its very tight and compressed so pulling it off is difficult but Im glad its strong to hold my ankle in place without the bulk.

Tried to play basketball with it. Found it uncomfortable . I think the sizing chart they gave was wrong and the large size I got to small for my size 13 feet

However it is the best ankle support I have come across in many years
Having read other reviews, I ordered a medium size whereas I normally would have gone for small. The medium is almost too big, the fit isn't quite as snug as I would have wished. Having said that, the cross-strapping provides tremendous support even if I have had to adjust my footwear to accommodate the increased bulk around my ankle. However it is the best ankle support I have come across in many years.

miracle cure?, not. Support? Yes
Broke my ankle last year.... by the end of the days it feels sore and tired like I need to sit down and get off it for awhile. Got this ankle support and it's like a miracle of God, I can walk all day no problem but by the end of the days it feels sore and tired like I need to sit down and get off it for awhile. Other than that get a bigger size than you think you need, it fits tight.

Great but too small
This is a great ankle support but the small size was too small for me even though it said it was for up to size 8. So I returned it and ordered a medium size and this is perfect for my size 8 foot. The support it gives is just what I need. I broke my fibula just at the ankle joint and once the cast came off and I was eventually getting around again, this was perfect to give that extra bit of support and confidence. The wrap around strap can be made as lose or tight as you want and feels comfortable and is that bit more firm than the neoprene alone. Great buy for me.
