Worked Well -- Solid
I used these a few weeks ago to replace the front shocks on my Ford F-150. This was the first time I ever did anything this intensive on my truck. It required taking the front wheel off and having the truck rest on jack stands. Well, I could have just used the jack itself, but I'm not really someone who gambles on sucker bets. I honestly believe that jacks fail more frequently than jack stands. Oh, I also brought my cell phone with me. Something I saw on a maintenance video. The guy said that if you are pinned under the truck, you might want to call 911. He had a point. So, I lifted up the truck, took off the wheel, put one stand under in just the right spot, then lowered onto the jack stand. I needed to re-lift and re-position the stand a few times. Finally, the truck was on there SOLID. As a precaution, I put the other stand under another point under the truck. I hardly thought that the one jack stand would fail, but that V8 engine is darn heavy, and if the jack stand did fail, the second one would catch the truck and not pin me under. That was the thought anyway. Had this happened, I would have been scared not scarred. Turns out that I wasn't under the truck very often. Front shocks are a side-job. Even so, the jack stand work liked a champ. Eventually I switched to the other front wheel, and the jack stand worked as expected again. So, I am happy with them.

6 ton Jack Stands
Reviewed — 6 ton I needed some heavy duty jack stands for a Ford E350 work van that is typically fully loaded with tools. Based upon one of my buddy's recommendation, I picked up a pair of these. PACKAGING: Other reviewers have knocked a couple of stars off for the packaging. Well, its true that they come in a pretty flimsy box that is packed inside an Amazon box. The inner box had a few small holes but was still intact. And really, these brutes weigh in over 30 lbs — you have to expect that the loading monkeys aren't going to be using kid gloves on them... Mine also had a few paint scratches on them. Who cares? Its a brute tool. The first time I used them I put more scratches on them. Four stars - if the manufacturer cared if they come in all bright and shiny they should use a package that is more substantial. FIT AND FINISH: They are jack stands not aerospace widgits and they are built as such. The welds are well, welds. They aren't beautiful stacks of dimes and the manufacturer didn't spend 2 hours grinding each weld down to a pretty filet. I also haven't X-rayed them to see if there are inclusions and voids. But I don't have to. Its a brute tool. The welds look sturdy and they have held up my van and friends trucks, without even a groan. The paint, again, I wasn't looking for a Ferrari candy apple paint job with 17 clear coats, buffed and polished. They are painted, a few dings out of the box but nothing I haven't done worse through my use. 4.5 Stars. USE: If you are looking for jack stands for your car go for the 2 or 3 ton versions. The 6 ton versions are for holding up big heavy vehicles like trucks, vans, and buses not cars. Although they will easily hold up your car, you will be jacking them up 2-3 times higher than necessary. These guys have some weight to them, something in the 30 lbs range for the two of them. The ratchet gears are smooth and beefy. When lifting the post, they go up with ease and the ratchets engage with the lock/release arm without a problem. When you lift up on the release arm, the posts drop down as they should. I imagine that if I take care of them they will last me the rest of my life. 5 Stars Overall I give them a 4.5 out of 5 stars. I liked them so much, I bought a pair of the 2 ton version to use on my car.

Works great. Seems pretty well made.
Easy to pull up the leg, quick to drop it down with the quick release handle.

Decent stands for the money
When the Harbor Freight stands got recalled, it brought to light the defect extended to many manufactures. The upper part that has the jagged edges were improperly made. This model, at this time, seems to be fine. I was unable to find the old fashioned jack stands I had forty years ago, so I bought these to use for occasional use and to back up the floor jack when I get under a vehicle. The yellow color is good for safety, as it catches the eye. In my opinion, I would not trust just these jack stands if you are under a vehicle. Always have a secondary device just in case something fails.

Good height
6T is clearly overkill for most of us, but I got them because they have a good lift height, I can get my Jeep pretty high up from the axles and crawl around under it, about as high as those HF long reach floor jacks will take it. Yes they bounce around in the box during shipping and some of the paint chips at the corners and such. Are you buying these to put in a display case or what?

satisfied with purchase
have not used yet but they seem sturdy, well built and metal is thick and heavy. im not a welder but welds seem well done, no gaps or anythng like that. its for sure much more than I need as my vehicle does not weight anything near what these should support. received them promptly and apart from a few scratches no damage. and yes the paint job looks cheap as others might have noticed and is the reason for the four stars. all in all seems a good product, priced well and should last me a lifetime.

Solid Jack Stand but Arm Was Not V shaped as shown
I was looking for a V shaped head on the jack stand arm so it can fit on my Mazda 3 jack points (side of the car). The picture on the website and on the box showed a V shaped head on the arm. The V shaped head would fit into the metal slot on the underside of the Mazda 3. The flat head found on most jack stands would not work because the metal slot was very narrow and would slip on a flat head. However when I opened the box, the head of the arm was not V shaped but instead was flat. I already had a jack stand with flat head on the arm so I had to return the jack stand. Do not rely on the picture as it was not accurate.

The head of the stands are flat. Not the same as shown.
Not the same as advertised. The shape of the head is almost flat like the typical jackstands. I wanted one thats indented and a slit cut out like the picture shown, which was the only reason I ordered these. Seems to be of good quality. I had to return these as I already has 2 other sets that look the same.
