Looks great and is a good bargain if you’re willing to put the work in

I was skeptical about buying this after reading multiple negative reviews, but I decided to buy it anyways; if it was really that bad, I could just return it. The lamp shipped super fast, and it was at my doorstep less than 48 hours after ordering it (thanks Prime!!). The box was a little tattered, but no damage to the actual product. The assembly is very easy, BUT (this is a big but) with this item, it’s kind of like a “you get out what you put in” situation” The first time I put it together, I could understand why there are the negative reviews about it. The legs of the lamp didn’t look even, and the overall structure was really wobbly. I noticed that if you just screw the rods together with your hands that the shelving prevents complete threading, leaving room for the rods to rotate, become uneven, etc. Additionally, the shade was super dented. I found that these problems are fixable with a few tricks. I turned the lamp upside down and used a rubber mallet to GENTLY tap the shelves so that they didn’t interfere with the threads. Then, I rethreaded the rods, making sure that they completely lined up and were all the way tightened. This fixed the wobbliness and unevenness of the rods perfectly. For the lamp shade, I used a blow dryer (a steamer will work too) on the low-hot setting and blew air on outside of the shade for about 30 seconds. Then, I used my hands to push the dents out from the inside. Worked like a charm. Overall, I love this lamp. It is a little bit lightweight, so you do need to be careful not to knock it down, but I expected that for the price as most floor lamps that are heavyweight and super nice are $200+. With a little bit of elbow grease, this can be an awesome addition to your home! I hope this helps anyone who is having problems with the lamp or is on the fence about buying it.

Functional inexpensive lamp

Read other reviews. To some extent, you get what you pay for applies, but overall this was what I was looking for: a functional and inexpensive lamp for a room that doesn’t get much use. The shelves are handy for small, light items—in this case, making up for a lack of a nightstand. I took the advice of another reviewer and used a mallet to tap the shelves into place — and I put WD40 on all of the threads to make the legs easy to screw together. It was not a herculean effort. All parts were in the package and none of them were damaged, so I had no issues. The feet adjust to compensate for an uneven floor. Will see how it holds up.

Snazzy. high-end look for decent price

This lamp has a high-end look without the high-end price! It was easy to assemble;no tools needed. The cord is "hidden" inside one of the legs. The metal is lightweight but it feels sturdy. Perfect for a corner or non-traffic area. I love that I can use a higher wattage bulb that other lamps want allow. Be sure to read the description from the manufacturer, not just look at the pictures. The shade is is a light beige linen. It is 58 inches tall but it looks taller in the picture (that chair must have a low back!) so be sure to measure. I knew all this before I ordered and was fine with it. HOWEVER, the other dimensions were not in agreement with the description. I have a small space and I was a little concerned about the 14 inches listed as width and length. When I got the lamp assembled, the base is 10 inches square and the shade is 12 inches in diameter, not 14 inches. I was happy about the small dimensions because it fits perfectly where I wanted it. Just be aware if the smaller footprint is problematic for you. ( I gave this lamp 5 stars even with the measurement discrepancy because other reviewers marked it down because they didn't read the description and then griped about it being shorter than they wanted or complained about the shade. )

Great lamp! Shelves are so cute.

I purchased this at a discounted rate (new in box, packaging may be ripped etc) and I have to say it barely looked like anything was wrong with the package! Just some extra tape. Definitely worth saving $50 (list price was $102 and I got it for about $55 after taxes). The lamp itself is exactly what I wanted! Sturdy and cute with the shelves (I like others assembled the shelves “upside down” because I preferred the shelf like style rather than a bucket like style). Super easy to assemble (basically just screwing in legs) and had it done and ready to go in about 20 minutes. Doesn’t come with a bulb but that’s easy enough to get. I added a 75W we had, but will be getting a 3 way once this one burns out. Overall I’m very happy with my purchase and think this is a great lamp for the price, especially if you can get it discounted or on sale. Not sure I’d pay $100 for it, but was very happy with it for $55.

Slightly Overpriced

I got this for my wife for Christmas. Turns out it was her favorite gift as we had been looking for a lamp to place behind our accent chair. It was easy to assemble, but keeping the legs from wobbling does take some adjusting. Overall it has down well and comes on every time. It is a "double turn know" to come on and turn off so if that bothers you or doesn't match other lamps in your house you may want to look else where. My other lamp in the living room only has to be turned once and it took some getting used to.

High Style, Low Price

I'm very happy with the quality of this lamp for the price I paid. The lamp comes small box and must be assembled, but this is nothing more than screwing the legs together (kind of like tent poles). The frame is sturdy and well-built, and the legs each have a screw-adjustable foot so it doesn't wobble on uneven floors. The "distressed" finish is painted on but so far appears that it will withstand the test of time. The lamp takes a three-way bulb. My only complaint is that the lampshade can be sort of "wobbly" on its mount, sort of like a bobblehead. Still, I'm very happy to have scored such a stylish lamp at a solid price.

I thought the base of this lamp would be more heavy duty. it's really quite light weight, which has its advantages but it's also easily shifted with an accidental bump. It's steady though and hasn't been knocked over. The shelves are quite small and I would have preferred three, which would mean a larger lower shelf. I had planned on putting small crystal figurines on the shelves, but with the lamp being so light weight I don't think I should. A slight bump and everything would be on the floor. Still, I like the style and it gives the right amount of light for me. I don't want a bright light, just a nice warm glow through the room, bright enough to safely move around but not bright enough for reading a book.

It's a pretty lamp but honestly it's way too flimsy for the price.

As I said; pretty but flimsy. I bought another lamp for half the price at Walmart and it's way sturdier. The lamp even has stickers to say to not put anything heavier than 1lb which is really unpractical and assembling was a pain because some parts don't exactly fit together.
