Worth it.

This is a very nice, high quality box and displays my watches beautifully. A little on the pricey side, but I think quality products like this are worth paying for.

High Quality Watch Case

I purchased this watch case on the basis of the other reviews here on Amazon. As mentioned in the other reviews, it does indeed have excellent build, finish, quality, and craftsmanship. The case alone is visually stunning, and the look of your watches will be enhanced just by putting them in this watch case. My biggest watch, a 47mm Seiko Astron GPS, fits well, but I would not recommend storing any watch larger than 47mm in this case, as watches larger than this size will barely fit on the soft, plush pillows. I don't wear watches larger than 47mm, so this is not an issue for me, but it may be for those who like oversized watches. Also, depending on a watch's strap/band/bracelet, it may or may not fit snugly in each slot. For example, a heavier stainless steel watch with a stainless steel bracelet will weigh the watch down and will therefore fit better in a slot, whereas a light titanium watch with a thick rubber strap will be looser in a slot. This is generally not a problem, but the watches may move around a bit in the slot when carrying this watch case around. The interior of the case is padded fairly well, so even if your watches do move around slightly, they will be protected. This watch case also has a real glass display, as well as a lock and key. Overall, I recommend this watch case. However, there are two major drawbacks which prevented me from giving this product a 5-star review. First, you have to be careful with the lid of this case. This watch case is made of solid wood and the lid itself, with its glass viewing window, does have a healthy weight to it. It may accidentally slam down if not gently lowered, or it may accidentally slip from your fingers when raising it. If any of your watches somehow wind up on the edge/rim of the case, there is the potential that the heavy lid may slam on a watch...yikes! I wish there was some sort of spring mechanism or something to prevent any accidental lid closures. The other major drawback is the price. At the time of this writing, I paid $229 for this case. Despite the fine, quality craftsmanship, I feel that a price of $229 makes this case unnecessarily overpriced. I feel that a fair price would be around the $100 range.

Well built, Very nice!

Before purchasing this watch box I had questions I wish someone had addressed in a review. Luckily the box turned out to be everything I hoped it would be. In this review I will address the questions I had before purchasing: 1. Are the slots big enough to handle bigger watches? Yes, at least for watches 50mm or smaller. In my old case the watches bumped into each other and I had to be very careful when closing the lid. My largest watches are a 45.5mm omega planet ocean, and a 48.9mm Casio aviator, they both fit comfortably with plenty of room to spare. Every watch could be 50mm or a little larger and they would never touch. 2. Is the quality of this case worth the extra money? Yes, I am so glad I purchased this box. The fit and finish are beautiful, solid wood, bevel cut glass (not Plexiglas), the lid is heavy and feels great to open and close, the lock works well. There is no question Volta was trying to build something exceptional and they succeeded. My last watch box cost about half as much as this one and I felt it delivered good value for the money. I believe this box, at twice the price, also delivers good value; it was a definite upgrade.

Excellent Quality & Price

This case is exactly as described and what I was looking for. It is made of solid wood, has a glass viewing window, and a solid lock and key. I would recommend this case to anyone who wats to display or store their watches.
