Cleans my Klean Kanteens!

I was looking for a nice set of inexpensive long handled brushes to clean the interior of my 40 oz (bottleneck) and 64 oz (wide mouth) Klean Kanteens.Klean Kanteen Wide Mouth Bottle with Stainless Loop Cap I found many of the prices for purpose marketed canteen brushes to be laughable at best. Asking north of $12 for a branded dish / bottle brush is silly. Anything north of $6 and you are simply paying for the privilege of having a branded product made by a third party in some foreign land by low wage workers. Now having said that I paid nine dollars and change for this set of dish brushes on Amazon solely because it was offered on prime. You are not going to find much more value for the dollar with shipping included. That puts this set at about two dollars a brush and a three dollar shipping markup because it is prime and amazon has to defray handling costs. But enough about value lets talk about the cleaning experience with the brushes themselves. When it comes to dish brushes you have two main types, extremely rigid and soft and pliable. Each has it merits. For instance if you wanted to give a quick scrape to get egg remnants off a well seasoned cast iron pan you would naturally prefer the extremely rigid bristles to get the job done very quickly and with the least amount of effort. However that same rigid bristle would not work nearly as well for getting lipstick prints off a glass. In that instance you would naturally prefer a softer bristle brush. This set includes both types of brush. The short handled (as pictured orange handle brush) has the extremely rigid type bristles for removing those cooked on food particles. The long handled (as pictured green and orange handle brushes) have a much softer and pliable bristle designed to fold and get into the nooks and corners of bottles. I purchased this set of brushes for two reasons. First and foremost is the value of the 3 brush set. The second is because I was hoping that they would be able to reach into the neck sides and bottom of my 40 oz. Klean Kanteen bottle as well as the 64 oz Klean Kanteen. Both of these expectations have been met. The 40 oz bottle was left in a hot car for a number of days and managed to developed additional life forms in the bottom of the canteen that contributed to a unappealing smell and taste to the water. This canteen because it is stainless steel and unlined is simply in need of a good scrubbing. I simply added boiling water, a splash of white vinegar and a vigorous scrub to interior with both the green and purple brushes and I was able to achieve a factory fresh clean. Sure the handles could stand to be a couple inches longer for maximum comfort but lacking that I was easily able to control the brushes and apply adequate scrubbing force to the interior of the bottle to satisfy my cleanliness requirements. In closing I would say that if you looking at this purchase for the purpose of cleaning either a canteen or bottle of any shape so long as the mouth of the bottle can accommodate the size of the handle plus the compressed bristles (~31.75 mm / 1.25 inch) then I would highly recommend this Casabella Loop 3-Piece Dish Brush Set!

Worth it! Finally replacing mine after three years of scrubbing

I rarely write reviews, but I promised myself I'd write one when it finally came time to replace these scrubbers. The kitchen scrubbers you get at the grocery store for a few dollars wear out so fast. The bristles always squish down quickly and the brush stops doing its one job: to scrub. Not these brushes though! I have a large family (6 kids) and have operated a home daycare. I serve lots of meals and scrub lots of dishes. With a cheap grocery store scrub brush I'd have to replace them every 6 months or so. This set took 3 years before they needed to be replaced. Worth every penny and the bright colors are super cute!

Great Brush

This a wonderful vegetable brush. I use it to clean my carrots and it does an outstanding job. It is smallish but the brush head is just the right size. I keep it hanging off a nail right by my sink. So convenient and it’s very easy to clean. The bristles are just the right type of hard. They are not super hard but they have held their stiffness for a couple of months now and I use it almost every day. They clean the dirt off but leave the skin which is just perfect. Definitely recommend this item

Works well

Must have if you are juicing. It very important that you clean your fruit and vegetables very well during prep. I use this brush daily and would highly recommend it to anyone who is juicing.

NOW I KNOW MY VEGGIES ARE CLEAN!

I have been looking for the "right" vegetable brush and I finally found it! Don't like the long handles on most. They just don't work with my arthritis. This little guy is perfect. Fits in your hand beautifully and it really gets the veggies clean. Thank you (I know it's a little thing but when the arthritis in your hands gets so bad that you can't hold on to things - things like this matter.)

I spent way too long shopping for vegetable brushes...

This was one of those situations where you need a simple item, and it SHOULD be a quick and easy task to order one. But the more you look and the more you read, you find yourself scrutinizing. This is rough enough to scrub dirt off of potatoes. It is not so rough that you won't be able to use it on anything else. I think the only thing that I wouldn't use it for would be a tomato. I didn't care much about the shape - it's the right size, it's plastic so you can get the handle wet (why some of these are wooden I'll never know), and you should buy this one and get back to your life. No signs of wear after several uses. A quick breakdown of my rating system (which you can see on my profile, I use the entire 1-5 range): 5 STARS – the item is exactly what I expected and fulfills its purpose. I would definitely buy again, and have no desire to shop for an upgrade. 4 STARS – the item might have a minor flaw which does not affect functionality. I would not actively shop for an upgrade, but would consider purchasing a different kind next time. 3 STARS – does the job but is not impressive. I would only buy it again if I absolutely could not find a better option. 2 STARS – doesn’t fulfill its purpose. I would not buy it again, but I might continue to use it while I shop around if I am desperate. 1 STAR – doesn’t fulfill its purpose and is so bad that I actually refuse to (or can’t) use it at all for any length of time. I would actively avoid buying it again.

Suds

I did not want a brush that dispensed soap and I thought I was getting what I wanted but this brush creates suds on potatoes when I scrub them. I have no idea where the soap is coming from but it is there. Also it has a slight unpleasant odor. But it's a good size and easy to handle, can be hung on a hook, and does a good job of brushing.

Sturdy so far

I like this set because the bristles seem sturdy enough to give a good scrub. Unfortunately for me the bottle brush is just a little too big for want i want to wash. On bottles with a bigger opening it would work very well.

good brushes

These brushes are great! I love the different shapes in this set which makes cleaning different shaped dishes easier and I love the bright colours of the handles. It is great that they are dishwasher safe so I can pop them in the dishwasher every once in a while to keep them clean. My only complaint is the loops at the end of the handles are too small for me to fit my hands through but I can still get a good grip by putting my hand around the entire handle. When this set of brushes wears out I will be ordering these again.
