The design changed, but it still works.
Even though I had to fiddle with it to get it attached, it still worked. (The design of the attachment mechanism has changed from the design I originally purchased.)

Sponge disintegrates with minimal use
Like so many others, I find that the sponge splits, or tears apart, near the rolling mechanism. There are multiple pictures already posted. Same thing with me. This has happened the last 3 mop heads I have ordered. I have been using this mop for years, and this thing with the sponge heads has just started this last year. I am hoping it is temporary, but I fear it isn't. They must be using cheaper materials. Too bad, it was a great mop before this issue emerged.

Love this no-nonsense, no-mess mop
It's hard to find a good, sensible, no-nonsense mop these days. The one I had been using was discontinued. This one works great on my luxury vinyl tile floors (that's what the manufacturer's call it -- it's just a vinyl-tiled floor). I prefer this style for getting into corners and just being able to put a good scrub on the floor.

Perfectly designed, high quality, easy to use
This sponge mop is great. It is made in Italy. It has a streamlined and simple design that makes it user friendly and easy to maneuver. The sponge head absorbs a lot of soapy water and cleans a wide area. You just pull down a simple lever beneath it to rinse out the sponge. It is made completely of solid high quality metal - nothing that might rattle, fall off, or make it more difficult to use. No unnecessary bells and whistles, just an excellent high quality sponge mop.

Quality product and great support from the company.
I tried several other of the "cheaper" Vileda mops when our trusty old steel "Bee Mop" finally fell apart a few years ago. Those "cheaper" mops never seemed to last and would break quickly --- being tired of the cheaper alternatives, I ordered the "Casabella Original Mop, Painted Steel" to try and find an equally sturdy replacement to the original. This mop has worked well for several years; however, what prompted me to write this review is the outstanding support from the manufacturer (Casabella). I recently had a problem with the mop handle and reached out to the company for support. They were responsive and quickly took care of the issue. Beyond the quality of the item, this positive experience with the manufacturer would lead me to recommend this mop to anyone looking for a quality item backed by a company that takes pride in its products.

Works great
Finally found a replacement for my old mop

Not as good as i expected.
I ordered this mop because of its ratings to replace my old Quickie o47 Type H mop for which replacement sponges were becoming difficult to find. However, I find the Casabella Mop to be not as good as I had hoped 1. The shape of the mop head is circular and thus it is more difficult to scrub a flat floor with it as it has less sponge in contact with the floor. There is also no abrasive scrubbing strip with this mop to remove stubborn solid deposits. 2. I find the way the handle to squeeze the sponge less convenient than the Quickie which had a sliding sleeve to activate the sponge squeeze. The Casabella has a handle on one side of the handle which means there is a 50/50 chance that when you wash the sponge in a tub, the handle is on the wrong side and you have to flip the sponge over. Not a big thing, I suppose but still irritating compared with the Quickie. 3. You cannot move the sponge head sideways as there is a good chance the head will detach from the handle which is also annoying. 4. Not having a wiry scrubbing strip was also unfortunate for me. 5. I will say that the construction of the mop appears to be sturdy.

Awesome product!
Purchased a Casabella Mop over 20 years ago, but unfortunately they no longer make refills for my older style Mop. So, I purchased a new Casabella Mop, and I'm still more than satisfied with my new Casabella Mop. I would buy it again; I can't see myself ever purchasing another brand or style of Mop.
