FINALLY a lip stain I’m not allergic to

It’s taken me months of research for me to find lip stains that don’t have things I’m allergic to like synthetic fragrance and propylene glycol. I was afraid that this was going to just be a liquid lipstick. The darker swipe is of ‘Michelle’ freshly swatched. It’s thick, opaque, and glossy. After a few minutes I wiped away the gloss and was left with a nice plum stain. I love it. I hope this is never discontinued!!

Nice subtle color. Good look that isn't matte nor is it too shiny. Easy application. Lasts 2-3 hours before I need to reapply. Recommend

Gorgeous Orange/Red Glossy Color

I ordered the ‘Hillary’ color and it is exactly as pictured! A gorgeous orange red color. It’s super creamy and soft. It has a nice and soft applicator that holds the product well and applies easily and evenly. It is a mix between glossy and matte sitting somewhere in the middle of the two. It doesn’t really dry so it acts more like a lip gloss in that sense. It wipes off easily with makeup remover. I honestly love the aesthetic of this brand more than any other I have ever owned. The names of the products are so cute and I love the homage to many inspirational women. The lavender color packaging with the purple font is an adorable combo and easily stands out from my other beauty brands.

Adele turned slightly orangey

This lipstick glides on easily but very thick. It doesn't leave much room for error, as it's very very very pigmented. I tend to like a light application and put a gloss over the top. I definitely couldn't do that with this lipstick. It's all or nothing once I start to rub it across my lips. The Adele color is a pretty peachy color in the tube, but when applied, it looked somewhat orangey and crackey dry. I tried to dab it off to decrease the caked on look but this had stained my lips the moment it touched them. It stays FOREVER, for good or bad, so I was stuck with this look for the day. All in all, I may like this a lot better in a different color. If you like super thick and pigmented lip color, this won't let you down.

More of a lip gloss than a tint, colors are difficult to judge

This is not what I would call a lip tint. It is opaque and, to me, tints are more transparent. This is more akin to a lip gloss. But, even though it is not a tint as I thought, I like the quality of it a lot. It is not sticky at all on my lips and I find that most gloss products are too sticky for me. Even though I like the texture, I'm not crazy about the color. I got "Kris" because it looked coral. If it had been a tint, I think it might have been fine, but as a gloss, the color is too pale. I have fair skin and this is so light on my lips that I look like I'm in a photo from the 1960's which is not really a look I'm aiming to achieve. So 4 stars for the gloss, which I would try again, but in a deeper color.

Glossy, shiny tint

So I wasn't sure what to expect with this. What is a tint, anyway? So many brands have different definitions of how a lip tint is defined. So in Carter Beauty, I believe this might be defined as being, not precisely a gloss, or a matte, or a regular lipstick. It certainly wasn't like any "tint" I'd ever experienced, which usually means a sort of transparent matte. This lip tint ended up being a glossy, long-wearing pigment. I'm not too sure why it's labeled "tint", as it seems it might be better labeled "gloss," but I'm unsure of the vagaries of labeling. Instead of gently tinting my lips with a slightly matte finish, it added a glossy sheen that lasted a fairly long time. It looked pretty good, but I'm not sure that I'd label this a lip tint. If you want a nice gloss, this is great. However, calling it a lip tint might be a stretch.

Beads up on the applicator, stains easily

I like the color but not the applicator and I inadvertently stained the sleeve of my shirt while testing it on the back of my hand. (it rubbed off the back of my hand onto the shirt and it won't come out of the shirt in the wash). I also didn't like how it applied to my lips, kind of like beads that I had to spread around. However, it lasts well, and looks nice once its on.

Too gloppy and heavily pigmented

Eh, I’m not thrilled with this “lip tint.” To me, a tint is a product that has some translucence to it, not as much pigment as lipstick. But this is like semi-liquid lipstick. It’s very, very pigmented and completely opaque. You have to be careful putting it on to make it look good. It smudges easily (more easily than lipstick), and then you have smudgy, clown-like lips. The color is okay, and it feels okay on, but it’s a fussy product that just doesn’t fit my preferences for easy, simple makeup.
