Works good and easy to install
This dynamo light works good and is easy to install, there is actually a YouTube with exactly this type of light but different model name and how to install it that someone made also the paper instructions that come with the light are easy to follow. The rear light had a too long wire and the front light had a too short wire so I had to cut some of the long wire off and add it on to the too short wire to make it work. Be aware that it is not a bright enough headlight to light up the road at night and also as soon as you stop pedaling the dynamo wont generate electricity anymore and the lights will turn off. For instance if you are stopped at a stop light or intersection the lights will be off. Its enough light for others to see you as you are riding and it does not need batteries, so it functions like a dynamo should, which the bulbs were LED so it was a bit brighter, then it would be perfect.

Need to metal to hold on to metal
Because the spring is strong enough but the plastic can't hold on to it

You get what you pay for that's for sure
This same style has been around since the 50s so you'd think they'd get it right by now , the wires are so thin that they're to fragile to handle much and I suggest taping every inch to the frame and protecting every bit that sticks out however you can , it is cheap and feels cheap

For 13 dollars its not bad but its more for a smaller frame bike
1st the light is only 35 lumens 2nd the head light wire was about a foot short 3rd it was difficult mounting everything I had a general idea because I did it before brackets just were not fitting my bike. 4th the rear light does not work futher testing tomorrow 5th it seems like the generator is already putting a toll on the tire not wanting to spin properly and being difficult 6th wires are very frail Overall I give it a 2 because it was only 13 dollars I was expecting brighter perhaps include what the lumens are on the product.

Poor material, mostly plastic. 9v generator.
A great product for some, but for me it was a bit of a headache. I wired everything correctly and adjusted the position of the generator correctly against the tire. I ran the crank to test out the power output of the generator and it had worked for less than a minute. The front light would not come on at all and the rear light ran for about 30-45 seconds. I’m guessing the poor quality of material was the reason for it. I would not recommend this product to anyone. You are better off holding a Dollar Tree flashlight in your teeth than spending hard earned money on this.

I was a little stymied as to the thought that the wires came in lengths that assumed the generator must go on the front forks. Many front forks (like mine) are shock absorbers, thereby leaving the rear wheel for generator placement. Supplied wires are not so much swappable friendly!

This generator and light system works!
The media could not be loaded. I attached this generator and lights to rowing machine I made to get additional resistance and visual feedback from exercise. This product works as expected. Installation was a bit confusing. It did not work until the lights were grounded to the bike. Once the installation is completed, it works. I think other reviewers who said it does not work may have tested the lights before completing the installation, i.e. grounding the lights to the metal body of bicycle.

IT WORKS WELL , COULD BE CHEAPER THOUGH
First and foremost, this product works!!, is it flimsy? A little, is it bad quality? I've seen worse, but I find it a little overpriced. For those who said it doesn't come with instructions, wrong, it does, the paper insert has the instructions inside, this is not new. Picture attached. For those who say it doesn't work, maybe but did you actually ground it properly? Two issues, first one , the bolts to attach the dynamo to the forks are too short, so I had to buy longer ones, not a biggy. Second issue, the cable inside the front light female connector was not making proper contact with the connector itself, I had to peel it a bit, wrap it around and put the plastic cover back in. Nothing broke, everything worked except for these minor inconveniences. 4 starts because quality doesn't match the price.

Forget about this product
I gave 1 star as it is the lower one can go. The worst thing I ever bought. The poor quality is even offensive. Crappy material, poor instructions, doesn't fit different fork sizes, I had to break the lamp case apart and try to straighten the metal parts inside it in order to work (but it didn't anyway), the dynamo has too high a roling resistance, it needs to be grounded by screwingn pointy screws into the paint of the frame which ends up damaging it. In the end I didn't threw everything away but kept the screws the mounts and the wires for future use, and I hope at least these will work.

Very poor quality !
Very poor quality bordering junk. Hardware is extremely flimsy and the rest of the components in this kit are not far behind. The dynamo itself did not seem to spin freely and felt like it had excessive internal friction. Installation was straight forward however the lights are very dim and the whole thing stopped working all together in half a mile. Both sets are going back. Worst product i ever bought off Amazon so far. You will get your money back but not the half hour of your life spent to install and remove it.

Needs to ground to bike frame
The generator can only work if it can ground against the bike frame. So if it’s painted, you need to remove some paint at the front and back light as well as the generator. It is not LED so brightness is limited.
