brim too big and wavy

The hat brim is too big and too wavy. I feel like I am wearing a witch's halloween hat. It also runs small. I have a small head and it fits me good but would be too small for many.

THE PERFECT HAT DOES EXIST, lol - spoiler, it is this. It is this one. This hat!

I have been a SDHC convert since 2016 trying to find a similar style to my original one that got lost a year ago; this one is a sweet contender to fill in the void of my original black crocheted / grosgrain SDHC style that got lost. The stretch on this hat is what I love most about it! You an wear it with a high bun, a low bun, any pony tail, etc....It is well ventilated because of the way the fibers are weaved; the material used also contributes to this hat being so well ventilated which is BIG for me - I don't like wearing a hat in dang Texas heat knowing fully well I am going to sweat my freshly washed and styled hair to shame, haha I will be buying a back up hat again soon (repeat purchase) because of how happy I was with the quality. The only thing I will say is that the plastic bone that the brim has holding the shape up may require you to shove it back into place every now and then; what I am going to do to fix that is simply sew the opening either closed or just much smaller than what it is right now in order for the the bone to not poke out after hand washes :)

Too cute!

I have a smaller version of this hat that I like for travel because you can lay it flat in your suitcase and it pops back into shape when you put it on. I wanted something with a bit more of a brim for greater sun protection to take on an upcoming cruise in the Mediterranean, and this looks like it will absolutely do the trick! The crocheted construction lets your head breathe and breezes blow through. I'm hoping the stretchy factor at the base of the crown will help keep it on, but I certainly don't expect to be able to wear it in a gale without hanging onto it! Due to the softness of the fabric, you have to put it on with a little attitude and play with the crown a bit, but that's what hat people do anyway. And a "hat's off" salute to the shipping department on this order!!!! For once the hat was in a box big enough to accommodate its diameter, and not folded up or jammed willy-nilly into a small one, leaving the brim a mangled mess.

The most comfortable hat!

I have this hat in 4 colors. Each time I wear one of them I receive multiple complements. I use a child’s belt as the hat band which gives it an additional flare. The belt can be adjusted to make a “perfect” fitting hat. Packs flat for travel. I sprayed them with Scotch Guard to repel dirt and moisture.

Most comfortable sun hat EVER

I spent months searching for this hat. I had purchased one (for double the Amazon price) at a surf shop several years ago. Turns out, it is the most comfortable hat I've ever owned. I feel claustrophobic in most hats because the material doesn't breath or stretch. This is the exact opposite. When you first see if, the knitted/crochet-type weaves looks hot, but it's not. The material allows for plenty of air flow and doesn't apply any pressure on my noggin. It's perfect for travel. The material flattens completely and hand washes beautifully. Note: this hat is somewhat "floppy", if you prefer a structured hat, this isn't the one for you. The picture is of my original, three year old hat. As you can see, it's held up well, even though the color is light. For the new hat I decided to go with a more "dressy" black. :)

It’s big enough for my giant head!

I have a big head- about 23.5”. Ladies’ hats just don’t fit me. I needed something for sun and had just about given up. Most of the hats advertised on amazon as fitting big heads are not accurate. This one is! It would probably fit an even bigger head than mine. It’s a little shallow and it might blow off in the wind but it keeps the sun off and looks ok. I can add an elastic band if it stretches out.

It FITS!

This is an earthshattering moment for me. I am in the One Size Fits Everyone Else BUT Me club. So, when I opened this package, pulled out a really cute hat with tons of potential for decorating, and it was just a wee bit loose, I was doing cartwheels, happy dances, and jumping for the sheer happiness of it. Plus, this is one really attractive hat when it's on my head. I'll add a scarf as hat band, set up a ribbon with decorations, coordinating silk whatevers to go with outfits, and enjoy the outdoor sun in style. And, the brim is big enough that at any point in the day I can read outdoors without getting the squints. This is a hat that will coordinate with so many outfits, I'm really looking forward to warm weather. Of course, if the three feet of snow would melt anytime soon.........

Another Nice Hat from SDHC

The brim was slightly wider than expected, but other than that, it's another quality hat from San Diego Hat Company. I prefer their cotton weave products, and this one did not disappoint in that regard.
