Might not always open?
The flapper part is very nicely designed, for a good seal, but might be a little too heavy? But I tried blowing up the tube to see how easily it opens and it requires more pressure build up than the galavanized one I got to compare the two. The galvanized flap opens very easily with a light blow up the tube. Will check out the pressure the dryer generates to see if it is easily enough for this flap, without too much back pressure.

GLAD I BOUGHT THIS VENT WHEN I NEEDED IT TO REPLACE EXISTING VENT
With the Coronavirus Quarantine I was able to replace the old plastic vent that was falling apart from the sun. It has been 8 months since I purchased this vent but it's metal and very good quality and rigid. Very good; larger outside for installing to the wall than the small plastic one that was purchased from local box store. I hope to have this one last for more than 4 years.

waste of Money
I purchased this dryer vent in 2018 now it is 2021 and the Flapper doesn't close. Cold air pours into our dryer, i checked to make sure that the flapper wasn't clogged up, all was clear but the flapper does not close when i contacted Great Brands, they told me to contact the manufacturer, which i did and a very nice Cheery lady took my information and she would call me back the next day, guess what she never called me back, so i called her and she did not remember our conversation and asked me to email all the info to her, an hour later i received an email that stating, I quote "I was told you will have to return it back Amazon and purchase a new Vent at Amazon or Lowes", it is past it's thirty day guarantee, so basically they washed their hands of this issue, my advice don't buy from them and find a dryer vent that doesn't have a flap made of plastic, there are several for sale on Amazon that are Half their price and at least as good if not better!!!!!!

Not like the cheap plastic junk from the big box stores
Replaced a cheap plastic (and flimsy aluminum tube) dryer vent that was literally falling apart and letting the mice in after only a couple of years. This is way better - nice solid metal. The flap inside the housing is plastic but that should not be an issue. One neat feature is that the flap and its seat are angled in such a way that gravity will help to keep it closed. Definitely would buy again but probably will never need to.

Great Heavy Duty Dryer Exhaust!
Heavy duty construction and very well made! My old light duty aluminum dryer exhaust had gotten bent over the years and the flapper stayed open all the time allowing cold air in. This is a great replacement that won’t get bent and has a well sealing flapper.

Quality, Effective
This dryer vent is well made and appears that it will be durable to last many years. The flap works well and closes securely when the dryer cycle finishes. I do not perceive any gaps around the flap so expect that it is weathertight and an effective barrier to pests.
