Complicated, versatile yet consistently faulty item!

Just for the record I think this is an amazing attachment overall because it allows you to have a neutral grip as well as the closer angled grip both with the thick rubber grips which is pretty good because using this multi exerciser on a cable pulley machine really does allow you to do a lot of different exercises and fairly comfortably if you don't have or don't want to swap out different attachments all the time for different exercises whenever you work out even though it's a little bit big and awkward at first attaching it and removing it from the pulleys compared to other accessories just because of the shape and size of it but doing rows using this are awesome, tricep pushdowns are solid, you get a great pump doing curls as well even though I think if your hands were slightly more out and not quite as angled like on a revolving curl bar it could be better but curls work pretty good as well even though it's a little bit uncomfortable or weird with this but it still works and you can do squats and deadlifts from the low pulley holding this item using the neutral grips fine and straight arm pull-downs from the top pulley work good as well, upright rows is the 1 exercise that work a lot better just using a short straight revolving bar though pulling it up all the way to your neck and pausing to get that squeeze at the top and stretching your traps at the bottom working your deltoids and traps both because with this accessory you can't pull it up nearly as high with the wider neutral grip and the other closer grip works better but not that great for upright rows because I tried it and you can do it and I do it sometimes but you have to hold on real tight and keep your elbows extra high always with the neutral grips facing away from you when not using the neutral grips but that's the 1 exercise that doesn't work nearly as good with this accessory compared to a straight bar but they're doable, curls are ok but not optimum like with a EZ curl bar for pulleys but curls on a straight bar hurt my wrists so they work ok with this attachment, upright rows are doable as well but kinda strange but I really like this attachment though because of the variety it offers but I did receive a damaged item because 2 out of the 4 grips were damaged with 1 of them having a large cut in it and the other rubber grip having a huge smear like someone pushed it in with their thumb after they got it hot and were sticking it on the metal bar maybe and it also literally has a hole in that grip on that same handle exposing the silver metal through the black rubber grip and that handle or the rubber part is actually loose and could potentially come off later on as I use it more in time so I ordered a replacement and if I get a replacement that isn't damaged at all I will raise up this rating because I removed a star for the grips being damaged and loose and I will take another star off for having to return my first item but I will update my review later after I get my replacement if it's in better shape but I could still use this item but I just didn't really want to keep it after I spent $32 + before tax on it and I would much rather have one that isn't already damaged so hopefully I'll get one that isn't damaged but this is a great accessory if you get one that isn't damaged because you can do a lot of exercises with it even if it's primarily made to work your back, you can also work your arms with it as well and even your lower body holding it with the neutral grip on the low pulley etc. UPDATE: Okay today I received my replacement multi exercise grip and it didn't take that long to receive the replacement so I have to give them credit for that but I was hoping for a better quality piece of equipment this time obviously because my last one had 2 pretty damaged rubber grips and 1 of them was really loose and had a hole in it so the first thing I looked at on this replacement were the rubber grips and they're still damaged some and 1 has a tiny little hole but they're definitely not damaged as much as my first item but 1 of them is slightly loose still but not as loose as 1 of the other grips previously so that's an improvement but then I went to spin the thing in the middle that spins when you do your exercises to check that and it won't spin, it will rotate about 3/4 of a turn and then it locks up so something is definitely off balance or something and I put a lot of WD-40 in it as well as 3-in-1 oil and that improved it some but it still won't rotate freely at all and you have to force it so I don't know I almost wish I kept the other one because that one at least spun freely in the middle but if I try to take this one back and get a 3rd one would 3x be a charm? or I might get another one that's messed up again so maybe I won't even bother and in time it might loosen up more but I don't know, it really don't spin freely at all in the middle which is really irritating and that's a key function of these pulley attachments and I've been messing with it a lot to try to see if I can get it to spin better and it wont really so it seems like these things are all faulty or they have really poor quality control or something because they are much more affordable than from other brands but one of the first things that I would check if I worked in the manufacturing plant is to make sure that the piece in the middle spins freely because on my first one of these that I returned the thing in the middle spun great and had no problems at all but the grips were really damaged but on this one the grips are better, not great but better but the thing in the middle won't spin freely at all so I'm definitely disappointed so I can't raise my rating up like I hoped and I'm actually dropping it down 1 star so I'm only giving this 2 stars out of 5 now but because it is more affordable than other brands I'll give them 1 star for the affordability factor with a total of 3 stars now total unless I send this one back also and get a better one but until then if that happens and I get a better one this thing only deserves 3 stars maximum because I've had 2 of these now and they were and are both not even close to the standards I would have before I would allow something to be sold to the public and I understand this is a more complicated piece of equipment than most but still neither items that I've had were up to par really at all. Update #2: I literally palm striked the thing in the middle that is supposed to spin freely about 50 times on each side about as hard as I could without hurting my hand and I put more oil in it and spun it forcibly around as much as I could and I let it sit for a couple days and I did the same thing again a couple days later and it started to spin more freely after that, not as good as it should straight from the manufacturer at all but it's working okay now and fairly satisfactory so I think this thing deserves 3 stars total just because of the affordability factor and because of everything that it can do but it doesn't deserve more than 3 stars at all simply because of the problems that it gave me but I do respect and admire this company Cap and how they're selling equipment much more affordable than pretty much every other company out there on average so I'll feel bad if I give them less than 3 stars because their equipment is the most affordable on the market pretty much but it does tend to give problems or appear used often sadly but 3 stars out of 5 to me is a deserving rating but nothing higher just because of the affordability factor and the versatility of this specific piece of equipment.

Needs a little grease and then it's perfect!

Many people have been affected by the country going into lockdown, and one of the repercussions was that all my local gyms closed. I've been contemplating and finally bit the bullet and decided to build a home gym so I have a place to work out at during this whole quarantine. One of my purchases included a squat rack and cable attachments. I needed a row attachment and went with this CAP Barbell "Multi-Exerciser" attachment. I use these primarily for cable rows, but you can also used these for curls and cable tricep extensions. Overall, the product is great, sturdy and good for the price. Especially when everyone is trying to price gouge you during these times. The one thing you might have to do is lubricate the revolving hanger. It's a little squeaky out of the box, but nothing a bit of WD-40 can't fix.

Glad I DId not Listen to the Negative Reviews

- I received this item earlier than expected, possibly three or days earlier. - Was worried about the item being lopsided as reported by a few others here, while the item I received may or may not be perfectly symmetrical, it is suitable to do pull exercises with. At this price point, I am happy and did not expect for it to be perfect, but good enough to lift weights with. -I am happy with the hand grips, prompt delivery, and feel like I received more than my money's worth. -I have purchased several products from Cap on Amazon and always get prompt delivery and good value for my home gym. If you are hesitant to purchase this item, keep in mind that returns are free if you are not satisfied with your purchase, that's what helped me get over the negative reviews and I'm glad that I made this purchase, otherwise I would not have this tool for getting more range of motion of my low rows. Excellent product!

Can't wait to try it!

I just received the CAP multi-exercise bar. The bar was delivered only wrapped in plastic shrink wrap, no box, padding or other protection. But, pleasantly surprised, that it arrived so quickly, from the time I ordered it. It wasn't damaged, as far as I noticed. The bar is well made and the rubber grips, feel secure and comfortable. The chrome finish is not a nice finish, but the equipment is for working out. So, looking forward to doing some rows and building my back.

Don't listen to fake reviews! Outstanding commercial gym quality!

Okay, I am a firm believer in reading good reviews and the ones that are bad. I have to be honest and say that many times when I read reviews It is obvious that retail shops/competitors or retail distributors order certain product so their reviews are "verified purchase" and they can leave negative remarks to attempt to keep people from ordering the same quality on Amazon. With that said this is an AWESOME AWESOME AWESOME PRODUCT! It is the EXACT piece of equipment you'll find in commercial gyms such as LA Fitness, 24hr Fitness or any other big box commercial gym. If you are looking for commercial quality then lol no further as this product is for you!

Really Good Quality

Really good quality bar. feels really solid and the grips are really nice. a lot better than what I was expecting. definitely worth getting at this price range. my only complaint is that the rotating attachment part doesn't move smoothly, it gets snagged at certain spots, but I used some wd-40 silicone lubricant and it was fine.

Solid equipment

The hinges are solid. The bar is solid. However the rubber is a bit thin and in small areas does not cover the grip area. But for the price I say do it. It is a fully functional piece of equipment that will not break. If you want pretty this rubber handles then drop and extra $20-50 but I like this item. I did not even try to return it, for me it was no big deal.

Looked like a great product when it was new!!!

This bar attachment looks like it was used for 10 yrs then shipped to my house!!! It appears to be a solid product but for some ridiculous reason covered in dirt!!!! If it was new I would give it 5 stars now I am just wondering if I should send it back.

You get what you pay for

The price is cheap and it's built cheap. Had to get a replacement because the first one was in awful shape, the handles had holes in them, it was dirty, the metal was worn. The replacement one was is better shape, but still didn't look brand new, has wear marks on it. The handle doesn't rotate smoothly. It smells awful, like gasoline and plastic.

Wow! This item is a gift for my husband and I’m totally embarrassed to give it to him. It’s filthy , small holes all over the rubber handles, and looks well used! Plastic it was covered in was dirty with crap all over it. Ridiculous!! Hope it at least does it’s job .
