Love this Beehive Candle…

My husband surprised me with this Beehive Candle as part of my Anniversary gift! I absolutely LOVE it, honestly I have never seen anything like it. It’s just Beautiful, I keep it on our coffee table so I can see & use it. It burns great, like the bee’s that came with it…I already had on hand some gold bee tack’s so I swapped out & love them on there to. Would absolutely recommend & will be purchasing more & see they come in other shapes as well! I will probably be gifting this also, so unique & beautiful.

Beehive perfect

Smells amazing if you like the smell of bees wax. Dad was a beekeeper that had passed and I gifted this to my brother for his birthday. He loved it! It is such a piece of art. So glad I splurged and got it for him!

Beehive candle 70 hour coil burns 2 inches at a time

The candle arrived ready to use. The bees do not come attached to the candle; the wings are detached from the plastic bodies. Since the candle wax unwinds from the top, the best placement of the bees is not at the top. I scattered them, but did place a few at the top of the coil and on the strand going into the cup because it was cute. It would be cool if the bees were made more true to life, but they are cute from a distance and serve their purpose. As stated in the burning instructions, the candle does extinguish itself when the portion of candle exposed above the clamping cup burns down. The instructions also state that the candle should be placed so it extends no more than 2 inches above the cup. Each inch of candle is supposed to burn approx. 25 minutes. Be mindful that the instructions state the candle's burn rate is "approximate". Additionally, the burning instructions state to wait 10-15 minutes to allow the clamping arms and wax to cool down before relighting the candle. I placed the candle in an area that would not be impacted by the heat coming from the vents. There are no open windows, open doors, or fans being used. Using a measuring tape, I measured 2 inches and lit the candle at 2:34, it extinguished at 3:19. So 2 inches burned for 45 minutes. At 3:31, the cup and clamping arms had already cooled to the touch, but after opening the arms, the candle strand was stuck to the interior of the cup. I failed to check it at the 15 minute mark. Following the instructions, I found setting the candle up for the next burn a little awkward. I admit there was a slight struggle, but I won the mini-battle. The bees were re-arranged, this time I did not go with my preferred arrangement. Again, I measured 2 inches with a measuring tape. It took two attempts to get the candle to light. This time the two inches burned for 50 min. The candle is not scented, so when this one needs to be replaced, I will purchase a scented one. For me this candle is a keeper and will be more for aesthetic purposes. I will light it only occassionally. I love to use candles and normally let them burn for more than an hour at a time. Clearly, this candle is not made for that purpose, but so far it has burned for the "approximate" 25 minutes per 2 inches. If the bees were more true to life, I would give it 4.5 stars. If the burn time was longer, I would give it 5 stars and recommend it.

Cute, but....

The candle itself is cute and well made, but the “bees” looked like plastic termites. Used different bees, and now I am happy.

Cute Concept, Flawed Execution.

This is a very cute idea, but it's tough to actually use. I will probably keep it for the look but not burn it that much. The candle arrives coiled and not inside the scissor-cup, and it was a little tough for me to shape it up while maintaining the coil. Maybe it's the cold air and low humidity this time of year, but I couldn't initially get the wax to bend and I couldn't get my hand around it enough to warm it up. This let up a bit after the candle was indoors for a day, and I put it under a lamp for a few minutes to help soften it, but it's still difficult to pull it up into the cup and I have to re-shape the coil every time. For a candle that burns for 30-50 minutes maximum, it's a lot of trouble. The bees are plastic, they come unassembled, and they kind of detract from the overall look of the item, especially close up. They attach by forcing an integrated, small plastic rod through the coils, but as the candle flexes, or if you rotate the coil to burn a new length, they tend to fall off and scatter everywhere. I had kind of thought they would be 1) metal and 2) fixed to the cone that creates the bee-hive shape. You could stick anything with a small rod through or into the coils (like something on a pin for instance), so a crafty person could remedy this. Finally, -1 star for selling a product labeled as "eco-friendly" that's packed in styrofoam and wrapped in plastic. Not only does it contradict the point of purchasing a bees-wax candle over a petroleum-based candle, but it also makes the product look cheap. Lucky for me my community recycles Styrofoam a few times a year. All in all, it's a very cute idea but not really functional as a candle, and a little expensive for what you get.

Very cute! Would make an great gift.

Cute and unique. Can be a little hard to feed the wax into the clamp at times. Would have preferred that “bees wax” scent. But this is completely orderless. Which would be ideal for some. For me it would be an extra perk. Also a good conversation starter.

Excellent product

Excellent product. I bought it for my wife at Christmas and she and I both love it. If you’re a candle person this is as good as it gets. It’s been used every night (It’s April now) and it’s still not even 1/5 of the way down yet, easily 70 hours. The safety/timer element of it is awesome too.

Overpriced-but cute concept.

Cute concept. Disappointed with" made with beeswax " not %100 I suspect...no scent . Burns very fast , 3" segment maybe 1/2 hr burntime. Some of beeswings did not fit holes (You have to assemble them.) Too pricey for quality& materials.
