Good quality, but Intense brightness, un-dimmable, 4000K blue-white color

Quality light fixture with good finish and looks, but wish I could adapt it for dimming, as the GU10 3w bulb is extremely bright, and emits a very cold spectrum at 4000K color temperature. Tried to find a lower wattage LED bulb with a GU10, base, but none were to be had online. UPDATE as of 15 October 2015: I found a really good solution for the irritating brightness and the blue-white spectrum - I ordered on Amazon the eWing GU10 LED Spotlight, 1.2 watt, 110 Lumen, 3000k warm white. This bulb is perfect, emits 1/3 the light of the original 3 watt 300 Lumen bulb that came with the unit. It provides plenty of light for reading in bed, with much less disturbance of sleep-mate.

Good lamp

The light looks pretty much as the photo shows. We got the rust finish and it looks good. One disappointment was that the light bulb (purchased separately) does not sit centered in the sconce. Another (minor) caveat is that the goose neck is rather long and you may have to mount it a bit further away than you may have intended. This is also meant for wall mounting, so the base is really light - the upshot is that it is really unstable just placed on a table - it will stand up, but can easily tip over. BTW, the bulbs for this were a bit challenging to find, but I eventually did find them via Amazon. Even at 3w, the lamps feels like a spotlight - it is really bright!

Great bedside lamp!

I loved this lamp with only two thoughts to share. First, the finish of the lamp is somewhat more "faux-finish"-looking than I could tell from the picture - kind of looks like someone sponge-painted two different colors of metallic paint on it. It's fairly subtle, but not quite what I expected. Second, the bulb that comes with the lamp is incredibly cold and bright - so you may want to go out and find a gentler one, depending on your preference. The GU10 LED bulbs are fairly easy to find, though not as common as a standard bulb. I do love the gooseneck for flexibility and the overall look of the lamp. And the customer service from Amazon and Lamps Plus was great.

Good for purpose intended

We like the lamps and they are good for the purpose intended which, for us, is reading in bed without disturbing our spouse. However, the gooseneck seems a bit flimsy and I'm not sure how much bending and twisting it's going to hold up to. I guess time will tell. In addition, the cover for the cord is also flimsy and is just kind of sitting there without much support to keep it from falling off.

No Exposed Power Cord

We didn't want to have the power wire running down the wall so, we had an electrical box wired up in the wall. Cut the power cord and left about a 4" pigtail which was enough to wire nut it to the house electrical, and the cover plate is about 3/4 of inch thick so there more than enough room for the wiring to be tucked inside the cover plate. The plate covered the 1-gang box without issue, but had to drill some holes to make the base plate line up correctly with the electrical boxes screw holes. (Any DIY'er, handyman or electrician could do this.) Made for a nice clean install. My only wish is that I wish there was a dimmer or a high and low setting, because when you are reading with this light on, it's more than enough light, but I knew it didn't have a dimmer going into it. What is nice however is because it's an LED bulb it doesn't get hot, so there's no chance of getting burned by this lamp. Buying some more to add to the other bedrooms.

Not Dimmable

I bought this light for one reason....it was described a dimmable. It is not! I should have read all the reviews before I purchased..someone has already made this complaint and apparently the seller chose not to correct the description and for that I should give it one star but I guess since the light works I will give it two stars.

This wall lamp works exactly as promised. And that's a really good thing.

So first it does not get hot so you can easily move it around to best direct it. (Ergo the single star for "warmth." It is not warm!) The light is diffuse enough to read by but focused enough not to bother someone else who is trying to sleep! And very very easy to install. If it had a dimmer, it would be even more perfect. Nonetheless I highly recommend this lamp given I spent a lot of time trying to find the best one to install next to the beds in my home. And I have no regrets.

Pricey, for what it it...

Overpriced. I believe I spent about $100 on this thing. Not dimmable, and the gooseneck broke (probably thanks to my grandkids). It is plenty (too) bright. I removed it from over the bed and may try to use it on a stationary power tool.
