Simple, Elegant, Lamp at a Great Value

I had been heavily researching on Amazon (as well as other retailers' websites) to find a modern and stylish-looking lamp for a bedroom in a silver brushed steel color with a glass shade, that didn't appear too bulky. I also didn't want it to be too expensive, since I was considering buying another one for another bedroom. I came across many lamps under $100 that either had negative reviews because of bad workmanship, or just looked a bit cheap (eg. were made out of a shiny chrome silver, or had a dark glass base and plastic shade). I checked out this lamp, and read further since I had seen two 5-star positive reviews, and it seemed to look quite stylish. I'm very glad I made this purchase! The lamp looks even better than in the picture, and I was happy that it met all my requirements. I like the three-way light feature, because you can adjust it depending on your lighting needs. Although I think if one doesn't want/need a 3-way light, a regular Type A bulb works just as well. The reason I gave this lamp 4 stars instead of 5 stars is there are two areas need improvement in workmanship. The first area is glass shade, it seems to have small circles embedded in the glass shade (on the inside of the shade). On the outside of the shade, they appear as tiny shadows when one looks closely. The second area is where the bottom area of the finnial meets the pole, in which there is a tiny gap. This most likely has to do with the way the screw was manufactured on the finnial and/or beginning of pole. Both of these areas are hardly noticeable, but would improve the quality and look of the lamp (making it close to perfect). Overall, it has a simple, elegant look, and it is well worth the price paid! It would look really nice in a bedroom, office, or living room.

Clean, Simple, Works

The lamp was fairly easy to put together and looks nice and simple, but not cheap. The base could be a little wider/heavier. Like that it has three light levels. Small annoyance: This was packaged in a bunch of cheap styrofoam that left little crumbles all over. Overall, pleased with my purchase.

Seems to be good quality, except for sharp metal hole in base.

This lamp seemed very nice, but I had to return it, because the cord was severely damaged and could not be used. I think the cord was cut on the VERY sharp metal hole in the base, which is a bit of a design flaw. If not the for the damaged cord, I think it would have been a great floor lamp.

Great stylish light

We were searching very long for the perfect torchiere for our dining room. We wanted milky glass shades, a metal stand, simple, modern design, and adjustable light. This torchiere has it all. OK, its not a dimmer, but it has three levels of light, which is enough for all kinds of light demands. I would almost give it 5 stars but there are two minor points to mention. The stick for the switch turns when turning in the bulb (should be fixed, not moving) and the foot is a bit wiggly. The last point seems to be an issue with basically all US torchieres we looked at so far. For some reason, the US does not like firm torchiere feet. Don't know why....Europe has no trouble producing firm feet.... ;-) Assembling the torchiere was easy (four hands is best). I love it that the switch is at the top. No long searches in the dark.

This brushed steel floor lamp gives off a lot of light!

I am very pleased with this floor lamp. It was pretty easy to assemble and looks very nice in my living room. It gives off a good amount of light which was very important to me. The only thing that kept it from being absolutely perfect was I felt the diameter of the long pole was a little too small.

Awful manufacturing quality

The manufacturing quality on this lamp was awful. In the end I ordered 7 lamps and was only able to keep 3 (and even those aren't great, with a crooked pole and 3-way lamp that only turns on / off). The ones I returned had screws which were the wrong size (pieces didn't connect), poles that were very crooked, shades cracked, or lamps that did not work. The lamp is also packaged in the cheapest Styrofoam possible that shreds into hundreds of tiny pieces when taking the lamp out of the box. If the manufacturing quality was better, the lamp would be an attractive sturdy torchiere lamp.

Great Lamp -- Great Price

I needed a lamp for a corner of my living room where I also have a work area. This lamp is perfect -- it looks beautiful and it throws just the right amount of light for what I am doing because of the three way capability. Very happy with this purchase.

Great floor light

Nice addition to my fiance's office. It illuminates very well and the lighting that comes from it reflects off the ceiling well and is not too overbearing
