Buyer Beware - does not last long and Keurig makes warranty returns a pain to process
On the surface, this brewer is pretty much like every other brewer out there. You put a K-Cup in, it brews the coffee, you get your cup of societally-acceptable morning productivity chemicals. However, having been using Keurig brewers for a while, I have to advise that the quality of these brewers is not what it used to be. Less than 1 year after buying this one, it lost the ability to sense when the water reservoir was low or empty. After that became a daily annoyance, I decided to call Keurig to see if they would do a warranty replacement. Obviously, the call went to an overseas call center where you're put on hold a lot of times; but in the end it took over 2 months to get the replacement. It took this much time because they put a lot of requirements in front of you. To start, I had to provide them with a photo of the brewer's serial number, then a photo of the brewer with a handwritten note next to it with my name and the service request number, and a copy of my invoice from Amazon. Having sent that, and followed up with a phone call to make sure they received my documentation/images, I thought my brewer would be at my doorstep. But, no, it was not, so I waited a bit to make sure I wasn't just being impatient. After 3 weeks, I started to worry so I decided to search through my emails to see if I missed an email (very possible with how many emails we all get these days). Searching through my emails, I found that they added an additional request for the Amazon delivery confirmation with the photo showing the brewer had been delivered to my doorstep. I went into my old emails and found the delivery confirmation, but the photo was missing (Amazon probably deletes these from their servers after a few months to save space, which is understandable but makes this request from Keurig impossible to complete). This meant another phone call to Keurig just to confirm that the only delivery confirmation I could provide was good enough. They said they're shipping the warranty replacement brewer out today, so let's see if that works. I would give this brewer 4 stars, but the lengths I had to go through for a warranty replacement on a brewer that started to not function correctly after less than a year makes 3 the best rating that I can give. As always, buyer beware. Perhaps if I had set my expectations lower I wouldn't have cared as much as I initially did; but the bureaucratic headache of warranty replacement Keurig created was a surprise to me since it was not this difficult to get a warranty replacement when my previous Keurig brewer stopped working (thank goodness they gave up on that K-cup QR code scan requirement). Maybe Keurig was just embarrassed and wanted the problem to go away as quickly as possible. Who knows? In any case, that's all folks. Update: Keurig messed up my return. Even though I gave them my shipping address no less than 3 times, they still managed ignore that information and sent it to my old address instead. Yes, my new address was on my sales receipt. They said they could fix this error, but it would take additional time. Again, the warranty process has been nothing but a long, drawn-out headache.

Problems with descale indicator and return issues
So we are big fans of Keurig and I have bought several machines over the years some of which have been a better buy than others. This particular machine I bought in 07/2022 and over the last 8 months have used it daily with somewhat heavy usage. I drink a lot of tea as well as coffee so really enjoy just using the machine for hot water function. The specs claim that the machine should let the user know when it needs to be descaled. I do live in an area that has hard water. So the descale indicator has never come on since we have had it. Recently the machine was only putting out about 2/3 of a cup. So went through all the regular trouble shooting and finally decided maybe it was time to descale. Bought the Keurig brand descale solution and per directions attempted the process. It ran through one cycle and stopped working all together. Every time I turned on the machine the descale indicator now came on and then it would automatically shut off. Very strange and me thinks something might have gone wrong with the heat element but I wasn't about to tear the machine apart. Bottom line is that Amazon will only except returns within a month after purchase i do believe which is fine. They do not accept returns 8 months after purchase for sure and so Amazon will refer you to the manufacturer in this case. So called Keurig and they were great and stated that they would replace the machine but they do require a lot of info. The machines have a one year warranty. I had to send proof of purchase and confirmation of shipping along with photos. So don't get rid of those emails. I was almost denied by Keurig because I did not send the shipping confirmation first time around. It may also be a good idea to register the machine with Keurig when purchased.

Great coffee maker
Our 3 year old Keurig was at end of life EOL. I was surprised it didn't last longer as I ran a clearer through it every two months. This Keurig makes great coffee. Like the brushed metal design. Really love that Amazon had warehouse deals on this model that saved us quite a bit of money. I purchased a like new condition. The only thing I saw was the box had a couple of very minor damage spots. I really don't think the box had ever been opened. Go Amazon!

The K-Elite is adequate
I am a long-time owner of Keurigs, and I have stuck with them because of the convenience. This model is quite sleek in appearance and I really like the slate finish. I also like the option for hot water which is convenient for making oatmeal or a single cup of tea. I find it as noisy as other models, which isn’t a particular problem for me, but one would think with newer models this could be addressed. The other major annoyance for me is the water reservoir which is challenging to remove to fill and replace with its tricky little hook—not a great location, either for trying to maneuver with one hand for those of us who are right handed. Definitely not user-friendly. I don’t like a lot of extraneous options to scroll and click through, and I see no reason to have a clock and set an “on” time since it just powers on and starts heating-not brewing. Heating is pretty fast anyway. In summary, this model is attractive enough, and the hot water option is nice, but that whole water reservoir location and attachment needs work!

No waiting for hot water and a cup of strong coffee
I purchased this model because of the selection of cup sizes. I like my coffee strong, and my other smaller Keurig gave the choice of 8, 10, or 12 ounces. I got tired of holding a measuring cup under drip to catch the first and last few ounces. This model is the large one and holds a lot of water. It also has a strong button, so I can get a nice strong 6 ounce cup in a matter of seconds. The first negative is it’s size (I had to remove regular coffee pot in order for this to fit, as I have a tiny kitchen) The other negative is that it seems like the materials are lower quality. Im glad I bought 3 year warranty. I do recommend it for its great tasting coffee especially if you have plenty of space.

A Lightweight Brewer that Does the Job (So Far)
Our long-standing Cuisinart SS-700C gave up the ghost a few weeks ago. As with most Keurig brewers, it was the pump that went. It would provide hot water but as soon as there was a K-cup in place it no longer had the "oomph" to force water through the cup. So okay, time for a new brewer. My first thought was for a like-for-like replacement since the Cuisinart was a very solid brewer that lasted years. Unfortunately, it has been replaced by the SS-10P1 and several reviewers noted that it has been cheapened considerable. So I looked elsewhere and ultimately settled on this brewer. It's about half the weight of our old brewer (which I consider a negative) and the water reservoir is less ergonomic, but it does brew just as good a cup of Joe. The one gripe I have is that two of its feet are rubber while the other two are hard plastic. The result of this is that it will skate on the countertop if pushed relatively lightly, like when you open and close the K-cup holder one-handed. So two-handed it is. It wouldn't have cut into their profits terribly to splurge on 1/4 cents worth of rubber for all four feet! So far it's working just fine and neither of us can detect any difference in the coffee's taste between this and our old brewer. One star off for lack of solidness, for not having four rubber feet, and for my sneaking suspicion that it just won't last as long as our old brewer.
