Beautiful timepiece, definitely worth the money.
I purchased this Precisionist timepiece for a little over $700 and I must save it is worth every penny. This watch was built with quality in mind. It is well built, I love the bracelet itself. I also love the design language of the dial. The movement of this watch is unbelievable. For a big watch, it is not so heavy, at least not in my opinion. In fact, it is quite comfortable to wear. The only complaint I have well 2 complaints that I have is one I wish the dial screen was made of sapphire crystal and I wish the watch was a solar charged or kinetic energy charged watch instead of a regular 3 plus year battery. Outside of that, this watch as I said earlier is definitely worth the price and I truly am loving this watch.

Nicks and scratches
Beautiful watch. Perfect size for my guy. Nice and heavy. Purchased the new option. However, the watch had a few nicks and scratches.

A beautiful masterpiece but the watch face colors are so close they appear to be the same.
I really wanted to love this watch but because the "blue" rings seemed to be as dark as the carbon fiber weave on the background of the watch face, everything just blended into one big mass of dark grey to my eyes. Unless you are in direct sunlight, it's harder to discern the uniqueness of the details - despite what the beautiful Amazon stock images seem to portray thanks to overcorrection through saturation, "pop" and sharpen. Sure, throw a direct beam of light from a flashlight and then take a macro shot with your camera and you'll see the color but in everyday circumstances (real life) even in direct sunlight, the colors are so similar that it looks nothing like the professional and overly-enhanced Photoshopped pictures. The irony is I love the watch band because the color is exactly what I was expecting/wanting and it's very color matched to the watch case. Perhaps if you have perfect color vision and see 20/20, you'll see it differently but I've uploaded/attached a photo for you to judge yourself against the marketing photo. I don't see that they are that close. If you find my photos 'washed out' they aren't. That is what it really looks like under indoor lighting. I didn't save the photos I took outdoors, but it isn't far off from what I've uploaded. Good luck and enjoy! The obvious upside is that you can return the watch if you don't like it. I think I'm going to try the much more pronounced differences showcased in the Bulova Precisionist Chronograph Mens Watch, Stainless Steel, Silver-Tone (Model: 96B175) to see if it's the right watch for me. I suspect it will be as it's several hundred dollars more for the exact same watch - the only differences are the watch face aesthetics.

Impressions after 6 months
Overall Let me preface this review by saying this is my first real big boy watch. I did buy a Tissot which did not work out. I did countless hours of research before settling on this watch. What initially attracted me to this was the very smooth sweeping second hand. I assure you after about 6 months of constant wear as a "beater", the movement appears to be holding true to the accuracy claim. I measured the accuracy against time.gov. The second hand is cruising smooth and cool. It has kept perfect time for me without gaining or losing so much as a second. I just adjusted it for daylight savings and I trust it can be relied upon for accuracy year round. The overall presentation of the watch is stellar. The watch is big and serious. As an engineer, this watch tells people to calm the heck down because I know what I am talking about. The heavy steel bracelet and case have remained looking great even while collecting some dings and scratches. The bracelet is strong and the clasp is sturdy, albeit scratched. However, The 4 hex case screws and the space between the bezel and the case tend to collect a lot of grime and are difficult to clean. My arms are more muscular than average and I think this big monster helps accentuate my physique. I have conked my wife with this thing and the hex screws have scraped her. Sometimes it's hard to find a comfortable position at night with this on my wrist. This beast is no joke. The Window I was worried that the non-sapphire window would scratch. This has not happened at all and the window is 100% free of scratches. However the window is curved and can make the face difficult to see at non-direct angles because the image of the face becomes warped. The window is also very reflective, which I personally find to be the greatest drawback of this watch from a presentation perspective, and because of the curve, I often am blasted with reflected ceiling lighting or sun before finding the right angle for viewing the face. The Face If you are bothering to read this, I do not need to sell you on the face of the watch. It looks exceptional. However I will warn you about a couple things. The luminescence is quite weak and the watch is difficult to read in darkness. Tragically, the minutes gauge on the chrono is too cluttered and small to read effectively. The small minutes gauge might be a deal breaker for real chronograph users because the minute gauge is a pretty important gauge. It would have been more useful to swap the placement of the 1/1000 gauge with the minute gauge when this watch was designed. I was hoping to be able to make more use out of the chronograph but due to the tiny minute gauge, I have not used the chronograph very much. The Chronograph The Chrono is fun to use. The buttons feel sturdy and everything functions. When starting the chrono, the second hand moves quickly into the 12 o clock position and then ticks (rather than sweeps) steadily. When stopping the chrono, the second hand resumes measuring real-world time. Cool! It is possible to pause and resume a chrono measurement. There is a gauge for measuring to the tenth and hundredth of a second which seems to be (sadly) a tad slow but I have not attempted to measure/calibrate it in any scientific way. Also, the 1/10 and 1/100 gauge stops moving after 30 seconds but provides a readout after the chono is stopped. For the first 30 seconds and for 30 seconds after resuming a chronograph measurement I am mesmerized by those tiny hands whirring around with high accuracy at such an incredible rate. The 1/1000 gauge does not move until the chronograph is stopped. So, it supposedly provides a final reading of the measurement to the precision of one one-thousandth of a second. The 1/1000 gauge is fun, but get real, there is no way anyone would ever use this or check it for accuracy without a robot. The human reaction time needed to depress the stop/start button totally negates any real usefulness of the 1/1000 gauge (or even 1/100 for that matter). I seriously question the 1/1000 gauge accuracy and challenge it's prominent placement on the face. Still, 1/1000 is kinda neat. The crown/water resistance Adjusting the time and date feels crisp and satisfying, both via the crown. There appears to be no issue with leakage or water submersion. I have not taken the watch diving, but showering and swimming is not a problem. Thanks I have enjoyed wearing this watch over the past 6 months. I hope the details of this review help someone make a decision one way or the other on this watch. I am afraid I have been bitten by the horology bug. I will be transitioning to a much different watch for a while... a Marathon GSAR automatic.

Love this watch, but came with no paper work and box had been opened.
Love the watch. Can't take a chance of something being wrong with it at this price. Box opened and no paper work.

Beautiful... but...
I paid the 800$.... With that being said I have a list of problems that hold me back from giving this watch the 5 stars and if you are planning on buying listen up: -The watch didn't come with a manual (when this should only be a problem for watches that have been returned) -The interior of the box was damaged (very similar to how some of the reviews have shown on their own) -Aparently this watch should have come with a serial number that tells you about its legitimacy, it did not... -I had a better unboxing experience with cheaper Wal-Mart watches than with this one... The beauty of the watch is rivaled only by watches that are twice the price of this one. The biggest downfall it the packaging and the quality control of the people that pack the watch in the box. But hopefully the company can fix this issue... I highly suggest buying a used one that was returned for a fraction of the price...

Great watch
Literally have three of these watches in their different style and it's the only one I wear. These are heavy watches with big faces so if that's not your style don't get it.

Amazing watch, but overseas buyers beware
I bought this from the UK, it took around 5 days to arrive from the US. The watch itself is brilliant. It is a stunning piece but it is rather heavy. The chronograph is quality and the smoothness of the movement is second to none. It looks a lot more expensive than it was. The only issue I have is not with the watch, but with the packaging. It was sent in the watch box in a thin brown bag that was Battered as it had to travel across the world. No bubble wrap or anything. Not end of the world but it was still a bit shocking and luckily the watch wasn't damaged but the watch moving around inside the case did damage the case inside. If you are in the market for a precisionist 98G228, then the only place to buy one from the UK is probably the US. It is worth it but beware of potential postage issues.

... it is very large indeed something that i am glad about as in the past i have read reviews ...
i have just received this watch after wanting it for a while i finally took the plunge having read the reviews first i must say that yes the watch does live upto the hype with regard to the size everyone says it is very large indeed something that i am glad about as in the past i have read reviews saying the same only to find it wasnt the case when i opened other watches this is for sure a monster size pretty heavy too in hand but feels well balanced on the wrist and soon gotten used to it looks absolutely stunning very shiny and slick the light bounces off the different facets of the watch strap and curved glass face also i find it easy to read especially in sunlight due to the fact the hands are shiny silver too and reflect the light off them the hands and hour markers do have a lume coating on them but it isnt a large amount but i can see them quite clearly in darkness as others have said the sweeping second hand is superb and the chronograph function is also amazing all in all this is one of my better watches if you are looking for a big chunky timepiece then you cant really go wrong with this one and at the price its a snip just go for it you wont regret it at all im well happy in addition i thought i would add after wearing this watch for a few days and reading a few other reviews that said they received the watch scratched on arrival i too when i opened the watch thought the same had happened to my watch on the clasp i didnt mention it at the time of writing the original review as it turned out to be just the plastic film covering the clasp that was extremely well put on and hard to differentiate from the actual metal surface but once removed it was in perfect new condition also the strap is extremely easy to alter yourself if you get the pin removal tool sold on amazon i did mine myself using the tool and took me in total about 5 mins to remove 3 links two links from one side of the bracelet and one link from the opposite side of the bracelet to balance it out rather than take all three links off one side the watch is keeping perfect time everything is running as it should and i have received many comments about how this watch looks mostly positive although some say it is a little too cluttered and large for their liking but each to their own i am still well chuffed with it and think it will be my go to watch for most occasions in the future for some time

Stunning watch.
What a watch. Large, well made. You definitely know you are wearing it. It is quite a weighty watch but I don't have a problem with that. The colour is great love it in grey. Much better than the silver version. I just need to wait until lockdown ends so I can get the braclet sized to me. I will update in a few months. But so far so good. ????

Should say for children
This is supposed to be a MANS watch ,did not fit on my little girls wrist ,have had to buy a complete new braclet ,hopefully this will do. Extra links £30 a piece ,cheaper to buy a full new strap.
