Wonderful small, ever stylish piece, that demonstrator's the eternal craft of a timeless genius. My only wish would be stained glass surrounding the central time piece. I obviously enjoy the clock, as the second purchase is a gift. December 2017, update; I wrote a piece about how well the test of time has taken, when Amazon required a new sign in, and all was lost. Simply, the clock looks the same as day one. Even the first battery. I did notice a point previously missed. The clock has a SWEEPING SECOND HAND! I have only seen this on my Rolex, and other very expensive Swiss watches. I am no horologist, but I very rarely see this. The clock keeps perfect time, and approving notice. If you cherish the architect, having an authorized piece from the FLW foundation, will help your heart keep that perfect beat! UPDATE AGAIN, ALMOST 7 YEARS First I should say the wood color is a much softer, nicer hue that should be a lovely addition to most any decor. As noted I purchased a second as a gift for my former therapist who sadly moved away to the large institute that my father had created. As the former head of Health and Human services in N Y, I rarely got the chance to see my parents, as their respective duties along with each owning large companies was a challenging time as a teen in college. Perhaps I should have added a gift for my dad, as when I was given the honor of twice performing at the Kennady Center, neither managed to show up. For all the driven people who dream of having over one hundred thousand employees, just keep in mind that unless you make time for your families, the excitement of a solo performance before thousands of people can be very lonely when no loved one could squeeze in the dream of your life. I do not remember if they cared enough to ask. But this is not my review update. As I write this, I am pleasantly gazing at my (still) beautiful clock. It has remained as punctual and attractive as the day it arrived. The clock not only keeps perfect time, I cannot remember having to replace the batteries more than once, and that year is uncertain. With so many battery gobbling devices this clock is VERY fruggle. I am using rechargeable batteries so the maintenance cost is negligible. This is a very lovely clock who's only wish was my previous desire for (real) stained glass. I would have gladly paid for this option. Would you not believe Mr. Wright would have preferred this? He was a genius who notoriously ended up with expenses doubling or trebleing his initial quotations. Thankfully, his patrons were so enamored with the completion that he rarely faced scorn. Imagion that happening today. As an Architect and Interior Designer, in my portfolio of degrees, I am so happy to have a clock authorized by the Wright foundation. I realize that a good portion of the cost of this is its authentication. My doctor was also an avid fan, so the gift went to a good home. I continue to be very pleased with this purchase. In an era when the name on a product rarely guarantees the quality or ownership of a respected product of my youth (ie Rubbermade), this clock is still on time, and I very happy.
