Genuine Birggs @ Stratton Carburator
I did reserch and read many reviews. I have a Toro Mower that is over 25 years old. I tried starting this mower spraying starting fluid into the carpurator and the engine did start. So I knew it was not gatting any gas and it was a prolbem with the carburator. The first time I replased the carburator it did not come from amazon and it cost me $35 dollars to replace it. The mower was surging reviing high an low. That told me the carburator was defective I googled the briggs and straton model number and serial number this is what I saw I kew it was coming from amazon that I was not going to have issues. I put in the genuine carburator from Birggs and Straton. The mower was running like new again! I buy freash gas and change the oil every spring. Every year and store my mower in a garage. Every November after thanksgiving the grass stops growing. I drain the gas from my mower and put it in my car. I have been cutting lawns as a landscaper for years. Amazon saved me a lot of money. I did not have to go through the trouble buying a new mower. Sears wanterd to charge me $80 dollars for the same carburator. So amazon saved me a lot of money. Now I can take care of my yard.

Super easy carb replacement, even Forrest Gump could do it.
This is a great carburetor, and got the engine running like new in less than 10 minutes. This carburetor is for engines with the primer bulb. If you have the auto-choke carburetor, I believe you will need a different part number. Super easy, 10 minute instructions on how to replace carburetor: 1) Remove top plastic shroud from engine. Should be held on with three Phillips head screws. 2) Remove plastic air cleaner cover. The bolt is 5/16. Remove air cleaner. 3) Remove plastic air cleaner housing assembly. There are three 5/16 bolts holding it on to the carburetor. This air filter housing gets filthy dirty so take the time to clean it with soapy water or carburetor cleaner before you put it back on the engine. 4) Remove the fuel line from the carburetor fuel inlet. The clamp can be squeezed with a pair of pliers and slid down the fuel line away from the carburetor. Stick a golf tee or small bolt in in the fuel line to prevent fuel from leaking. 5) Remove the two 3/8 bolts holding the carburetor to the engine. The carburetor comes right off. You will have to twist it 90 degrees to remove the throttle linkage from the top of the carburetor. 6) Remove the rubber o-ring from the engine intake. replace the o-ring with the new one included with the new carburetor. 7) Attach the new carburetor up to the throttle linkage by rotating it 90 degrees. Attach it to the engine with the 3/8 bolts. Reattach the fuel line and slide the clamp back up to the base of the carburetor. 8) Using the gasket included with the carburetor, replace the gasket that attached to the back of the air cleaner housing assembly. Attach the plastic air cleaner assembly to the carburetor with the three 5/16 bolts. 9) Replace the air cleaner with a new one if dirty. It is Briggs & Stratton part number 491588S. In my experience the aftermarket filters work just as good and are a few dollars cheaper each. 10) Attach the aircleaner cover with the 5/16 bolt. 11) Replace the plastic shroud on the top of the engine with the three Phillips head screws. 12) Make sure the engine is fueled up. Pump the primer bulb 5 times and the engine should start on the second or third pull if you did everything correctly and run like new again.

This carb worked as expected. Better then the last knock off carb that was different internally

use two gaskets
If you buy this or get a rebuilt one, be sure to use two gaskets to allow for the gasoline to flow through more easily, and I hope your lawn mower will work like mine, with one or two pulls after pushing the primer button a couple of times, if yours has one. I was using one gasket and found someone who suggested two, and am glad I did. You may want to get this carb as well as a rebuilt one, and see which one works the best. The cost is much less than getting it repaired at the shop, no matter what. Good luck.

Finally, my mower works again!
I rebuilt my whole 2 year old Briggs & Stratton mower motor after it was left outside for a whole winter in Seattle and it still had trouble starting. I would have to keep pressing the primer button while it first warmed up and it would finally continue running after about 1 minute of priming. I figured, since the whole motor was cleaned and rebuilt, it wasn't that old, and it seemed to be fuel issues that caused the problem, that I should blame the carburetor. I wasn't willing to rebuild the carburetor since I have tried on old cars and it never seems to be the same as a new one. They seem like such simple devices, but they operate so precisely. I replaced the old carburetor, with this one, in about 10 minutes and primed it and the mower started immediately. I have not had an issue since, in the last 6 months, and I believe it will continue running until I leave the mower uncovered again for a winter. Great product, exactly as described. Worth the extra money to get the whole assembly instead of buying the parts to "repair" your existing carburetor.

Was the correct part and it fixed my issue
Direct original replacement part from Briggs & Stratton (wanted OEM and no hassles), came with the o-ring and gasket. Solved my issue; which was mower would start and run for about a minute then cut out and would not run again. Previously we had thought it was old gas. Also purchased the air filter as it looked like it had not been changed in years. Definitely a DIY project, no need to pay someone to do this.

Carburetor worked right out of the box, lawnmower started after 1st pull.
Packaging was not the best. Thin box that held the carb and gaskets opened up during delivery and everything was found in the bubble bag. Luckily no damage, but either tape the box before putting in bag or use a more substantial secondary shipping box.

Beware
I installed this carb in my lawn mower as a direct replacement as other have. Unfortunately, the float had a hairline crack and would fill with gas resulting in the float not doing it’s job and the bowl over flowing into and out of the primer bulb. This ruined both the gasket and the air filter. Now I need a new float, gasket and filter to cut my grass.

Less than 1/2 price from local!
My local lawnmower shop wanted up to 3x the money for this (without installation!). And, they werent willing to price match :( This fit easily (basically 4 fasteners). Once reinstalled, the lawnmower fired right up! Nice grass again :)

Worked Fine Right Out of the Box
Not 100% sure this is an OEM part - it came in a box with several languages written on it. No instruction sheet included. Says it's made in China. Made out of machined aluminum versus the original part which was a cast alloy. Nonetheless, I installed it on my Quantum 650 engine, primed and it started on the second pull. Not bad for an engine that has not run for over eight years! Working great after two hours of use.
