It Fits
It Fits. The trick is getting it to screw in tight enough to hold.

Well machined. Needs driver slot or internal hex.
Difficult to drive without damaging threads.

For John Deere E100 series tractors to delete easy change
I used this for the Briggs and Stratton 724cc that came with my Deere E130. There was some weird oil filter contraption that I had to remove out of the way before installing this. There are youtube videos that can help with that process. When installing this, I used blue Loc-tite on the threads and let it set for 24 hours before warming up the engine. Use Motorcraft FL-910s oil filter, which is superior to the Deere or Briggs filter, or even the Fram that the other reviewer recommended. Compare the drainback valve material and notice that Motorcraft includes a large bypass valve, where the Deere or Briggs filters do not.

Not at your local hardware store
I thought this was a regular nipple, but i could not find it at a local hardware store. My Riding mower had a cover for the filter. I removed it to see if it had this stud but it did not. When i closed it, i must have torn the gasket, because when i started the mower, oil went all over the place. I could not find a gasket anywhere to replace it, so i got this stud instead of installed an oil filter. my issue was fixed, and now i can clean the oil :).

B&S Original Part
Vendor Review: Great Product Review: Great Other than prompt shipping by vendor, there's not much to say about this part. The nipple is a B&S original part needed to fit my engine with an oil filter for longer life. Retro-fitting block with oil filter: A factory-installed blockoff plate has an attached nipple with oil galley threaded into block at the factory. The blockoff plate is sealed or glued into the block (thread lock/sealer) and quite difficult to remove. I used a large, very tight hose clamp and knocked it loose with a hammer and punch (held against the clamp screw). It took a bit of doing but finally came loose. The replacement nipple threads into the block and needs to be glued into the block for proper installation. Install the oil filter once the sealer/glue "sets." Recommend buyers ensure they either have some thread lock/sealer on hand or purchase some along with the nipple. Note when refilling that the engine will require more oil once the filter is installed. Use $4 Fram oil filters, which cost approximately 25% of that marketed by B&S.

John Deere dumb idea
John Deere came up with the not very bright idea that a $42 oil change that does not change all the oil beats the Briggs and Stratton system that costs about a third per oil change of the Deere system. The 690954 nipple is the simple conversion.

Perfect fit.
3/4 - 16 Fit and finish are high quality, and can be used as a replacement for Chevy small block V8 engine as well as Harley Davidson oil filter nipple.

Fit the John Deere S130
I used this to convert my lawn tractor over from the easy change filter system. Expensive for what it is but fit. Still cheaper and better than continuing to use the filter system that came on the tractor. As others say it does not allow a tool to easily thread it onto the motor. I used locktite to make sure it stays snug.

Great fit!
Did the oil filter conversion on my John Deere s120 easy 30 second oil change to a regular oil filter. This oil filter nipple fit perfectly, added some thread lock on the engine side to prevent it from backing off. A little pricey for what it is but hey it will save me plenty of $$$ in the long run.

Correct size for Briggs and Stratton
Other nipples have ridges on one inside so they can be tightened with an allen key without damaging the threads.
