great privacy, pretty design

I think this is overall a great product. The floral design is pretty without being too distractingly busy, and the deep embossing gives it an occasional rainbow glint prism effect when the lights shine at certain angles both during the day and at night. It lets in plenty of light while providing an excellent level of privacy. It does have a slight vinyl smell when installing, but I am hopeful that will fade. Installation was easy: cut to size, strip off clear backing, spray water on the window, stick film onto window and squeegee out the water and air bubbles. Note that there is a tiny gap around the edges when installed (so you can get the water/air out well enough) so someone could perhaps possibly peek in, but I think that's a minor concern. I took one star off because I have used a lot of different window film, and compared to Artscape products (which have a similar price point) I did not think this item was quite as good. The backing is a clear cellophane type of film, instead of a heavier weight coated paper like Artscape, which made cutting a straight line trickier because the scissors tended to wobble a bit through the vinyl. Brewster also does not include a tiny squeegee in their kit like Artscape does (but they do recommend using one for best results). Also, after a day I am seeing some lifting on one of the corners of the installed film, which I have not seen in other products. I will try again to get those to stay put. However, the design is beautiful, and overall I am happy with this purchase. Edited to add a note 8/2015: This film has done really well! I recently moved some of the film to a new window, and it was able to be peeled off and then re-used without any problem. The corners always did stay a bit lifted, so when I moved it I changed to a smaller size window, and trimmed the edges--now it stays flat. I think the stronger vinyl smell is just a part of this product, it has faded but I did still notice a bit when I was installing (although I am hyper sensitive to scent). Still happy with this design, it is lovely and neutral.

Not a COMPLETE privacy film but VERY PRETTY

If you are looking for a window film that completely obscures the view from out side, this may not be the film for you. I have it on my back kitchen door. A "normal" door ( not a sliding, patio type door) except for the fact that most of the door (from top to bottom) is glass . I have a 6 Ft privacy fence and my nearest neighbors are about 60 feet away, not to mention that I don't walk around naked in my kitchen Ha-Ha so I wasn't looking to completely block the view from outside. I wanted something to partially block the view from outside while letting the light in. The "cut glass" flowers look very elegant and when applied correctly (not hard) no one can tell that this is window film! Someone came to the house (who'd rented the house before WE bought it) and when they saw the door they exclaimed " OH! you had a new door put in, how beautiful!" They were shocked when we told them it was window film. I want you to know that if I were in the kitchen with the overhead (bright ) light on, someone outside ( a prowler/pervert ) could see that I was in the room moving about, although it would be blurry. So just to be clear, if you need to Partially obscure a window this film is elegant and beautiful, it lets the light in and you can still see if someone were standing in front of your door (and THEY could see you, but not "make" you out .

Fabulous product!. Great value!

ABSOLUTELY DROP DEAD GORGEOUS! It looks like actually etched glass. I have it right next to a set of real stained glass and it is hard to tell the difference. Our house is rather close to the neighbors house and at night that portion of the window is low enough that they could possibly see me in my recliner. I have shutters, but don't like to shut them all the way. This was the perfect solution. There is enough of a pattern that one cannot make out anything other than a light being on inside. I walked outside to see how they looked on the exterior and they look BEAUTIFUL! They were extremely easy to measure, cut and apply. If I could have rated this a 10 out of 5, I would have! LOVE IT!

A wonderful Product

This is one of the greatest purchases I have ever made... This is a perfect product and so Beautiful !!! I rent out a sub level apartment so the windows are ground level. The last several tenants have keep their shades drawn and drapes closed for years !! Because they think people are looking in their windows. So I got the idea to use this type of product to let in tons of light while providing complete privacy. The windows look absolutely gorgeous , and from the outside of the house as well. They catch the light perfectly and sometimes have a rainbow effect where you can see the colors of the spectrum. These pictures dont do justice to the way they really look !!

Pretty and Functional for Privacy

This looks really great on my window and does the trick without having to drill holes for curtain rods. It lets the light in and gives us privacy for our front door. It was challenging to install - you need to use a lot of water on the glass. I did it by myself, but it would be easier with two people. It fit almost perfect, I just trimmed the edges with an x-acto knife where I couldn't get it placed exactly. Overall very happy.

Very good quality film

This is great privacy film for the right price. Everyone who see this film is much pleased. We had to tell them it is film not the glass before they could realize it. Easy to apply, sturdy and pretty nice designs with privacy while not blocking light.

Pretty Window Covering

Needed some sort of privacy glass cover in the water closet so the blinds could be open all day. This pattern is beautiful and was easy enough to apply to the glass. Now I get light and filtered sun all day. Great purchase!!

Solved a problem with style

Beautiful for our shower window which is an octagon shape. Impossible to find a covering that worked for us until we found this. Really easy to install. The design is so pretty.
