don't understand the complaints about mounting it. the backplate has a keyhole slot to mount on a hook or screw (presumably one already present), a wide flat surface you can put some tape on, and a 1/4-20 hole where you could mount a suction cup for smooth surfaces (glass, tile). i'm not sure how the complainers expect to mount on drywall other than these methods ... for the price this is basically as good as you can expect. it's not perfect-perfect. i do wish the bubble had a sighting hole from the top, and that a 1/4-20 hole were on the level itself. the only advantage the $100 laser levels have over this one is being multi-axis. this level does not seem durable enough to warrant a "professional" rating, however as with most things, if the product name includes the word professional -- it isn't. for my use, around the house, it's great.

Laser Works Very Well.

The laser itself is excellent. The line goes well beyond the advertised 16 feet and is visible in most indoor lighting conditions. The mount though is very difficult to use as a wall mount. The instructions say to mount it on a screw on the wall. If you put the screw at the height you want for your shelves, the line projected by the laser will be about 1/2 inch below that. Also, the laser is not balanced on the screw hole, so if you use a screw, the laser will tilt downwards. This makes getting the line exactly where you want it very difficult. There are small holes in the top and bottom of the mount that are not mentioned in the instructions. These can be used with push pins to steady the mount, but it takes a bit of trial and error to get the line where you want it.

Good laser level

I have a few tools by BOSCH. All BOSCH tools are reliable and easy to use. I think, Bosch GLL 1P Laser Level may be one of the favorite tools. This level is made of high quality material, which creates a pleasant feeling in the hands. Keep this level in the hands gives aesthetic pleasure. Small Bosch GLL 1P convenient to put in your pocket and can be taken with you even on those works where the use of laser level has not planned. I've used it several times. I see that it provides a fairly good accuracy. It's ease to use Bosch GLL 1P. Among the shortcomings I would like to highlight one. The manufacturer is not included in the kit suitable bag or case. I love tools and handle them with care. However, I do not know how to ensure the safety of Bosch GLL 1P if I have not a pouch or case. Conclusion. I like Bosch GLL 1P and I can recommend it to other buyers.

Level not level on a flat surface

It's a nice product, but the problem is that when the one I received is placed flat on a table, one of the bubbles isn't actually level. Underneath the level are three metal nubs, and one of them is shorter than the others. The lasers are bright, but the line laser doesn't have a very wide beam. As something for helping with angles, it's OK, much better than the free laser bubble level that came with a drill. As a Bosch product, it's lacking.

Does the job

I’ve used this for hanging pictures. Over the years I’ve found that bubble levels are not always a good as you would think they might be but the ones in this gadget seem to be right on. At least on my walls the suction cup part of the device does not stick so you may need two people to use this - one to hold it in place and another to mark locations etc. Probably there should be a big warning label not to look into the laser although you would think that by 2019 that would be as common knowledge as “don’t rest your hand in a hot stove top”

Does the job in establishing a level line but issue with securing to wall.

A little pricey but purchased on the hopes it would replace the five other types of laser levels. The only issue is the same as with all others and that is attaching to the wall. There is a key hole on the back that you fit into a screw inserted in the wall. Every time you have to or want to move it you have to put another screw in the wall. Not a big deal with a painted wall but would be a big problem when wall papering. Bought a magnet at HD that I plan to see if that will work. Other than the issue of attaching to the wall the laser line is just like all the rest.

Weak laser

The laser is weak. Point laser is weak and the line laser line is hardly a few feet. This is at best for small scale checking at night. Do not expect lasers to work during the day or in bright light . The battery cover is flimsy and without adequate locks, keeps falling off, a sign of poor build. Just not capable for use in Construction sites. At best hobbyists may use for casual work.

I Seldom bought a product that made me angry, this one does. Nothing professional about this tool

It starts with the packaging, which is 4 times larger then product. Unit is encased in one of these clear hard plastic mouldings which is impossible to open easily without sharp tools. An environmental nightmare and dangerous to open. The tool itself has no cradle , bag or other means to carry in your toolbox. It is virtually impossible to adjust the tool in two axis's. The wall holder setup is laughable, the base should be flat on both sides that one can fasten it with a wood screw from the outside. The major flaw is that the adjustability to level the tool in 2 and never mind in 3 axis is not possible, despite using a high end camera tripod. The horizontal and vertical bevels are extremely sensitive and the magnetic attachment to the base is not positive enough to keep laser level in position. I make my living in precision woodworking and use a gimballed laser level most often. So I know what I am talking about. Fiddling with this tool drives you crazy, even if you have the time to do it. The manual is a piece of beauty to, one has to rifle trough pages to find the corresponding descriptions. Overall this tool is designed by people that never worked on a real job. I own some very good Bosch tools, especially routers, but this is one to stay away from. I will send it back to Amazon

It can leaves marks on the wall.

Bought this laser level thinking that it will work better than the traditional level Pro - solid build quality. Something you would expect from Bosch - compact Con - I generally use the level by itself, without the base as I don't want to stick the base to the wall with tape. Because the level is narrow and small, it does take a steady hand to keep it level. A slight movement of fingers or hand can make the laser out of alignment/level. - My biggest complaint is that this level can mark up your wall/paint, specially if the wall is white. The underside of the side has a small metal ball point where the level rests against the surface (e.g. wall). When you place the level on the wall and adjust it to keep it level, the metal ball can and will mark your wall. I had to put a piece of scotch tape over the metal to prevent it from leaving marks on my wall paint. It's a nice little level but I probably wouldn't have bought if I knew it would mark up the wall when using it.
