Sturdy bag

I ordered this Vera Bradley Cotton Oversized Hobo Shoulder Bag because I had never owned a Vera Bradley bag before and was curious as to what all the fuss was about. I am pleased to report that this appears to be a high-quality bag. The fabric is soft and has a quilted appearance and feel. The stitching is nice, and all three zippers (one large and two smaller) glide smoothly. One thing I didn't like was that you can't remove the smaller handle when you want to clip on the larger one. I'm also not sure what I'll do with this bag. For me, the look and feel make this a bag to take to the pool. However, I would be unable to include any of my children's belongings. It is certainly large enough for one oversized towel, a swimsuit, a hairbrush, and a book. When you need to add more towels and other items, however, this bag becomes too small. However, it is too large to be used as a purse. Perhaps it can serve as an alternative to my backpack when I need to transport my laptop somewhere. This bag does appear to be strong enough to support that much weight.

Pretty

I’ve always been curious about these bags, and this one is nice. It’s a tiny smaller than I imagined, but plenty room for my essentials: wallet, phone, snacks. The material is the nice quilted stuff that VB is known for. I like that it comes with two straps. There’s a short one that I can hold in my hand or throw over my shoulder. Another long one means this bag can be used as a crossbody. The print is nice, and just as pictured. And the hardware and stitching is neat. Happy with this. Though it’s a little more expensive than I’m used to paying for a cloth bag!

Vera Bradley hobo bag

This Vera Bradley bag is beautiful. It is a lot bigger than I thought it would be. The colors are stunning. They make the bag stand out. The stiching on the whole bag is tight making the material strong. You can feel how well made this bag is just by holding it. The zipper works great. It is easily zipped and unzipped. I did this repeatedly to see if the zipper would get hung up, but it never happened. You have two extra pockets made inside the bag. To keep important items in. You know what I mean the items we can't do without like our favorite perfume or our makeup to freshen up our face as needed. It comes with a hand strap and an adjustable shoulder strap as well. If you don't want the shoulder strap just put it up and use the hand strap to carry it around. If you decide to use the shoulder strap you can decide on the length. Meaning you can turn it into a should bag or a cross body bag either one. This is my first Vera Bradley bag and I love it. Its beautiful and everything you would expect in a upper scale handbag. I want to add that by reading the tag when I received the bag I found out this bag is part of her breast cancer collection series. I also found out she has a foundation set up for breast cancer. I can't believe this is my first Vera Bradley bag and I'm only now finding this stuff out. But I can tell you it won't be my last. Not only is the bags stunning and well made, but when you buy one you are helping fight breast cancer. You can't get better than that. This is 5 stars all the way.

Lovely pattern

This bag is larger than I expected but this isn't an issue. This bag can be used as an overnight bag, travel bag, shopping bag, diaper bag, etc. The pattern is pretty and the bag is versatile. It comes with a short strap and a shoulder strap. The interior has 2 pockets and a zippered pouch. Beautiful as expected. You can't go wrong with Vera Bradley.

Nice, large bag

I am reviewing “Vera Bradley Cotton Oversized Hobo Shoulder Bag”. This bag is quite large yet light in weight because it is made from quilted fabric. The fabric is a good quality cotton, and it has machine quilting all over in a diamond pattern. It is excellent quality as expected from Vera Bradley. There are 2 slip pockets and 1 zipper pocket on the interior, and 1 hidden zipper pocket on the outside. This large bag is great for travel. Would be perfect for any length trip. My family travels overseas occasionally and having a large purse for the long flight is a necessity so I can have all my essentials right with me. This will easily hold my usual wallet, iPhone, lip balm and sunglasses, plus the things I need for the trip such as passport, cash, snacks, water bottle, earphones, travel pillow, and a lightweight sweater. If you’ve ever flown from LAX to MNL or BKK, you know what I’m talking about!

Fantastic bag!

It's a little bigger than I'd carry for a purse (I'm much more of a small purse type), but this bag is beautiful and well-designed. It even has a semi-hidden zipper pocket that opens to the exterior of the bag that it big enough to hold most smartphones (my favorite feature!) The short, fixed strap is solid, sturdy, and stiff, so if you prefer to carry your hobo style bags higher up, this should do nicely no matter how much weight is in the bag. Also included is an adjustable shoulder strap that will allow you to carry the bag more like a tote or cross-body style. The interior of the bag is ample enough to carry quite a bit of stuff, and features a large zippered pocket with a pair of smaller pockets just below it on one side of the bag. I don't think I'd overload these, as the lining fabric isn't very thick, but for organizing the usual daily-carry smaller items like lip balms, checkbooks(? does anyone carry these anymore?), or similar, they will do fine. The base of the bag is flat and a good width for a purse or small tote bag. The overall bag is good quality, typical (IMHO) of Vera Bradley stuff. It's made from a quilted cotton fabric, so I wouldn't plan on letting this thing get wet. The main feature that enamored me upon receiving the bag is that hidden phone pocket! That's just plain genius. This is a great bag, if the style and fabric print suit you. I plan to use mine as more of a tote bag than a purse, but it should work well in both scenarios.

Large tote

This tote has been so helpful to me! I carry this daily to work since it will fit my lunch, sweater and anything else that I need to take to the office with me. The print is cute and the bag is constructed well.
