SO perfect
I absolutely adore this purse for travel AND everyday use! Awesome space in a bag that isn't too bulky and is even lightweight. Super sturdy, awesome security features, and can even carry not one but TWO water bottles. 100% recommend! I even get it as a gift for friends, and they love it, too.

Has the most pockets on a Travelon bag.
I spent hours online searching for a decent anti-theft bag for travel (I looked at eBags, PacSafe, and Baggallini) and settled for this Travelon bucket bag. Why? 1) I am 5'1" and most of the travel backpacks, though extremely practical, are too big for me. 2) It is reasonably priced, and I got an even better deal through the Amazon warehouse PLUS my Amazon store credits. After all the discounts, I paid only $28 for mine. 3) It is big enough to fit my Nikon 5400 DSLR with a mid-range lens. This was one of its selling points for me, although we ended up sticking the camera into my husband's backpack during travel. 4) It was important for me that the bag has many pockets, and this one delivers! It has two front pockets, one of which has a lockable zipper, a back pocket for my phone, and two adjustable side pockets. The main compartment has an inner zipped pocket and multiple credit card slots (which I used for train tickets). 5) It can be worn as a crossbody or a shoulder bag. Because I'm short, even with the strap at its shortest, I can still use the bag as a crossbody. Although the bag met many of my requirements, I dock a star from my ratings because: 1) The bag isn't as deep as advertised. It is about half an inch less of the advertised depth. And I really needed that measly extra half inch depth. 2) I don't like the way the strap is designed. One end is stitched into the bag, and the other end has a hook. This makes the strap twist when I adjust it from shoulder bag to crossbody, and it's hard to make it lay flat against my back. 3) The advertised photo shows the bag in an upright position. Umm, no. It is not as structured as pictured. Because it is made of nylon and polyester, the bag is slouchy and does not stand upright on its own. Fortunately, I have an old purse insert that fits perfectly into the bag (and gives me even more pockets), and that helped me keep everything structured and organized. 4) The side pockets cannot hold my Phillips filtered water bottle even with the zippers fully open. They can hold a Kirkland water bottle, though it is still a tight fit. They can hold a compact Totes umbrella though. Since we had a backpack that held the umbrella and water bottles nicely, I used one side pocket for tissues and hand sanitizer, and the other for a selfie stick. I am still happy with this bag despite its flaws. I dropped it at an outdoor cafe in Versailles with my smaller bridge camera and iPhone in it. My camera and phone were undamaged. The bag's material, which isn't thoroughly smooth, held onto some grains of sand and dirt even after we brushed it with our hands and some paper napkins. But we later got to clean it off at the hotel with a soft shoe brush we travel with in our shoe bags. I don't know how long this bag will last me, but as far as our trip went, it held up very well with all my zipping and unzipping during a regular day. I believe this is the best bang for your buck, as far as Travelon bags go, with its relatively good Goldilocks size, multiple pockets, and anti-theft features. I'm looking to buy another one (a more fun color this time) for playing tourist in my own city.

Wife Took it to UK on a trip and loves it
Very well constructed/sewed. Medium size bucket purse that you can cram a bunch of stuff in. Wife is very happy with the purchase. In and out of it 20 times a day on a recent trip to the UK-NO ISSUES. Still looks brand new.

Lots of storage room
When we travel, I like a purse with outside pockets at each end of the bag to hold my water bottle and a small umbrella, as well as plenty of room inside. This bag is the perfect size to hold everything, including a rolled up shirt for cold museums or buses, but not too big. I love knowing it has all the safety features, including a slash-proof bottom. I have a navy blue one I've used for several years, and decided to add the black one to my collection! I did have to use a pair of pliers to close up all of the outside zipper pulls, as they would catch on clothing and pull threads. Two negatives on the bag: (1) one of the zipper pulls on one of the end pockets broke off after about a month of use. I can still zip it up and down, just don't have a zipper pull. (2) It seems that no matter how you adjust the strap, the slide is always on top of your shoulder bone, making it very uncomfortable. Wish it could be put somewhere else on the strap.

Travelon handbag
I like this bag. It is big enough to hold all my stuff and can be either a shoulder bag or a cross body bag. It is easily cleaned if you spill something on it. I like the zippered pockets too.

Cross-Body Bucket Bag vs Classic Messenger Bag
I got both the cross-body bucket bag and the classic messenger back to compare which one would work for me on travel/hiking trip. So far it can hold a good amount of stuff my stuff in each pocket without feeling too tight. I was able to fit my 26oz water bottle (3in diameter) in either of the side pockets but it was a little tight getting it in one side vs the other (probably just a manufacturing issue). Definitely could not fit anything with a greater diameter than my water bottle in either of the side mesh pockets. Even though my water bottle is longer than the average water bottle, I don't think it will fall out of the pocket (so far it hasn't but I will update once I have gone on my trip). I could also fit my keys, flashlight, pocket knife, portable tooth brush/tooth paste, headphones, nail kit, deodorant, combo lock, pens, chapstick, extra hair ties, small umbrella, sunglasses/case, portable charger and phone/watch charger case, mask, feminine hygiene products, iPhone 11pro, and large wallet (plan on utilizing the built-in pockets for this but wanted to see if it could fit) inside the bucket bag. The front pocket was fairly full but I could still get to everything without needing to take stuff out first. The middle pocket had some extra room if I wanted to put a second pair of sunglasses or something inside, but then it would be a bit packed in there. The back pocket had extra room that I could easily fit extra snacks or smaller items. I have not gone on my trip yet but I will try to remember to update this review afterward to report how the bag felt during the trip and how it held up with all the activities we plan on doing there. Weight-wise, it does get a little heavy (mostly if my water bottle is full) and since the strap is reinforced and a bitt stiffer, it isn't the most comfortable cross-body strap I have used. However, just a quick re-adjustment of the strap location every once in a while alleviates the slight discomfort and I have been able to wear it for a few hours in a row while running errands without it bothering me. If I could change anything so far (prior to taking it on my trip), I would like for the zip locks to be on the other side. I carry my cross-body bag on my right side (strap on my left shoulder) and having the zipper on the right side of the bag when it is closed is just an extra hassle for me as I need to move the bag a little more in front of me to unlock the zip locks with two hands instead of unlocking it with one hand. Overall, I think the back is aesthetically pleasing to look at for a travel bag, can hold a good amount of stuff without feeling overpacked, and the zip locks seem to be effective. If the strap was a bit more comfortable, the water bottle pockets a little bigger, and the zip closures flipped around then I would give this bag a 5/5 star rating. As far as comparing this cross-body bucket bag with the classic messenger bag: the messenger bag is a good bit smaller. It has a sleeker look to it but it can only hold my keys, flashlight, pocket knife, portable tooth brush/tooth paste, headphones, nail kit, deodorant, combo lock, pens, chapstick, extra hair ties, small umbrella (in the exterior mesh pockets only), mask, iPhone 11pro, and large wallet. It was also a much tighter fit with all of this stuff in it and would likely need to take stuff out of the middle pocket to reach the stuff at the bottom. My mom is planning to use this bag on our trip as she hasn't carried a purse in a long time and only plans on using it for holding a typical 16oz water bottle, glucose tablets, phone, sunglasses/case, and a tri-fold wallet. I don't have a 16oz water bottle to see if it would fit but my umbrella can easily fit in the side mesh pockets so I imagine it will fit fine. Worst case, I will end up carrying it in the second mesh pocket of the messenger bag. If you want something smaller, this bag will do just fine. Just do not plan on carrying anything in the side mesh pockets greater than 2in diameter (maybe 2.5in max).

Security
Locking compartments. Was warned by tour guide daily to be careful cause pickpocketers were everywhere in Italy. Never wore any jewelry while there just to not draw attention

Great for holidays and days out.
Great bag for travelling this is the second Travelon bag I have brought. I love that you can carry a drink in the side pocket and it has a lot of compartments to organise things in. Love the pattern too.

Percect daybag for my India trip
Used this as a daybag for a month-long trip to India and it was perfect. Useful compartments, good quality, felt safe and secure, and a good size - could fit in a litre bottle of water within the main compartment which was useful, as well as smaller bottle compartments on the exterior. Used it in Mumbai and big cities as well as on long rural walks and it worked well
