Incredible Latte Cups!

I originally had purchased some cheap latte stoneware cups at Target thinking that a cup is just a cup and it didn't really matter much. Boy... was I wrong! After spending significant time making cafe lattes in the morning, I kept noticing that my lattes would get cold very quickly. It was incredibly frustrating. I soon realized my cheap Target cups were just radiating heat. You could feel all the heat loss on the outside of the cup. So, I did some research online and saw that these Bodum cups were highly rated by many users. And although they were significantly more expensive than my cheap cups, I gave them a try. All I can say is... Wow! These are a total game changer! Night and day. My lattes stay hot for an incredibly long time. Even when I'm close to finishing the drink, with very little coffee at the bottom of the cup, it's still hot. And the telltale sign is that you don't feel heat radiation on the outside of these cups. The double wall keeps the liquid hot for a very long time. The manufacturing quality of these cups is very good. They are made from borosilicate glass which is much more durable glass. It is the same glass used in medical grade flasks and beakers. Apparently even Pyrex used to make their measuring cups out of this more durable glass until they decided to cut costs and go with a cheaper glass (borosilicate glass is more expensive). But, these cups are definitely worth the extra cost!... In this case you get what you pay for. However, as with any glass cup, I'm sure they can break if you get too rough with them or put them in the dishwasher next to/touching other glasses. For that reason I always hand wash mine. Also, Bodum recommends that you don't use metal spoons with them (prevents them from cracking/breaking). So, I picked up a box of plastic spoons at Costco to use with them. You can also find small wooden spoons on Amazon that I'm sure would work well too. Again, these are after all made of glass (even if it is a much stronger glass) and glass can break. But as long as you don't get too rough with them and don't stack them on other dishes in the dishwasher, they should last a very long time. Excellent cups!!

The best mug to drink a Latte out of!

Keeps your coffee nice and warm and also looks aesthetically pleasing! Everyone wants to drink out of these when given a choice of mugs. Great size for lattes.

Disappointed - did I get a faulty coffee cup?

These cups are supposed to be dishwasher safe, but somehow my coffee gets trapped in between the glass seal. Consequently, they always look dirty! I’m so disappointed! I typically like this brand and these are my first coffee cups by Bodum. I had planned to buy a set and replace my old coffee cups, but that’s not going to happen now. Note: This pic is a ‘clean’ coffee cup!

Poor quality, poor customer service.

I LOVED these cups when they arrived. However, I used them maybe twice before one of them broke when I barely tapped it taking it out of the dishwasher (seriously. barely.). I asked customer service if there was anything they could do, and I received a laundry list of things you shouldn't do with glass; don't stack it, don't place it next to cutlery, blah blah blah. I hadn't done any of those things. Bottom line, they either sent me a defective glass or their glass is too fragile to place in the dishwasher. There are plenty of other double walled borosilicate glasses on Amazon that are far cheaper than these with much better customer service reviews. HARD PASS.

Bodum Bistro 2 Piece double wall 15 oz Cafe Latte Cup

Bodum Bistro 2 Piece double wall 15 oz Cafe Latte Cups are well made and thicker than the cheaper double walled cups out there. I've purchased the other brand cups out there and they just don't last and break really easy. These cups are high quality and would make a great Christmas gift!

Impressive insulation, nice style

The insulation of these mugs really impressed me. The vacuum technology really works. I was used to needing to drink up from a ceramic mug within just a few minutes of pouring. In these cups, I actually have to wait at least 5 minutes for it to cool down to where it’s not still too hot for me to sip. The shape of a traditional euro latte cup combined with the vacuum chamber construction give the set a neat style too. They would work well and look good for any coffee serving occasion or just your morning cup. Performance and style were really good with this set. Recommended if you are wanting good insulated performance at home without the to-go mug look.

I love these for cappuccino

My favorite espresso drink is cappuccino and these cups are best if you enjoy looking at your wonderful espresso layers. I make my own cappuccino and when I can see espresso shot and milk and foam layers, it adds to the experience and it's fun. Just like any other glass cups, you should be careful when handling to ensure you don't bang it against anything hard and avoid thermal shock if you can.

Stronger & Tougher Than Cheaper Brands

These coffee mugs aren’t brittle like other glass mugs. I have knocked mine a few time without breaking it. They aren’t cheap but will hopefully last a long time. Not for people who don’t like a thick cup which the double wall creates.

Much better quality than cheaper double-wall mugs. Fits in the espresso machine. It's a bit more expensive than some other double-wall mugs, but many of the cheaper ones are not dishwasher-safe. I have two friends who actually cracked such mugs from the hot water in the dishwasher. What's the point of having coffee mugs that you have to hand-wash? These have silicon membrane in the bottom to breathe, so the expanding air inside won't crack the glass. Also the borosilicate glass is strong enough to withstand temperature changes. At least so far so good - we've used the 4 mugs for a few weeks, dishwashing them almost every day, and so far no cracks. They keep the coffee hot really well and the size is huge, just like I like it, while they still fit under the espresso machine nozzle. Worth the money I think. Unlike the cheaper versions that crack and have to be hand-washed. Update: It's almost 2 years since I bought 4 mugs. They are still all intact, despite dishwasher working on them almost every night. We use them every day. So still 5-star... I think when they go - it's because we break them, not because they wear down... It's already longer than most mugs last in out house :-)

Great mugs

The media could not be loaded. I love these coffee mugs. I am not a barista, but sure enjoy having a good coffee and these mugs are just all I needed. It is so beautiful and relaxing to see the coffee through the mug ???? The quality is great. I bought them a couple of months ago, and I was waiting to see how good they are before a write a review. We use the mugs every day, and I do dishwasher. The mugs keep the coffee warm for longer time than a regular mug. I would go outside during the winter and I was able to finish my coffee before it was cold. I hope this helps. I really recommend them

Best coffee mugs ever (says my girlfriend)

I bought this to my girlfriend at Christmas as she’d missed and broken her favorites. She was a little surprised when unwrapping, but now she cherishes them and says they’re the best mugs she’s ever had. Really big for a latte, and plenty of room to prevent spilling.

Bonitas pero se filtra el agua entre las paredes.

La taza es muy bonita. Pero después de una semana se comenzó al filtrar el agua al interior y se veía sucia todo el tiempo. La cambie. Pasó lo mismo. Tengo otras de una marca menos conocida y siguen en perfecto estado. Una lástima porque me gustaron mucho en cuanto a diseño.
