Well Made
First, I wear a 7.5 medium width US women's shoe and ordered the 5.5 C (regular width?). I like these shoes because of the split sole and they seem well made. I am new, so time will tell. I did notice that the shoes were too wide on my foot. If you order a normal size (not narrow or wide) it comes as a size C. I guess they think this is a proper medium width. I have gaps around the sides and I'm thinking I need to order a B (or narrow) next time. Pulling the strings didn't help overly much with that and I didn't want to pull them too tight and have them cut into my heel. Also, I have one foot that is a little smaller than the other. I didn't think this would make a big difference, but when I put the shoes on, it was very clear that I needed to order an extra pair in a 1/2 size smaller for the smaller foot. So I have a different size for each foot (and now a back of up pair of slippers in 5 and 5.5 for when these where out). So I'm good to go. The only thing I will change about my order next time is the width (I'll get the B narrow). I have the sizing down now and know I need to order two different sizes for each foot....at least in these shoes. I don't know how much they will stretch out, so I will see if I need to go down further in size when they have been used more.

when they say "true to size" they mean BLOCH'S sizing, NOT street shoe sizing!
My bad, when I read they run "true to size" and that I should order my "usual size," I incorrectly inferred they meant my street shoe size (37 - in American sizes, I am too big for a 6.5 and not quite a 7 - the European 37 fits me better for whatever reason... in Dr Martens, I wear a UK 4, translates to a US 6 - they run big, though, and I can wear a UK 5 with thick socks also). I have worn this slipper for dance for at least two decades, and it is by far my most preferred flat slipper. I love the leather version, the split sole makes my arch prettier, and they are an all around great shoe. But this pair I ordered on my incorrect assumption that sizing had been changed to be consistent with American shoe sizes must go back. They are entirely too long. It has been a while since I've bought shoes for myself for dance... I had an old pair in good shape which I thankfully found for my class today; they are a 5B. Again, my street shoe size in US sizes is roughly a 7, more than a 6.5, and I am a 37 in European sizes. I think the size chart on the page, which I should have checked first, says I would take a Bloch 4B. NO way. Acc to that chart, the size that fits corresponds to an American women's 8. I have never worn an 8, I'm a whole size smaller. With the 5B, the slipper is completely filled by my foot, as it should be. the 4B would cause my toes to be curled up.

Best Fitting Ballet Shoes
This is my daughter's favorite brand and style of ballet shoes. They fit her narrow feet very well and she feels very secure when dancing because of the elastic x-straps.

I had to return these at first because the width was problematic. I am naturally slim/narrow foot in EVERYTHING, including ice skates, so I naturally went with a B width in these. Big mistake. They strangled my little toe and I felt pressure and had to return them. Once they shipped the C width (Which is medium width in Bloch) I felt great relief. There was only a slight oddity with them after that. Ballet shoes should not have a 'left' or a 'right' foot, right? You just put your feet in and let them mold to the shape and that's how you wear them over time. You learn which is left and which is right by the way they've molded to your foot...(At least that's what I've always done). Well....I'm not sure that same rule applied with these. IT was weird, but the big toe on my right seemed to be in pain after an hour of wear, so I switched feet and then it was totally fine. I got through the next hour of dance with no issues. I think there may have been a slight manufacture difference in one of the slippers....but other than those two issues I had, they are very well constructed and I otherwise have no complaints. I really think in time, as these mold to my feet a bit more, these will be my all time loves:)

It's "the one"!
I have pretty much tried on 15 pairs of ballet shoes on and off Amazon to get the right ones! I am a size 7 street size with medium foot width. I ordered these in 5.5 B and they were a little tight at first in the toe area but they have been stretching out. I also tried on 5.5A and there was a bit more room the front of the toes but the side was too narrow. I suggest buying a variety of sizes to try on all at once if you have Prime membership anyway - Amazon's service is great and the refunds are prompt. I love ordering on Amazon. I also went to a Capezio store to try on Capezio and ended up getting a pair of Juliet. So with this Bloch Prolite in black and the Capezio's Juliet in pink I am all geared to start taking ballet! :) Right now I am wearing these Prolite ballet slippers around the home to get used to them. They smell, fit and look great! The elastics do come sewn on only one end so you will have to do the other side yourself - I measured the straps (crossed-over X) to a place on the sides where the slippers gape the most when I flex my feet and after the elastics are drawn. Make sure you sew close to the lining of the inside of the shoe, and not onto the elastic. It's not hard and when you're finished it feels great! The slipper will look and fit better too.

Love the fit of these compared to the old version
The leather on these are thinner than my previous pair of Prolite II's so I'm not sure yet how they'll hold up vs. the thicker leather. However, I do like the feel of the thinner leather so far - soft and supple - but not too flimsy. I am pretty solidly a 7.5 street shoe size and bought these in a 4.5 B. They fit wonderfully - not too tight, not too loose. The last pair I had felt too tight until I wore them in and the leather stretched a bit. These fit snug but comfortably straight out of the box. (I have am a normal width foot but with a narrow heel, a bunion at my big toes, and slightly tapered toes.) Really like the fit of Blochs for a tapered foot and narrow heel. I also really love that the elastics (although not quite in the right place) are sewn in already - I just hate having to sew on elastics so I'm willing to sacrifice on the position of them to save me the trouble!

Size matters-read the Bloch sz chart.
Love them. Quality is superior no matter what others say. They adjust well with the elastised laces which can be trimmed off after. Very comfortable & can be worn as a house slipper. Sizing is important: street shoe size is not the same with ballet slippers. You must order smaller ie; at least 2 to 3 sz smaller than your average street shoe sz. Carefully go over the BLOCH sz chart. Im a sz 7 & ordered a narrow 5, great fit for me. Could gone 4.5. Because leather stretches just slightly. Overall a great slipper and I would recommend them! ❤️

Nice ballet shoes
I love these ballet shoes. It is true I had to return the first pair. I followed the other reviews, but that was not good for me. I wear size 7 ½ and I first tried 5 ½ and they were much too small. So I returned and tried a 7. These are absolutely OK. So in my case the Bloch size is like half a number different. I think the second ones are C. I don't understand the letters. I have normal feet, more narrow than wide. These C shoes may be a bit larger but if I use the shoe lace it's really OK. I ordered C as they were cheaper than A or B. ( Prices and vendors varies a lot between sizes). It's better to wear socks as the leather is soft and easy to poke a hole with the toe nail. I use these shoes for some ballet classes and are great.
