Not Suede like the picture, though they are still a nice pair of Skechers

Update April 2021: Even though it's been a few years, I have barely worn these more than say a month total when you add it all up ... all nice and in the box it came in, for the rest of the time. I have ALREADY had to repair the entire fronts of both sneaker's soles coming completely off ... now the part that wasn't coming apart before is completely coming apart. I plan on getting some contact cememt (usually use Shoe Goo here) and repairing it but these are not that worn ... and as I have seen ... alot of others are having the same exact issue ... Skecher's is my go-to brand and I have alot of different models .. including a NUMBER Of the popular white/navy Afterburn series but with these ... the quality just is not what i am use to ... sure i can probably repair them and still wear them but i shouldn't have to ... really my rating change to a 3 out of 5 should be more like a 2.5 out of 5 MAX. I love Skecher's designs, price (on sales), and USUALLY quality but they slipped up on this one July 2021 update: well there haven't been any new issues but like on some other repairs I have done with Shoe Goo, the area AROUND the repair started to split as a number of other reviews (without any repair) show .. like the where the black and gray come together, are splitting apart. I can take the bottoms needing to be contact cemented back into place, ... with this issue in this model ... if this was my first pair of Skechers, they WOULDN'T be my go-to brand. I am getting sick of repairing these but I also know some of the repairs are easy to do ... i just SHOULDN'T HAVE TO. ------------------------- NOTE: PLEASE READ ALL of what I have to say ... the review may technically, go on longe, listing my "issue" but ... I do have positive things to say ... These are not what I wanted but .... I DO like them ... I really do I ADMIT I have only worn these once since I got them a few hours ago (a walk of a few miles). I have already had a few opinions develop about these Skechers, even in that short time. The big one and the reason I am not 100% happy is the fact that these are NOT suede in any place other than the little bit above where your toes are. The rest is the typical material they use on Skechers only in black. DO NOT get me wrong ... I don't HATE them .. though I paid a few dollars more for these than another pair I could have gotten (again they didn't claim to be suede). The DESCRIPTION SEEMS TO BE accurate though the picture ... general look wise is what I got, like other reviewers .. I got them for being nicer looking than typical sneakers with the suede. One note I must say is that I have seen others post reviews where the suede is coming up .. .or coming apart in a few months so maybe this is a design change (for the record the Skechers site for these has the same all suede picture that Amazon does ... so its not an Amazon mistake)..... I really have to say despite this they .... they look great ... maybe I'd give them an 8.5 out of 10 vs a 10 out of 10 because of the lack of suede though ... that (8.5) is still VERY high for me and ... I know even to myself it sounds like I am upset but they STILL look good and after this change, they may hold together longer ... I don't really know. I did also notice a small spot where the black ... (not sure how to say it) was fading out to a gray or something ... I used a permanent black marker to cover that up and now I can't tell it was like that, but these are a brand new pair ... I SHOULDN'T HAVE to do anything like that. These in every other way are like typical Skechers (my go to brand and even with the Con's I listed above ARE 100% STILL my go to brand in the future) and one of the things I love is the fact that I got them in the mail ... instantly had to go somewhere so I just threw these on fast ... like all my Skechers .. they fit GREAT right out of the box ... I never had an issue with that. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- Fit - I have always gotten 13's Wide Width my adult life in any other brand ... I have to say that I have NEVER gotten a "wide width" from Skechers and it's never been a problem ... some brands feel tight unless you get the wide widths ... not Skechers .. they are not tight, nor are they "really loose" width wise. I CAN NOT TELL (I can test with one of my NEW White/Navy pair) but I think these are a TAD longer length wise than usual ... eh, maybe not ... I am used to wearing 4+ year old Skechers that are (thanks to Shoe Goo for a repair or two) actually holding up well. considering how many MILES are on them and they are 4+ years old) REALLY broken-in. I WANT TO MAKE IT CLEAR that it's not overdone ..(not like "clown shoes") and this is NOT a CON ... my feet have plenty of space in the front and like a pair of Brown Skechers I have that were on sale but a size 12 (or .. 12 1/2 maybe ) ... I get my size (13) though I COULD go down a 1/2 size perhaps and not have a problem. ----------------------------------------------------------- Overall I am disappointed about the suede (and like i said I paid extra FOR THAT) issue ... but I ... despite the fact that I can't speak for these long-term yet ... I would 100% recommend these. ----------------------------------------------- a late addition to this review: While they do look like the picture only not suede ... they sort of look like this model (I know they ARE not this model... i mean they sort of look closer to these) https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0007TLLBQ/_encoding=UTF8?coliid=ID9UXHZQE7NH7&colid=TQUGLMZBXPUY If i got these (opposed to the ones I linked to earlier in the review) ... I could have saved $14 and had the same look. Even later addition to the review: the more I look at the pair I got and this LAST pair I linked too .. the ones I have are sort of a hybrid between the two :| ----------------------------------- Another Addition - Pictures .... A) Front view B) Side view showing off it doesn't have that "suede" look the pictures online do but ... it still looks good ... this image brings up another point ... if you look where the S is and slighly above it ... one or two "notches" higher ... you will see the black looks "off" ... that is permanent marker because that spot was WHITE when it was right out of the box .. easy "fix" but these are suppose to be new .. #justSaying ...C) (sorry my older digital camera really wouldn't focus correctly here) is where i ... I think it almost looks like it may start "peeling" soon ... I dont know ... not sure if this image does what I am saying justice but ... something doesn't seem right ... I AM PROBABLY leaning 90% to "I will keep these" but these seem used or something ... even if Skechers uses a different material now and its not their fault for me getting this exact pair ... that white spot + that "peeling look" that may or not be a problem down the road ... the different material AND .... THE FACT I paid $15 more than usual ... rubs me the wrong way ... but not even for me to say "yeah i want to return these" .... I still like them and DAMN they fit great ... THERE IS a reason i keep going back to Skechers

Still the same rugged shoe

Last pair is being retired as my outdoor work shoe after over 10 years. This is one tough well constructed sneaker. Wish it had better arch support though

Skechers with support

This is the third pair my husband has bought. He usually has to wear a support in his shoes, with these there is enough support it is not needed. It is the only shoe he wears fall and winter.

Nice Fit

I have difficult feet for shoes to fit well but Sketchers are an excellent fit and very comfortable. It doe not hurt that they look sharp too 1. They are value for money and last well.

Great foot wear

I bought this because I already owned a brown pair which I have used to walk many miles over 6 years in all conditions and are extremely comfortable and still going strong. These are a perfect fit for my size uk10 feet with socks and felt sturdy a little firmer probably because new. Over all I'm very pleased with it

Not your usual Sketchers sizing.

Nothing like the usual Sketchers sizing. Way too small. Very disappointed and now have to front the returns postage. Lesson learnt don't buy out of the UK.
