Nice tool, missing one important part

The oscillating tool itself is great to replace another bulky corded item in my shop, snaps right into my matrix drill body, and the quick release is not too difficult to use with one hand, though it is not a universal fit. The hold down only accepts B+D and Porter Cable blades with a large round 12-hole pattern. Universal blades with 12 long thin slots instead of round holes, or blades which do not have a slot on the back to go around the arbor, will not fit. So, you are either restricted to purchasing maker-specific blades like the BDA1212, or adding the following magical missing piece of the puzzle, which should have been included in the box. In order to utilize your current blade collection, you must get the "Exchange-a-Blade 2070262 Adapter for Porter Cable". This goes onto the outside of the arbor of the B+D attachment with an included screw. It is a very snug friction fit, but once you screw it on for the first time, it should not come off anymore. This will let you use the B+D tool with pretty much any old blade with the 12 slot pattern (though you will have to use an included allen key to screw them on). This does not preclude use of the quick change, so you can still use Porter Cable blades after the conversion if you wish. I wish this part came with the tool, and though it is under $10, its just an annoyance to not be able to get to work right away. I believe the South African variant, the MultiEvo, does include such a screw and washer in the attachment kit in order to use other blades.

Quick change blade assembly. And really holds the blade securely. Cuts well sands great. Very happy with the matrix system

Overall, works for me!

Wasn't sure if this was going to work for me. For awhile, I couldn't find any Grout Blades that worked with the Black & Decker Matrix system. The other day I finally did. Amazon sells Hemunc brand and it fits! Otherwise, it would be useless to get this attach matrix attachment only for wood, plastic or steel. I got this for two reasons: 1) lower overall spend vs getting an entirely new unit and 2) save space. That the whole reason for the Matrix system right? Overall, or did the job but the grout blade skipped a few times when too much pressure is used. To me, the quick release (though some on here have said it's got too much pressure) is not strong enough. For me, it was just to regrout some tile and it did the job. For less than a new Multitool, I recommend it!

Easy to use, and adaptable for other types of blades.

I got this to be able to do some repair work on the outside of my house where I really didn't want to be fighting with an extension cord the entire time (I do already have a corded oscillating saw). This was a simple solution, but I got a nice surprise when it arrived and I noticed that I won't be limited to only using the quick-lock blades/heads. There is the option of using the universal, bolt-on style blades, also. While the unit didn't come with the retaining bolt and plate for them; it does have the threaded receiving block underneath the quick-release lever. This makes it a whole lot more versatile than I realized when I bought it, and means I can use it for everything I already have blades/heads for without having to go buy new ones just for the quick-lock mounting.

good within limits

Realize you are buying a compromise, you are buying an attachment to make a drill LIKE an oscillating tool. It functions and does its job pretty well but the blade changes are a bit annoying, the blade it comes with is absolute garbage, and the drill gets hot pretty fast using this tool. It gets so hot I worry I am possibly going to damage the tool if I use it to much. cutting through a bolt or two is no problem, just don't expect to do more than 3-4 without your hand getting uncomfortably warm and the battery dying shortly after. It will cut through stuff pretty well if you remember to let the tool do the work. disregard the above if you plan to use it on drywall or wood it chews through them like butter. another nto sis that it is all plastic I noticed after a few uses trying to cut toilet bolts the joint piece was wearing a bit and some plastic cracked and fell off near the front bolt not more than cosmetic but it still was annoying that rubbing on smooth porcelain was to much for it.

Excelente producto a muy buen precio y compatible con Craftsman Bolt-On

Yo tengo el sistema Craftsman Bolt-On el cual compre muy emocionado, pero en México solo se consiguen 3 tipos de accesorios, o cuatro si tienes suerte los cuales son , desarmados (que normalmente está incluido), el rotomartillo, la cierra de disco y la caladora, cada uno tiene un costo de $1,200 MXN pero siempre se encuentran en promoción y terminan costando unos $850.00 MXN, cuando busque mas accesorios no logre encontrar en ninguna parte, y encontré que los blackandeker son idénticos y compatibles, además de que un poco mas baratos, funcionan perfectamente , solo no intenten usar las pilas de matrix en Bolt-On, ni viceversa. Exelente producto, y muy buen precio.

Typical Matrix attachment. Great for what it is, if that's what you need!

You know what you get with the Matrix system - a convenient toolkit expansion at the cost of compromised capability, and generally for the "non-drill" type attachments, compromised ergonomics. This is perfect for light-duty jobs, provided you equip yourself with a decent blade, as the pack-in was uniformly poor. There seems to be some controversy in the reviews about the availability of replacement blades. For clarity, replacement blades are readily available. Just make sure you get the right *kind* of bit - with 9 small holes around 3/4 of an open back hole.
