Perfect Replacement for our biOrb Life 60 Aquarium

We've had our biOrb for almost 8 years and our light had a short so we replaced it with this new one and it's so nice to have a bright light again. The plants are thriving once again! The remote is a bonus as the original aquarium didn't come with one.

I really like this light

I really like this light. I've had it only about a month so far but it is doing great. Most of the controls are self explanatory except for how to use the programmer feature. To use this start at the time that you want the daylight to take affect. Turn on the light with the off/on switch. Then hit the time feature for the amount of time you want the daylight to run. I used 14 hours. The light will turn to blue. WAIT! In about 15 minutes the light will change back to the white daylight setting. All is finished. 14 hours later the blue light will come back on for the night setting and stay on for the remaining 24 hour period or 10 more hours. The cycle then repeats itself. Hope this helps.

Not programmable. Too expensive for what it delivers.

I thought it would be somewhat programmable. It is not. There are a bunch of presets (none of which are to my taste, but I'm not holding that against them), and a setting that cycles through colors. But none that lets me set the color. It's still preferable to the light that came with the aquarium -- that one was so bright it caused an algae bloom. This one is at least dimmable -- so I just use the white light on a dimmer setting. It's certainly not worth the big bucks.

Does not fit the transformer that came with the standard light and tank.

Cannot write a review on the functionality since the plug does not fit the transformer that came with my Biorb Flow that I've had less than 6 months. You can plug it in, but it wiggles and cuts off the power to the filter. No adapter available that I can find. Will likely simply return. Very disappointing, Biorb.

Be Warned - No Warranty on this Item

I have had a BiOrb aquarium for many years. I wanted to upgrade the light, however, after 8 months this light no longer works. I just called the customer support number and was told that the light sold separately does not have a warranty .. so purchase at your own risk. I am sort of perplexed as I thought these types of electrical items had to have a warranty. When it was working it was nice .. but sort of pricy for 8 months of use.

Works, but timer function is a pain.

The main negative is that whenever you manually change the colour it cancels the timer function, so you have to remember to manually turn the lights off at night and then to restart the timer function the following morning. It's fine if you only ever want to use the automatic white (day) and blue (night) with the timer, but that defeats the point of paying for full RGB colour changing.

My Bio orb is 60L fits perfect.

The media could not be loaded. Love it, Ross and Rachel love it too as you can see :) This multi bio orb light is remote control which is easy to use, you can have it on random colours or just one colour or even just white, and the good thing is you can adjust the brightness to low light too, makes my room more cosy aswell.

Expensive but worth every penny

The media could not be loaded. Always wanted this mcr when I first saw the biorbs in store. I know its expensive but there's so many colours to choose from and makes the tank look fantastic. Definately one good buy

As advertised

Actually didn’t need it, only the remote which worked on my existing lights. If only I knew that! My old remote had a new battery fitted but still didn’t work so I assumed it was the entire light unit.

Looks fantastic but so expensive

It does look good in position, but the price is crazy considering what it is and the fact you can but the lighting elements and remote for a fraction of the price.
