Focus lever drifts
Like others I used these for viewing the night sky but found the focus lever drifts out easily and when the eyepiece is held against the head. The lever is more of a coarse adjustment than a fine adjustment dial. They are too large for hiking but have good optics otherwise.

These are not bad for $35, if that's your budget I would recommend them
With all optical instruments, including binoculars, you get what you pay for. That said, these are actually not bad for routine viewing. Just don't pretend that they are the equal of a $250 or $2000 set, and set your expectations accordingly. They are quite sharp and clear, and if you don't have a $2000 pair that you are comparing back and forth to, they are entirely adequate for normal 10x viewing needs. I just last night and this whole week was looking at Comet NEO-something in the western night sky, here in Arizona, and the quality of the image was very good. Not as good as a $3000 pair of Zeiss binocs, but, hey, $35 lets me see this comet right up close with excellent night viewing and no rainbows or distortions. The spectacle was so gorgeous that I stayed out for 30 minutes, when I normally just look for 5 or 10. Visible without the binoculars, but OMG, once you see it at 10x, you are mesmerized. I also looked at Jupiter's moons (the largest four "Galilean" moons) with these, and I could totally see them, tiny pinpricks of light in a line across the brilliance of Jupiter's full face, at its closest point to Earth right now. I've seen the moons with better optics, and I can agree that they can be clearer with a $250 or higher pair, but still - I can see them just fine with this $35 pair of binocs. I saw them last night, and took my daughter out and showed her. Based on her level of excitement, I will be buying her a pair of 10x50s, and I will probably spring for the extra $100-200 for her present, since she'll be using them for. These are fine for common use, but a nicer, better quality set would certainly be preferred as a gift, since it reflects the regard in which you hold the recipient... Anyway, 4 stars because I've used and owned better, but I definitely recommend these as a first set, or if your budget is under $50.

Great pair of binoculars for the price, but just two small issues.
I was in the market for binoculars primarily because I wanted to go stargazing. I wanted something with a 50mm objective lens because research has told me that a large objective lens allows more light. I chose this product due to the overall great reviews on this product, as well as the price. I can comfortably say that I do not regret buying this binocular, because they really are great. They feel very durable. The box it comes in is rather thin and flimsy, but it includes a neck strap and a carrying case, which is very convenient. Moving on to the actual performance. I am very impressed with the binoculars. The image quality is very clear, and the insta-focus works well. It took a while for me to learn how to use it because I have never used any device with a focusing mechanism before, but it was very easy. You simply move the lever on the middle of the binocular to adjust. Moving it to the left allows you to focus on further objects, and moving it to the right allows you to focus on closer objects. That being said though, I'm a little concerned about the long-term durability of the insta-focus mechanism. Every time I push the lever to the left, I hear a flimsy crunching sound, similar to the sound of the exoskeleton of a bug being crushed. In addition, it seems easier to push the lever to the left than it is to push it to the right. I am wondering if this will affect the binocular in the long term, but since the included paperwork states that the binocular has a lifetime defect-free warranty, I don't think I will be returning these anytime soon. Another problem that I have with this binocular is a problem that other reviewers have wrote about, which are the lens caps. You get two large lens caps for the objective lens and they fit fine and stay on. However, the smaller lens caps for the eyepieces are a bit too loose and therefore fall off very easily. But all things considered, I am satisfied with these. The lens caps are no big deal; chances are you will not want to spend a few moments taking off the lens caps before using the binocular if you want to see something quickly so you might even leave the lens caps at home. While the insta-focus does not sound pleasant, it works very well. I was able to focus on stars at night. And of course, always remember the price of this: $31 USD. This is a fraction of the price of other binoculars, but actually gets the job done rather well.

good quality for good price
I bought the Celestron 15-30 zoom field glasses (~$125) to complement a wide field of view binocular which has since disappeared. The evaluations of the Celestron were correct that it was great for distance viewing but the very heavy which got old quickly. I got these to complement those and could not believe the price for the quality. Key features are the wide field of view and fast / easy focusing. It has the quality I expected for something with a brand name like Bushnell, but it clearly doesn't have the performance of a ~$2-300 marine binocular or a high end birding binocular. And I still haven't decided if the focus point of the 2 imaging systems remains constant with distance meaning you have to do a diopter correction at each distance, or if I am demanding too much out of an intermediate grade binocular, or if my eyes are just screwed up. But $40 is a pretty low price for this much high tech. And I read someone complain about the case. The case that came with this (versus the one I bought years ago) is an order of magnitude better. Not the highest quality but pretty good for a case included effectively for free.

Good binoculars cheap case
The binoculars are what really matter and they are good. Nice and clear not too heavy easy to operate. The case and lens covers are what make this product a turn off for me. The lens covers are not molded correctly and will VERY easily fall off. They are too flimsy and therefore are too loose. The case may as well be made from a Halloween costume material. Paper like thin and will protect nothing

Great value!
I have other binoculars that are better optically and far more expensive, but the $price$ and the way these focus make these a very practical pair of binoculars that I take with me whenever I'm going to be "mucking" around. I have 2 of them - 1 pair I keep in my glovebox and the 2nd in the shed - I highly recommend them...

Good value for money
Binoculars are ok for money, but they don't look like strong built product
