3" roller

Product description is unclear about the roller width. In the answered questions, some responses indicate a 4" roller, others 3". The product I received is well made, but with a 3" roller. I was trying to buy a 4" roller, and 20 minutes of reading the description, reviews, and answered questions did not really answer the question. $20 is a lot to spend to find out what I'm really ordering.

Homegamer use...maybe. Professional use...nope

I used this roller to install flashing tape around two windows and two doors. The black coating on the handle has split and is falling off in chunks. The black rubber roller is not permanently fixed to the white plastic bushing. This means that when you apply side pressure to the roller the black rubber slides on the bushing. I purchased this roller because it appeared that the rubber extended out past the metal part so that you could roll flush into a corner. When I first received it, the roller was not mounted flush. I pulled off the retaining clip and flipped the roller over to make it flush. Had I realized that the rubber could be shifted to extend over the metal end I would have just done so without removing the roller. Now I need to figure out a way to fix the rubber roller to the plastic bushing. I really doubt I’ll be able to find an adhesive that will bond the two materials. If I used this roller professionally, I would return it for something else.

Much better than expected

Surprisingly solid handle. I can't even flex the handle with my hands. Much better than expected. The rubber roller also has a nice level of texture. I'm using this to apply some dynamat insulation to my camper van. I have the dynamat branded roller, but the handle on the dynamat roller is a bit short for some cases, and also that unit has the roller suspended between two metal forks, meaning it's not good for edge work. This roller, with the J handle is good at edging, and also a bit more ergonomically friendly when I can get the longer handle in there. The one weakness with this handle is that the J side seems like it protrudes out farther than it needs to, and therefore, this roller is less useful in tighter spaces.

Leave something to be desired originally, but can be turned into an excellent tool.

It was mentioned in several reviews I read that the handle was too small. Well it is, but I found no other rollers that were any better. I had an old shovel handle in the garage, so I cut a piece from the handle two feet long, drilled a hole lengthwise in the center slightly larger than the roller handle and about five inches deep. I used some quick set epoxy to put it together. I would have preferred that I didn't have to do that, but I am well satisfied with the results, and it was not much trouble. The resulting modification works great.

Buy a real j roller, not a toy

I am not that excited about this j roller it's to small. That part of the product leaves quite a lot to be desired. Its almost a toy.

Great tool. Used it to roll out a laminate top installation. Deducted one start because I would have preferred to have a little longer handle for the job. With that said, this product really deserves about 4-3/4 stars because it's solid and sturdy--grips and roller are made from high quality, dense rubber. I can use it for years to come.

Great roller

This roller was very sturdy, we used it to apply house wrap to our rebuild, the house wrap was Williams Blueskin 101 that has an adhesive backing but needs to be applied with a roller to ensure a good adhesion

The roller was damaged. 2nd order was better

Really low quality. Damaged. Will order another one and see if I just got a dud. Update: ordered another one with much better quality. Looks solid. Retainer clip had almost fallen off, but I was able to push back in place with needle nose pliers. Gotta take off a star for wasting time / shipping.

Mostly good value.

Works well. The issue I found was the snap ring grooves, especially the outside one is not very deep hence the snap ring came off a couple of times (lost them of course). Otherwise just fine.

Super rouleau

Great roller, sturdy and durable, easily on par with any model from the big box stores at a fraction of the cost. Laminated my whole kitchen remodeling and the "little roller that could" still looks and feels like new. Would definitely buy again.
