Lid is not “slow close”

While it’s pretty easy to install and the seat is slow closing, the lid is not! The description of this product shows the seat and lid as being “slow close.” Since it’s installed I’m not going to return it but I am disappointed. Just forewarning buyers.

Good product; would have preferred tool included

This is a fine replacement for a dreaded wooden seat. the installation requires a 5/8" wrench, which I did not have or know I needed until I had removed the aforementioned dreaded precursor! For the price, would have appreciated a wrench to be included.

Would not buy again

I bought this Bemis toilet seat to replace an older Bemis seat. I wanted a toilet seat that was easy to remove. I like to remove the seat to better clean the rim. I also bought a Bemis brand because that is what I have on two other toliets in my house. Like the other Bemis seats this one is very easy to remove. What I do not like about this toilet seat is: 1. While it is oval, the seat is smaller than the rim. My spouse and guests are complaining that this smaller seat “pinches” them when seating down. 2. The too small seat makes raising this seat up for men to use unsanitary. You have to touch the rim to get under the seat to raise both the lid and the seat. Would I buy this again? No. I may end up discarding this seat early as it is not a good thing to have guests complain about a pain in the butt from going to the bathroom.

Easy to install and clean

Replaces painted wooden seats that had paint starting to wear off from cleaning after 4 years. Will probably order more to replace two others as the wife really prefers these.

It works well

I replaced all my toilet seats with this model! It seems to me less prone to holding germs, and works quietly. Easy to clean.

Prevents falling toilet seats

I purchased this seat to replace a Kohler slow close seat that would not stay up. We have toilets that have very little space between the tank and the bowl and that was causing toilet seats to fall when raised due to them not being at 90 degrees. The Kohler seat had no resistance so it would not stay up and you had to hold it in position. This Bemis seat is a lot stiffer so the seat will stay up when raised, even if it isn't leaning back further than 90 degrees.

A real bear to install and hinge snapped so easily.

It looks and feels more like a nice wooden toilet seat but it's plastic to it's easy to clean. That said, this was the most difficult toilet seat I've ever installed. You will probably need a socket wrench because the plastic on the hex nuts are so soft they can't take a regular wrench or pliers without getting almost stripped. There's no catching flange to hold the nut against the bowl so you have to tighten solely by the wrench. But the worst thing was was the little hinges on one of the bolt covers snapping like a potato chip before I could even close the thing. I hope it stays in place because there's no way to fix it and cleaning it will be gross.

Perfect seat!

We purchased a home that had this toilet seat in one of the bathrooms. I researched long and hard to find out which one it was and bought another for our other bathroom. It’s way sturdier than your average toilet seat and super easy to clean - way less crevasses to clean into and around! I’ve never been so excited about something so simple and have told my whole family this is the toilet seat they need in their homes!

Not as tight as they advertise

Installed the seat without any trouble. It uses plastic nuts that snap off when torqued the proper amount but I found this wasn't tight enough. The seat moves side to side.
