SO HARD TO REMOVE BUT HAVE BOUGHT OVER 50 CONTAINERS

I love the hold and finish you do not have to use any hair spray this stuff loves heat so rup fast with your hands or use a blow dryer....... BIGGEST DRAW BACK. I have thin hair btw, this stuff is super hard to remove which is now starting to become concerning to me because this stuff will not even will come out with DAWN soap or even the soap this brand sells. So now I'm switching to new brand that is only water based that is more easer to remove that leave a natural hold and will use hair spray. I love this stuff but it's not healthy for your hair. Even my barber said the same. Read the ingredients, I'm only doing water based stuff only now.......

Great Hold with Matte Finish, Just Be Mindful of Clumps

I've been using the Baxter of California Clay Pomade, and overall, I'm quite pleased with its performance. It keeps my hairstyle in place throughout the day without any issues. However, one drawback is that it can leave slight clumps in the hair if not applied carefully. To avoid this, just make sure to distribute the product evenly.

Dense but works

Definitely gets the job done but alot more dense in the jar than similar products from another brand. Not sure of that is what is intended or not.

Only product my husband will use

This is the only style cream my husband will use. He is very picky on the type of texture/ thickness of a product he wants to style his hair. He has tried all the store bought fiber creams/ clay textured products. This is his favorite. A little goes a long way!

Works well for hair that is stubborn and won't hold with other waxes.Not perfect but the best I have used,most expensive too,but its actually economical to use ironically.It does last a long time.

The best hair product I've ever used

If you're a cheapskate like me, you'll have wasted a small fortune buying off-the-shelf supermarket hair products, thinking it's cheaper to settle for lots of lame products. I decided to get this after many 5-star reviews, and it's honestly the best. I have a quiff sort of haircut, and this is somehow a really high hold AND matt and natural looking. I use sea salt spray on wet hair, blow dry and style with this on my dry hair. You'll never use anything else, trust me.... also, don't need much AT ALL, so it'll last a while (I admit I haven't finished one yet so I can't say for sure) Also, few comments on the smell... it's an aniseed smell, like sambuca, which is an aquired taste but I like it. It's not nearly strong enough that you'd notice it once it's on your head.

Strong hold for Short Hair But POOR Hold for longer hair

Great and strong product. Stays on pretty good. Can rework when needed and works good even when it's raining but not if the rain is heavy! Update: my thick asian hair is bit longer currentlly, around 4 - 4.5". And This product doesn't work at all on longer hair but works fine with shorter Hair. Product loses hold pretty quickly and makes it look greasy = Currently for longer hair I use Quicksand as Pre-styler and for finish, Bluemaan Cavalier Heavy Clay for the hold and it lasts good few days for me!. I Used to Use Lockhart Clay but it was too oily even when I was using it little and had zero hold after an hour or so. Shame, I used to like Baxter of Califonia Clay but not anymore. Im completely avoiding petroleum based clay or have petroleum in ingredients. Overall Rating for me is 2 out of 5 at best.

Pretty greasy, didn't hold for long periods.

Recently taken an interest in finding alternative's to Da Wax, liked the idea of having something that wasn't so firm that it would tug my hair when I ran fingers/comb through it, but kept the shape all day. After some good reviews on YouTube I gave this a shot. How much to use?: Not even sure what is suitable. Used a small amount 1 day, didn't seem enough, large amount the next seemed like it had no extra hold, only added to the next day's greasy feel. Hold: Saw a youtuber who claimed this held in place all day, at best I had a few hours before my hair had a mind of it's own. Washes: Found that if I washed my hair the day after I used it, it still felt pretty greasy, sometimes a 2nd wash still wouldn't get that out, 3 days/showers before it felt better/gone. Container: Made out of glass, sure, the container looks more smart but myself being clumsy I smashed it in a gym changing room. Clearly, this was my own fault and nobody else's, but would have preferred plastic.

Not a Matt product acts more like a Heavy wax

Been using this a couple of weeks. The smell is predominately Rosemary, so you do smell like a lamb Sunday roast. While not a horrible smell, for me it is just a bit weird. The biggest problem for me with this product is is isn’t a clay, it’s a wax. Clays leave a nice Matt finish and aren’t as tacky. This feels and acts much more like a think heavy wax, it is tacky to touch and stays tacky through the day and it definitely isn’t Matt, it has a subtle shine. Disappointing given the description of the product.

Excellent product, believe the hype.

This is really good stuff. It’s very firm in the jar but softens quickly in your hands and feels somewhere between a stiff paste and a wax. It works very easily into hair and sets almost instantly with a firm hold. The finish is strong and matte, and allows you to build height and thickness with ease. You can also restyle through the day without really losing much of the original hold or finish. It washes out very easily - I just use standard H&S shampoo, and Baxter clay pomade doesn’t leave hair feeling greasy or sticky after you wash it. The jar is very heavy and feels premium - I’m glad it glass from an environmental POV, but it does add weight to your travel luggage etc. Overall I’m really pleased with the product. It’s not cheap, but you get what you pay for and one jar will last months.
