Lightweight, but handle is hard resin with rough ground cork mixed in
A decent cane, lighter weight than my quad cane, and not as slippery as my other hiking-balance cane. The handle helps carry more weight for hobbling, but it is hard resin or plastic, with chopped cork mixed through, which makes it rough and hard on my wrists. The anti-shock is just the top third of the shaft riding up and down on the rest of the shaft, no springs or anything to soften shocks. But it is easy to lock in place. The shaft was easy-ish to turn to the right length (handle should be at bend of wrist on uninjured side), but while i was adjusting it, it got too tight at room temp. I had to chill it to finish. But I have some arthritis and pain symptoms in hands and wrists, so this might be easier for others. The color is a nice deep electric blue. The tip feels more grippy than my other hiking-balance cane. But it doesn't help me enough with balance on hard flooring. It helps a little to turn the cane backwards, heel of palm resting right over the shaft, and keep my arm close up against my body, then the cane doesn't wobble or slip as easily. But this is poor posture and will injure worse over time. So, I learned from this that i probably need a walker. So overall, a cheap hiking cane that seems a little lighter and better made than the mobility and hiking canes I already have.

Good Value in Antishock cane but my 2nd choice [Updated]
This is the only choice in this price range for an anti shock cane, so that makes it a very good value. It is not the lightest, nor does it collapse into the shortest length, but it is sturdy. Sometimes it does come out of the anti shock setting just in use, and you have to give it a quick twist to get back to it, though with time, I hope it doesn't do it all the time. That can become annoying in everyday use, which happened to my Komperdell Walker AS over time, and why I went looking for another, since they were discontinued. The next higher in price and another only choice in that range, is the Wrzbest JungleLeopard anti shock cane on Amazon, which is lighter in weight, and collapses to a much shorter overall length. That one does not have an on and off mechanism for the anti shock-it is on all the time. Which can be a very good thing, since you don't have to fool with it anytime because it goes out by itself like the Chinook does. Don't get me wrong, this is a good, serviceable cane at a good price, if you don't need the lightest in weight, or the shortest in collapsed dimensions for travel. The other difference is the handle is a bit bulkier, and longer, and rougher in texture. They also put some ridges in the vertical front side for more traction, apparently, though I don't think that it was necessary, and the composite cork handle is more coarse in texture as well. If you are sensitive to touch, you may find this grip a little harsh, as I do, but many will not have that issue, I am sure. This is, for me, a very good at home cane, or even a good shopping cane to take to the stores, without much investment or worry about how it survives during shopping trips, etc. What I take on the trail in the woods, will most likely be different, when there is a choice. Updated to add: I now, after a few months of daily use, greatly prefer the Wrzbest JungleLeopard antishock cane that is also sold here on Amazon, though it is out of stock right now, and just a bit more in price when in stock. I would hold out for it to come back in stock if possible, or look for it elsewhere for it, as a first choice. It is just lighter enough while being very sturdy, and very comfortable in the hand with a slightly smaller grip, and is preferable unless you have very large hands, possibly. For average Men's and Women's hands, it will feel better and perform reliably, making it a favorite for me in everyday use. UPDATE 8/22 I have been using this around the house now for about a year full time, since my favorite (Wrzbest JungleLeopard) cane's cork handle started to come loose around the bottom where it attaches to the cane. So I started using the Chinook cane again daily. Just recently the cork handle started to get a hole in the top side of the grip, so I just got out the duct tape and now the handle is not as nice or comfortable, but it still works. You still can't beat the price of this cane on Amazon though, so it's still a viable option, with a little larger cork handle than most, that I find more comfortable than some smaller ones. The anti shock still keeps slipping out of lock, so you need to reset it often, but that's not hard, just a quick turn of the handle while holding the shaft, and it's good to go again. Hopefully they have improved on that feature, but maybe not, it's been a couple of years since I bought mine. This is a sturdy, inexpensive anti shock cane, good for home or shopping, or walks if you don't mind that it's not the lightest around. But it probably is the cheapest you can buy that works. Good quality replacement tips will cost you almost as much as this cane (for a pair of Leki tips), but beware of the generic imitators that do not use enough rubber to have traction on vinyl or highly polished slippery floors, especially when it's wet out! I have tried a few, but now will only buy Leki's for safety's sake. They're out of stock here now but can be found online. Komperdell brand should be good too if they fit this cane.

A cane with shock absorbers! Excellent grip on any surface!
My parents use this as a cane and it provides a great sense of security. It won't slip away like other canes and it has a very soft land every time it touches the ground.

Great lightweight cane.
This is hubby's every day cane. After years of heavyweight sticks it's sime to lighten the load. And for him, he says it's about time someone made a "Trekking Cane." Ann otherwise normal trekking pole, but with a T-Handle! This stick is very lightweight, but sturdy. It's a comfortable grip and the height is infinitely adjustable (up to it's max/min that is). The handle is a cork and resin material that according to him is comfortable to hold and provides excellent grip. When the segments are properly tightned there doesn't seem to be any slip (and he's been using it for months). He is 6'1 and 210lbs and has had no issues with bending. Only 2 things to keep in mind out of the box: 1) The rubber tip... It's terrible! Do yourself a favor and order some aftermarket trekking pole tips when you order this stick. It uses the standard size tip and you can find way better for a decent price. 2) The Shock Absorber... There are complaints that sometimes it can switch on/off, and they are valid. My husband uses it off on flat and on uphill. But he has noticed occasionally when it's OFF it does flip to on. He says when you hit the ground if you twist your arm/hand a bit it could switch. But after doing it a few times you learn how it acts and can avoid it. It doesn't happen when it's ON becausenthr spring absorbs the motion. Also be aware that even when it's off there IS a tiny bit of compression, so it might be worth it to set it a little higher than you normally would.

Well built
But the rubber piece that touches the floor, tore after only a week of use.

Better than expected
I see reviews explaning that the rubber tip wears out....... That's what it's for, just like tires and shoes. It"s a fact of life. That said, i like it as a cane. The shock absorber is wonderful, now i need shoes like this. I opened it a little to look at the spring and it's a good stout one. If it bottoms out on you it might be that you are too heavy for it. I am 170 lbs. and no bottoming out.

Tip punctured through
tip was punctured on day one of use. Overall, cane is resilient, but fact that tip got messed up immediately is really disappointing. Shame that is the reason i'll be providing low review

Terribly made
This cane lasted me all of 24 hours. The rubber tip has already been pierced, and more importantly who uses brass for a screw thread? The thread is already broken, the cane is now shortens down to it's minimum length with the lightest pressure. Unusable. Asking for a refund immediately.
