Beautiful but Fragile Train
The media could not be loaded. If you've never bought an N scale train before, just know that this scale is VERY tiny, even smaller than I expected. However, that was perfect for me as the track is small enough to fit on my table in my camper. Overall, the details on the train are great! It looks very realistic and has lots of tiny details like ladders and hand rails, and has the locomotive has a little headlight that comes on when you run it. The only two complaints I have about it are that the details are very very fragile, just in setting up the train I managed to break off one of the handrails on the caboose and the ladder on the tender (I was able to reattach that). The other complaint I have is that the train doesn't run well at low speeds. If you run it too slow, it staggers and will get stuck on some parts of the track and just spin in place. The simple solution to this is to just run it faster, which isn't too big of a problem. Overall, it's very easy to assemble, and the details alone make it worth the price, but I wouldn't buy it for kids unless they are very gentle with the pieces

Engine broken right out of the box
One of the engine coupling rods was not attached completely. I could see how it should fit but I can't get it to go. I solved the issue (not fixed) by reversing the rod. I had to remove a screw and reverse the rod. It now stays where it should but is inside out. I hope it stays. The train won't be run much as it is mostly for Christmas decoration or I would have sent it back. There are complaints about Bachmann trains along the line, something just isn't how it should be. I think they have bad QC and give credence to the complaints I have read. The detail on the engine and cars is good. The track went together fairly well. I wore magnifying glasses so I could see when the track wasn't fitting together smoothly just what I needed to do. I can't recommend anything Bachmann based on my limited experience.

I'm an Old Lady, and I LOVE THE TRAIN! And I haven't even taken it out of the box.
I've always wanted an N-scale electric train. I chose this one for the particular engine and cars it included. It's to be used with my Christmas Village, which I didn't get out this year. I'm going to put it together, make sure it works okay, and then put it away for next year. I HAVE A TRAIN AGAIN!! IT's BEEN ABOUT 50 YEARS SINCE I HAD ONE (an HO "Tony the Tiger" train that my sister threw down the basement stairs out of spite; I'll never forget that awful feeling)!

The media could not be loaded. I purchased this starter set as my Christmas gift to myself and I couldn’t be more happy with it !!! It was easy to assemble and it runs great !!! No problems with the train not running smoothly or not running at all as some have experienced !!! The detail on such a small piece is amazing and I can’t wait for the buildings and trees on order to arrive so I can begin creating my layout !!! Thanks Bachman !!! ✌️????

Great little set!
Great little train set at a great price! Once you get it working, it usually works well, but has the tendency to just stop working for a few minutes if anything touches the tracks that shouldn’t. But that might be mostly user error, so I can’t fault the trains, which were a great gift for my mom!

Extremely nice and highly detailed.
Runs perfectly fine. It has a great deal of detail. Small and delicate details. Wouldn't suggest buying it for a young child. All metal construction even the tender is metal. Heck the headlight even turns off when you put the train into reverse. That is something usually reserved for more expensive DCC equipment engines.

Very nice set and even worth it at full price
So i got this little gem of a set on sale for $99 canadian. And it was money well spent, first of all an equivalent engine from bachmann goes for the 170 dollar range, now you have to be careful putting the track together ensuring the rails go inside the joiners otherwise you will have lots of derailments, but if you take your time and put it together properly it will run great for you. The control works well and all the rolling stock is very nice and detailed. The rerailer terminal piece is a great touch too and really does work well for thissmall scale
