Good Performance.

The Sultra After Hours 1.5" titanium wand is a relativity good quality product IMO. It has nice features and seems like quality components were used. I will say however that the included accessories are relatively cheap feeling and they could have done much better with them. Also the company itself doesn't seem to have all its policies in order. It doesn't make for a confident feeling. With that said the curling wand does heat up fast as well as set a large curl relatively easily. The dual heating elements heat the entire wand pretty evenly. You will need the included heat resistant glove to use it safely. This wand isn't for the quick styler as it requires a bit more care that other wands. It doesn't have any feet to rest it on while hot. You will have to manage it until it cools down. I good heat resistant surface or item will help with using it. I do like the swiveling cord as it prevents it from tangling. I do like the digital temperature display. The handle is comfortable. to hold and use. I don't really understand the "after hours" marketing, but whatever. It is aimed at a younger generation.

Great loose curls

This is my first wand and so excited to try this! I was very impressed with the packaging and contents. It comes in a nice box, comes with a mat and glove. I love how you can set the temperature precisely to what u want and how fast it heats up is pretty awesome. This is so easy to use and gives great loose beach curls. Love how it doeant damage the hair and was able to do my whole head of hair very quickly. The only thing I dont like is the price, its definitely not worth $149 and you can find the same.product alot cheaper. I do love the concept of not having a curling iron with clippers. Once you use the wand you wont want to go back. Everything is the description is spot on, but when picking your size wand be sure what kind of curls you are looking for. This size will give you a loose curl so If you want more tight curls look for a smaller size. Overall very happy with this and the quality just think its overpriced

Eh...it's okay

I can't say that this is a curling wand that I would really recommend. It's not the easiest curling wand to use, especially if you have fine hair. My hair is long but thin and fine, and even with styling product added or not being freshly washed, it keeps sliding off the barrel. Using this on the hair around my face is easier since I can see exactly where I am wrapping my hair around the barrel. As I move towards the back of my head, trying to use this curling wand becomes an exercise in frustration and burned fingers. There's not really any instructional information included with this tool, though you can do a quick internet search and pull up how-to videos that help with the learning curve. Even after using this on and off for over a year, I still prefer curling wands with the clip. This curling wand (when I could get my hair to stay around the barrel) does create lovely, large curls that create body and waves in my hair. It heats up quickly and maintains that degree of heat well so you don't have to wait every few minutes for it to heat back up like you do with some other brands. If your hair is shorter than shoulder length, the 1.5" barrel is really too big since you aren't able to wrap your hair around the barrel more than maybe one-and-a-half/two times. A very cheap heat protection mat is included to set the wand on when in use since there isn't a metal wire stand attached to set the wand on up and away from the vanity top. This mat is super thin and didn't completely protect counter. I was surprised at how hot the counter got underneath. I ended up buying a much thicker one as I didn't trust the one included. Cord length is good, and it does swivel at the base of the iron so you aren't constantly fighting the cord. Personally I prefer to use this curling wand when I am helping someone else curl their hair. It's a lot easier for me to use this way, which is probably the main reason I keep it around. This isn't a horrible curling wand, I just don't find it the easiest to use when doing my own hair. I'm not the most talented (and coordinated) person when it comes to using hair tools regardless of how often I use them. Any time I can get extra help from a feature on a hair styling tool - yay. If you are comfortable and accustomed to using hair styling tools with minimal features, you might like and use this wand more than I.

The 1.5" curling wand heated up fast and creates large curls and waves

The concept of using a curling wand is a new one for me. I have grown up using a curling iron, but had my moments of frustration due to the clip crimping my hair in bad places, so the curling wand seems like a good alternative. This curling wand was packaged beautifully in a nice black box that would make a great gift. It includes a pad to set the wand on and a glove to wear on the hand that rolls the hair around the wand. The glove is thicker than another brand I have tried, but any thicker and it would probably be hard to control your hair you are working with. The wand has a few preset temperatures to select from, depending on your hair type. I initially went with 355 for the more medium hair toward the front of my head, but I increased it to 375 for the more thick hair towards the back. The wand heated up in less than a minute. The cord rotates as the wand moves, so no problem with twisting cords. The cord has a Velcro cord wrap on it to secure the cord when the device is not in use. There is a website you can visit to see demonstrations of people using this wand. This helps a lot, since it takes a slightly different approach than a regular curling iron. My curling wand is the 1.5" titanium barrel and it produced large waves in minutes. I already had hair spray in my hair, so it was a little tricky to work with at times. It felt a little awkward at first, but with practice in am sure it would be easy to do my whole head in 10-15 minutes - and I am not a hair styling savvy person. It would be even easier if you are curling someone else's hair with this wand, as it gets particularly difficult when trying to curl the back of your hair. The mat can be used to wrap up the wand, its cord, and the glove once it has cooled for more organized storage. It does up with the pink ribbon attached to the mat.
