My grandkiddos love them!
My grandkiddos love these blocks. Little hands can lock them together and take them apart simply! Glad I got them!!

Great Expansion set but it could use some improvements
I recently purchased these for my grandson in order to encourage him towards more open-ended creative play. Although he is only 3, he is a very goal-directed child. He enjoys building things and putting toys together but he likes a plan. Recently he has enjoyed building with his Habba Smart Fellow Pegging Game and figuring out the insides of solid objects. I was hoping the Bristle Block Spinaroos might offer an extension with their cute faces and various moving parts, but so far they haven't. Owen was very excited to open the package and carefully examined all the various blocks and other pieces, but then he asked for the "structions". When I said that I didn't think there were any instructions and this was a toy that he could use his imagination to build with, he scrunched up his little face, and asked if I was sure. Looking as serious as possible (which is difficult given all his strawberry blonde curls and cherub face) he said, "maaayyybe, >big sigh< maybe, Grammy, the structions fell out. That can happen if you're not carefuls" Trying once again to explain the virtues of not having any instructions and in using one's imagination, I set out to build a few of my own creations, while my dear grandson watched. Owen carefully examined each of my five creative building attempts and even lined all of them up in a straight row before declaring in his same serious little voice, "Yep, Grammy we neeeeed some structions.” I had to admit, after trying my own hand at being creative, some sample building plans would be a useful addition and give me some ideas to expand from. On a more practical note, I noticed there was no lid for the plastic storage box the blocks had come in. And while, the plastic tub the blocks came in was a sturdy one because it didn't have a lid the bin there was a good chance of the various pieces falling out. However, I am not one to give up easily, and I am not the most talented when it comes to assembling toys of any kind; but I have sons who are talented when it comes to building sets. With my new plan in place, I asked both of Owen's uncles to give the blocks a spin ;). And I wish I could say it worked, but that wasn't the case. Uncle Benj said the Bristle blocks were difficult for Owen to put together and didn't connect easily. He agreed that a booklet of ideas would make building more fun. He liked the faces and the spinning pieces but he said the blocks were not "user friendly". Uncle David reaction was slightly different. He created a very realistic version of the Starship Enterprise, and even spent several minutes enthusiastically encouraging Owen to try putting blocks together. However, the next day Owen and I discovered that Uncle David had dug up one his old Lego sets and left for Owen on his toy shelves. When I asked David about it, he said the Legos were easier for Owen to connect and I could always download an idea booklet to help Owen get ideas. In conclusion, if you happen to have one of those children who seems to gravitate towards building sets then the Bristle Bocks Spinaroo set might be a welcome expansion, especially if your child has and enjoys playing with one of the other Bristle Bock sets. The spinning parts and brightly colored faces are sure to be a big hit. On a more practical note, my other recommendation is that Battat or BToys considers adding a lid to the plastic storage container and considers creating a booklet of building ideas to get kids going. From and Educational Perspective, Bristle Bocks Spinaroo Set facilities development in key learning domains such as Science and Creative Play and encourages growth of foundational STEM skills. However, I would suggest teachers and/or caregivers become familiar with the product before using it in a guided play manner, as children may have some difficulty connecting the blocks and benefit from seeing a demonstration.

This is a fun Bristle Block set
This is a fun Bristle Block set! The colors are really pretty and a welcomed break from the bright primary colors of most kids' toys. There are some really creative pieces in here -- faces, pieces with unusual shapes, and pieces that turn. The pieces with handles attached are really easy for younger children (they can use just one hand if they are still working on coordinating both hands). The large green base is great to have as it makes building easy and inviting. The faces are really fun for building figurines and incorporating pretend play. The blocks are sturdy and an appealing texture. I was really pleased with the sturdy yellow tub that the blocks are packed in, and we use it for storage (but there is no lid). There is extra room in the box and we were able to add a small set of bristle blocks that we previously had. Both my 2 and 5 year old play with these but they get the most heavy use from my younger child. This is a great building toy for families with kids of multiples ages as younger kids can stack them without fear of knocking them down accidentally while older kids will figure out how to attach the edges to make more complicated designs.

Absolutely love them!
I have both this toy and the related B. Stackadoos. There is very little overlap on size/shape/color combinations. I bought these bristle blocks as a 2nd birthday gift for my daughter. She loves to build and we have several types of blocks (mega bloks, little people blocks and wood blocks) These are by far her favorite. PROS: They connect in a myriad of ways and directions and for little people they connect with relative ease. She is loving building "towers, monsters and cars". Truly the possibilities are limited only by your creativity. The faces and spinners in this set are well worth the cost. They help kids to create a story to go with their monsters. The faces also show "some" emotion. Happy, surprise etc... that have led to continued discussions of feelings. The spinners are great for fun, silliness and helicopters. The entire set can keep her entertained long enough for me to cook or clean! Having an open box for storage enables her to clean up and access the toys easily, which she loves. The other educational element to consider in this set is the colors. My daughter will organize by color or size/ shape. CON: The only issue I have come across is that a few pieces connect poorly. For me, this is really a non-issue, but it can upset my daughter a bit when she needs help. I think that with use they will continue to fit better. If you are on the fence.... just get them! The kids will love them and so will you!

best new toy for all ages!
A set of spinaroos was donated to my workplace ( we deal with children). I have been amazed to see children of all ages enjoying building all kinds of things! From age two to about 9 or 10, they are fascinated by this set. Their imaginations know no bounds. I have been so impressed with the way this toy sparks children's creativity. I didn't even know what the name of this toy was, but I kept looking til I found it! Bought two sets for my grandchildren, age 2, 6, and 8; one for my house and one for theirs. And yes, grandma plays with them sometime, but I am not nearly as imaginative. At work, I saw a 4 year old boy create a recognizable F-16 airplane. I saw a 7 year old create a 16 inch tall character that would spin around. It's at the top of my list for children. Don't immerse them in water to clean, the spinning parts will rust and quit spinning. Also you can adjust how easy it is to spin with a small screwdriver. There are also Stackeroos, which can add more building pieces to the set.

Lovely quality
Bought these for my sons birthday and he was also gifted a set of the stickle brick brand. This set is a much nicer quality, the colours are lovely, and the set overall is really lovely. The box is really useful too to store it all in. I’m pleased I chose this set over stickle bricks and will purchase more in the future to add to this set.

My Daughter Loves these!
These arrived yesterday and my daughter has played with them for hours!! Silly faces, bright colors, easy to use. She's 2.5 and they really keep attention. My ONLY complaint is that the box doesn't come with a lid! Which makes it harder to take them to grandmas!

Needs a lid!
Really cute. Cute colours and faces and pieces. Would love it if this bin had a lid, but I'm happy to have the sturdy bin to store all the bits in.

A surprise hit!
Purchased for my three- and one-year old as a joint present - both children engaged with them straight away and explored playing with them, combining and spinning them to build a range of creations. Very well-made with a beautiful range of colours - much nicer than your basic primary colours palette. Supplied in a lightweight plastic box (though unfortunately no lid). These were such a hit I quickly also purchased the Stackadoos building set to complement them, offering greater scope for building and play by having more pieces and different shapes. Great fun - will last and therefore an investment.
