Wow, Another Dewalt 20V tool in my collection that will do everything I need.....love it!
I've got about 8 Dewalt 20V tools and every one of them has been reliable and appreciated for the great job it does. I've got an old ½ inch air impact tool and decided it was time to move to cordless and add to my 20V Dewalt system. I used it the first time to replace mower blades on my X330 John Deere mowing deck. WOW!....it loosened the blade bolt so easily and quickly, I was amazed. This Dewalt impact tool is heavy and solid. I'll be using it for wheel/tire changes and probably a deck rebuild project where I'll need it to drive in some large lag screws or tighten some supporting bolts/nuts. I used the -Precision Wrench mode- which to me will probably be the preferred setting for most jobs. It starts out gentle and slow and as it senses resistance to either tighten or loosen, it spins up faster using more torque. The built in LED light is super bright and easily lights up your impact point so you can see it well. Very handy for darker, deep shade or secluded situations where there's not a lot of light on what you're doing. I'm sold on Dewalt tools and this ½" impact tool will be a very worthy addition to my tool-set. 5 Stars all around, it was a keeper as soon as I used it the first time!

I bought this a few weeks ago. I finally had a chance to use it. My neighbor's car needed new front brakes. Lugs - no problem. Caliper bolts - my DCF901 couldn't break them free. The 991, no problem. It was small enough to do the whole job. I didn't need to use a manual socket wrench once. It made the job way easier. For years, I have been using an IR 600fp air impact. But I don't think I will bother plugging in my AC any more. I even used the DeWalt tire inflator. Makes the job way easier.

Awesome impact wrench, great power, perfect size for most jobs
So far, I’ve used this tool for removing lug nuts and doing a brake job on my Honda. Rips the lug nuts right off, the tool is also small enough to fit in the wheel well and remove the brake caliper + bracket. Speed setting are helpful to prevent over-tightening. I used it with a 8amp-hr battery, not sure how well it would work with smaller batteries. One downside is this tool does not come with a carrying case of any kind, and once you install the belt hook it doesn’t even fit in the original box. Otherwise I have zero complaints

SO worth the extra money.
Last Black Friday, I purchased a 'no name' impact driver to work on my vehicle. It simply lacked the power to do the task I was working on (removing seats from an old Bronco II). I decided to bite the bullet and purchase a DeWalt, and MAN AM I GLAD I DID. Super powerful. Great LED light location. Lightweight batteries. I love DeWalt tools.

Used this tool for the first time on lug nuts on my neighbors beetle. It wouldn’t remove them. To be fair I had to use a cheater bar to break them loose but I thought this tool for the price would have done a better job. On other uses it performed well. Have no clue on battery life. I think that depends more on size and quality of battery.

Scrap Yard Hero
I purchased the 1/2 inch drive 891B with hog ring after a few weeks of researching what an impact wrench can and cannot do. I needed a portable, powerful, reliable tool with me while hunting for old automotive parts rusted together in scrap yards. I have used it with just an impact socket and with an extension + universal joint + impact socket all together which typically reduces the effectiveness of the torque but I experienced no problems. Every bolt I needed to remove was overcome by this Dewalt tool. And, I have not yet used "full beans" mode 3. Its January here in Ontario, Canada and there are a lot of rust heaps in the scrap yards. The hog ring 891B in my opinion is better for attaching / detaching sockets while wearing gloves. No need to mess around with detent pin.

Very good
Very pleased with this impact gun. I don't use it to make a living with but a yearly tire changes it works great. Have a car as well as pickup and it easily does the job.

Poorly made tool
Bought this gun because of the good online reviews on YouTube, used it for doing passenger car tires,lasted about two weeks before quitting, returned it to seller and ordered another from a different company, second one lasted two days and quit. Tried multiple different batteries by no difference, have had great success with dewalt products in the past, but I am done with buying them. Very disappointed with quality!

I have yet to try it for changing tires or removing seized bolts, but it looks nice, runs nice, nicely balanced with 5 Ah battery, its not a light tool but its not excessively heavy or uncomfortable to hold or use, it will replace my 12v corded impact wrench.
