I am very happy with this blower, and it is a joy to use
Initial impression was very good for this blower. It's very sturdy, and seems to be made of high quality materials. There are no wobbles, creaks, or rattling. The trigger pull is very light and doesn't have any weird catches or roughness. The trigger is a great distance from the handle! It's not too close, and it's not too far away so you have to extend your finger(s) very far to reach it. Also, you can hold it with 3 fingers (and your thumb...), pull the trigger with your index finger, and the handle does not touch your other fingers. I have average size hands for a man. Flow control is very good, and I am able to blow a small amount of air or a lot of air with easy modulation. I tend to blow less than I was intending, which means less chance of unexpected dust in the face. Initially I thought the brass threads on the inlet were irregular, because the adapter I tried to put in didn't thread in. It felt like trying to thread an SAE bolt into metric threads. I was worried. But I decided to try with a wrench and see what happened. Thankfully it tightened down without much effort. I think the first thread of the brass fitting at the inlet was simply squished a little, which made it not want to thread in. After tightening, there are no air leaks. The end on mine is very firm. At first I thought it was plastic, but I think it's just a very hard rubber. I have not yet decided if this will be a problem or not. Time will tell. I couldn't tell how to remove the 'rubber' end, but I didn't try very hard, and have no reason to remove it other than curiosity. It's also worth mentioning that the whole end piece, aluminum and rubber, rotates. Conclusion: I am very happy with this blower, and it is a joy to use. **If you found this review helpful, please mark it as helpful by clicking "Yes" below

Good unit, works well, like the green color.
I am not completely in love with it, but it does work well and I like the green--- easy to locate. Unlike my Cornwell unit, this one does not have a pin to hold the fitting into the bottom of the handle. I have used these before without issue, but I do prefer when they do have the pin as for me it is peace of mind that it cannot pull out of the bottom. It also blows well, but does feel restricted to some others that I have.

READ the other negative reviews and note the high number of "failures" posted over the last three months. I purchased Astro 1718 in April, and the Astro 1717 (Green) hoping it would be of better quality. It wasn't. I run a business that sources vehicle parts for a broad range of shops - obsolete parts, discontinued parts, and when I'm unable to locate NOS parts - used parts. In those instances where used parts are sourced, those parts are cleaned and restore when necessary prior to delivery. Many of these parts are unique/one-of-a-kind, and this is one of many tools used in cleaning/restoring those parts. As the old saying goes, all good things eventually come to an end.... ... which appears to be the case with the Astro Pneumatic air blow guns (1717 and 1718). What Amazon is now shipping no longer looks like, nor matches the product description - and the product packaging is much different. The "item" that is currently being shipped appears to be a counterfeit knock-off that looks identical to the Neiko4" Angled Nozzle Air Blow Gun w/ Comfort Grip Handle , green in color with an "Astro 1717" label slapped on it. This item, and BOTH the 1718s I received are clearly cheap Chinese made knock-offs. First, this green blow gun is identical to the Astro 1718 (which is RED, not orange). Second, the tip is NOT easily removable, as implied in the product description above. While the tip *can* be removed, it is a screw-on tip that takes considerably longer to remove/replace than the previous spring-clip tip that [was] previously used. Third, the threads for the screw-on tip are poorly machined, and a white paste-type sealer has been used to prevent air from leaking around the threads.... ... well, that is until the first time you remove the tip and screw it back on. Good luck from there. I will post a few imagines of the current "product" shortly, so everyone can see the differences between what is shown above and what is currently being shipped.

Fairly cheap to purchase and works great. The nozzle comes off for general air blasts and with the nozzle it gives you pinpoint air blasts. Especially good for cleaning out sun roof drains, which is why I purchased it in the first place!

5 years later and still strong
I have used this air gun for five years of working in a mechanic shop that has been used and abused by everyone and it still works perfectly and feels great till this day. Truly impressed since the quality on Amazon is never that great.

I picked this tool up for the rubber tip and easy to use handle, for what it is, it does the job , the plastic appears good - i do hope the handle holds up over time.
