VERY SHORT AIR HOSE

The air hose that connects to the bonnet is only about 2ft. long. You must lay the hard case behind you on the couch in order for it to be long enough to use comfortably. The bonnet is smaller and tighter than I would like. If you were to use large rollers and had a lot of hair you would have problems with the size of this bonnet. Putting it on and off knocks a few rollers out of your hair. If you're old enough to remember using one of these the older style bonnet dyer , they're definitely superior to the new Conair dryer. It's my opinion that they've cheapened it and of course charging more. I mostly use it to process hair color faster, so I kept it. One highlight of this dryer is that it does get very hot on the high setting. It's definitely better than nothing but requires you to make accommodations to use it comfortably. It must be placed within 2 feet of your head. The bonnet runs a bit small for those who use larger rollers or with quite a bit if hair. A positive comment it's very lightweight and would be easy to travel with . The hard case also makes it difficult to push the hose back into the case. It goes back in via the small side area of the case. It's easy to scrape up your knuckles on the hard, sharp plastic while trying to fit the hose,bonnet and power cord back into the small storage area.

The draw strings

There are two draw strings. One on the hose to expand the length of the hose for use. Pull it to shorten the hose to fit in the case when not in use. The other is on the bonnet. Once you put it on tighten it to secure it on your head.

Hard to lock

I had a complicated time getting the bonnet attachment to lock to the hose but once I did this thing is great I can do household chores or work/study while I dry my hair

Nifty

I used this style dryer in the 60’s and 70’s. I was happy to discover they are still around. I wet my curly hair and let it dry naturally then fluff it up. Sometimes it’s too cold to let it dry so this dryer works great. I put it on my head while I put my make-up on and I am ready to fluff and go

OK, Not Great, Cap Doesn't Fill Evenly, Hose Uncomfortable

Remember the bonnet hair dryers from the Age Of Good Things? In the round case with a long hose and a cap that fit perfectly and covered your whole head and didn't have holes around the edge to let the warm air out? THIS isn't it. But it's ok. I've opened and used it or else I would return it. The hose is about 3 feet long and somehow, where the hose attaches, it's uncomfortable on your neck. This Cap is 2 layers and hat box shaped, the short hose pulls it to one side, and it ends up crooked on your head with part of your head not getting warm air on it unless you keep moving it, or sit very still. Not very relaxing. But it may be the best of what's available in the Age Of Not Very Good Things.

Pros: * Heats up fast * Distributes heat evenly throughout the bonnet. * Bonnet is large enough to cover entire head with rollers. * Lightweight * Perfect size for travel Cons: * Hose is not long enough to keep comfortable distance. So if you want to read a book the unit will be under your arms. Good luck trying to relax while using. * Hose will not stay connected to bonnet. It does not lock into place I have fine, thin, wavy hair so it probably would have dried faster if the hose stayed connected.

Great product

I am astounded that some customers say the hose comes off. Not at all! You need to grab the coupling firmly and twist. The hose clicks in place and is as solid as can be. The whole unit works perfectly, and is certainly NOT more noisy than a regular hair dryer. I’ve used it at least 20 times now with great results and definitely recommend this product for the price. Great little unit!

Perfect for Aphogee protein treatments & colour processing

I think the bad reviews might be linked to a bad seller or something. This is the only bonnet dryer available that is less than $200 and doesn't look like it belongs in a salon. It's not that loud -certainly not painful or unpleasant - quieter than my usual hairdryer, if I'm honest. PROS: Bonnet connects tightly to hose - it's a turn and click thing - if you are reading this thinking the hose falls off, try again and feel for the ridge where it clicks in to the bonnet's port. This is the one thing the bad reviews state and so I think they all got a fake product or something. It's sturdy as heck. Not too hot - I had it on Medium for an Aphogee deep conditioning treatment and the airflow is great, worked perfectly - much better than me aiming the dryer at my head and hoping to cover the whole area for 5 minutes! The treatment worked better than it ever has - the free airflow & moderate heat seem to have really got the protein into my hair. For this reason alone, I'm happy with this purchase. LIGHT - it looks heavy but the case is ABS plastic and even with slight arthritis in my wrists I can pick it up and carry around from room to room no problem. CONS: hose length is fine but would be cool if you could purchase a longer one, or get a snap-on extension. It would be great to be able to place this behind me on a bookshelf and put it in a soundproof box so I can watch TV while drying. I'll work on MacGuyvering that myself.. tl;dr: It's good; don't fret the purchase.

I love the mobility that this type of hairdryer offers!! I can very easily multitask while drying my hair The bonnet is truly large enough to get over those large rollers and it dries very well - I use the highest heat and it’s not uncomfortable Love it!

Perfect for curly haired girls

The media could not be loaded. This is perfect deep conditioning if you have curly hair. 15-20 minutes with it on and you get the results needed. I feel the high heat should be higher. It doesn’t over heat or burn you if you put it together right so make sure the hose is tight. Skip the instructions in the box they are useless. Go on YouTube and search up reviews they will give you a better idea of what to do. The locking mechanism for the hose to the bonnet is the only tricky part. I suggest twisting the hose into the bonnet until it clicks. It should stay then. I don’t like the heat brush for curly/kinky hair types. I tried to blow out my sister’s type 4 hair with it and wasn’t as effective as others I have tried. They could have made it better. Other than that it’s perfect for the price and a good investment for your hair.

Generally Great

Bg: I have coarse, high porosity, medium-high density, relaxed hair that is naturally 4b/c. I use this to dry a roller set. It can fit under a head full of rollers but more so if you follow the whole "small rollers at the back and bottom, big rollers up top" thing. Not a problem for me. It dries my hair fairly well and in good but average time. For a full roller set, sit under this for AT LEAST 90mins on high heat and maybe the last 20-30min on cool. You can take breaks. I recommend draping a towel over your shoulders and putting a towel headband on to ease the discomfort of heat and the elastic. Overall great product, useful for rollers, deep conditioning, and hot oil treatments, and a wonderful tool for anyone on a healthy hair journey.
