Get this to input joy in your life
If you want to have a good time. Buy one of these and play tag with your teen kids, i run it at 50% so as not to hurt them and give myself a challenge. this thing blazes when you open it up and have the big batteries. I have not changed out the teeth since im not racing and mostly bashing. Took it to the skate park a bunch of times and broke the back and front towers. Its better they broke then bending up the chassis. Love this little buggy.

First Impression of my First RC Car: That'll do
If you're new to the surface RC hobby as I am, perhaps this isn't the best choice for your first vehicle, but it's certainly the most fun choice. She goes like stink, boys, and she's pretty eager to do so on her hind legs. I follow a lot of RC maker youtube channels, especially channels that experiment with DIY stuff, 3D printing, and unusual vehicle designs. In any case, the other day I was suggested a video about an Arrma truck, so I watched it. Then I watched a bunch more. Long story short, yesterday a Vorteks in Purple arrived. I flew racing drones for a number of years, so I'm not entirely unfamiliar with RC, but the last time I operated a surface vehicle was probably the early 90s, and it was from Radio Shack, so I'm completely new. I thought the orientation-steering thing would translate from aircraft. Oddly, it doesn't seem to have, but I was pretty quick to figure it out. I still favor turning left though; I did in the air, and I do on the ground. It was nice out this evening, so after scouting around on google maps for a large, disused parking lot, I took her out for her first street bash. I started at 25%, putted around a little bit, then went to 50%, and she started to come alive. Said "what the hell?" set her to 100% and sent it. Like trying to steer an angry bull. Throttle control is key, and I have none of it. Though I was better at the end of the session than the beginning. As for short-term durability, I bashed off of a few curbs and had two tumbles through the grass... no problems. Can't yet speak to long-term, but this is a pretty tough vehicle. Sure, stuff is going to break. Parts on these things are consumables. From my first impression, though, better than most. So, should you buy one? If you have experience, absolutely. If you are new, this is a bit like buying an R6 as your first motorcycle. If you have some sense about you, you'll probably be fine... if not, things can get squirrely pretty fast, but man is it a hoot.

Arrma tough
This is my first new arrma rc, out of the box it is beautiful and ready to run (excluding batteries and a charger) so far I have bashed this rc with little damage compared to other rc cars I've had. One note to any new owner of an arrma rc is, make sure you look over the car before use and make sure all the screws are tight. Great car for the money!

3s line can't be beat for the $
I've had this car since mid 2021 and I've got to say..it's amazing. So fast and tough. She soars through the air like a majestic peacock. A mistake A made early on is thinking I could do better than Arrma at deciding which shocks to use. I couldn't. Arrma nailed it on every one of the 3s line cars I have. Regular wear and tear things like the little plastic washer type things which cushion the steering arms and bearings need regular checking. Check your wheels before EVERY run. Apply semi permanent thread lock on EVERY metal on metal contact screw. Never use thread lock on plastic. It'll melt it and render the threads useless. No need to grease the diffs as Arrma does a fine job making sure their cars are shipped out right. My ONLY gripe is with the obviously overpowered and seriously under built steering servo. Arrma is well aware of this defect by now but they continue to waste money replacing countless warrantied steering servos. As far as I'm aware, every blx model ships out with them. Do yourself a favor and throw in a decent brushless, or coreless servo once the stock one shorts out. I use the pictured SPT 5835W-180 brushless 35kg servo available on Amazon for 35 bucks. It's quite fast and perfectly suited for general bashing. It's in 3 of my Arrma cars now. None of them are currently using the stock servo. All of the 3s line are super easy to service and upgrade. The motor mount detaches easily with a bit of prying. Dirt in the chassis will make this process harder so a good thing to install is the Velcro screen cover also available on Amazon. They are priceless to me as they make cleaning a much easier job. The plastic body shell is very durable and has held up for six months of bashing and crashing and tumbling. I have had to replace the front shocks from head crashes that broke the threaded end of the shaft right off in the suspension arm. Although they broke, I still think they're the best shocks for this car. They're hard to find so in the meantime I've got some after market replacements. For Less than 400 bucks, I think you'd be hard-pressed to find a better, or more capable RC car. The Arrma Vorteks was my first serious RC and I'm super happy that I got lucky enough to stumble on one of the finest cars in the hobby. Every Arrma car I have is an absolute blast and I'm sticking with this company based on the great experience I've had since buying these vehicles. Arrma stands behind their products.

The Vorteks is a BEAST
This thing rips, I have nothing but good things to say after 3 months of absolutely beating on it. This is the best all around car in the 3s line, it can do it all. It's super fast on the street and it can bash hard off-road. I send mine off huge jumps (BMX track) almost daily and have only broke an arm one time when I hit a cinder block (can't blame the car for that). Watch the videos about what to do before running it, setting the steering end points is probably the reason I'm still on the stock servo, still on the stock composite spur gear too. Arrma tough for sure.

Looks nice drives nice just does not hold up to the durability test
It looks really nice. It drives really nice. It’s fast. But you can damage and destroy it really quick.
