Good product
I have used this product for many years for both my pool and hot tub. The results are reliable. Please note that the thing that shows ideal ranges is not included with this product. I had it from a previous one. Taking the old bottle out and inserting a new one is very easy and convenient. I have included a picture of what my test strip looks like after dipping it in my hot tub so you can see how easy it is to compare.

"Select Connect" is a big improvement!
The "Select Connect" app is a BIG improvement over the old 'is it purple or blue?' quandary! Select Connect strips use your smartphone to judge the color readings for pH, hardness, chlorine/bromine, alkalinity and cyanuric acid. Far easier to order, use, and store than liquid kits. Plus, it suggests what chemicals you need to add to improve the water's balance. The app needs much improvement in calculating an 'irregular' shaped pool's capacity like my figure 8 plus spa combo, but if you already know the gallon capacity of your pool from the manufacturer/contractor, you can extrapolate from there. And once you buy your first strips WITH the gray background and app installation instructions, then you can save money just buying replacement strips and refill your first kit. AND if you still prefer to make your own visual measurements, you can still use the old-fashioned color chart.

Easy and accurate
Great product- very easy to monitor water quality - accurate readings every time.

Recom.ended by my spa vendor.
I use this product to monitor the chemistry of my hot tub. If you down load the app that goes with the kit it provides you with the amounts of chemicals to be added (the recipe) for adjusting the water chemistry. So far it has been right on the money as compared with professional test systems.

Quick way to test your spa or pool water
I use Aquachek (there's no 'c') strips to test my spa's water every few days. I'm very happy with these strips, and find them much faster and easier than the other options I've looked at. The bottom of this review explains what the different chemicals do if you're not familiar with them. Pro: + Easy to use: dip them into your pool to wrist depth, set them flat and count to 15 (seconds), then compare colors. + Includes all the tests I care about. Hardness, total and free chlorine, PH, alkalinity, and as a bonus Cyanuric Acid which doesn't apply to my spa. + Colors are easy to read in twilight and lighter. + Includes a pamphlet with a color chart if you lost yours Con: - Colors continue to change after the first minute, so you really do want to look at the colors within the first minute or two. What the different readings are used for: TOTAL HARDNESS tells you if you need to add or remove chemicals to make the water harder. Too little hardness and metal in your pool releases minerals. Too much hardness, and it can gunk things up. Usually this is only checked when adding significant water to the pool. TOTAL CHLORINE / BROMINE and FREE CHLORINE together tell you whether you need to 'shock' the pool to free up bound chlorine / bromine, or whether you just need to add a bit more to replace evaporated chlorine. If you add too much and get a high reading, leave pumps running with the cover off to encourage faster evaporation of the chlorine. I got my 800 gallon spa from 20 ppm to 5 ppm in just a few hours this way. pH and ALKALINITY can affect stability of chlorine levels, so good to keep them where they belong. CYANURIC ACID is (I think) an additive to help keep sunlight from decaying your chemicals as quickly. My spa is in a gazebo so I don't use it. Overall, I like these test strips and have been using them for a year or two.

Perfect! Just Use Them Correctly
I purchased these because the slightly cheaper ones I bought at the store weren't giving me the right readings. No matter how much PH+ I put in the pool it never changed. So I doubted everything else. When I purchased these for cross reference I saw right away the colors were darker. And the hardness was much easier to read. The bottle congress with the chart so there's no need to buy the other one they have unless you want the plastic sleeve that connects to the bottle to place the chat in. I've had these for a couple weeks now. Yesterday I went to the pool store completely confused how my entire pool went from sparking clear, to green in just an hour and a half! I doubted the strips. So they did a water test in a machine connected to their computer and it gave me a read out. Every result the computer gave me was almost exactly what these test strips told me. I am very impressed since so many pool stores will tell you they are junk. This pool store actually promotes buying these exact strips. HOW TO USE CORRECTLY: They told me to take a bowl and dunk it down into the water about half your arms length and place the filled bowl on the counter. Then dip the strip in the bowl quickly. For half a second. NOT 1 or 2 seconds. Doing more than 1/2 a second will dilute the pads too and remove the chemical on the pads and you will get the wrong color. EDIT: I shocked my pool last night after getting back from the pool store so the chlorine levels won't match the paper they printed. I took the photos this morning.

Best of the pool 'dip strip' testers
I've been using these for years and have tried others. I feel these are the best of the dip strips, I've used them then went to the pool store with a water sample to be tested and they were 'in the ballpark' / close enough. This purchase in particular was a good deal, two bottles for only $20 but be aware that it doesn't come with the color comparison chart you would already have to have one from a previous purchase.

Easy to use
Only drawback is sometimes the color is darker in the middle and really light around the edges making it difficult to know if the lighter color is the reading or if the darker color is the reading. Other than that, it's a decent quick test.

Can't recommend.
Its fairly clear in the description that these test strips require the app to read. So the low rating is not based on that fact. The app itself is rather poor. Aquachek wants pool information to advise what chemicals are required. I would highly recommend to never adjust pool chemicals based on any test strip. Use your pool store or Taylor kit to achieve accurate readings and adjust accordingly. Test strips are good for quick review if anything is way out of range. I compared these strips against Aquarius strips and readings from Taylor test kit. Aquarius strips were a little closer to the Taylor results and cost less. I wouldn't recommend the Aquachek strips. Happy Swimming!!

No color reference for test strip
I have no “color” reference to indicate what the test strips are telling me. The diagram is in black and white. No color reference at all . So the test strip goes in water, comes out with various colors and no idea what each color means as there is no reference

Totally useless!
the bands are nice...but there's no chart to compare it with !?!?!? Normally there is a color chart on the side of the bottle so we can compare the color code with the stripe, but without it, it is totally useless ! Very stupid to sell this product,
