Nothing bad to say. This thing is rugged and well designed. Just ease into it - wearing too much weight you realize it and start feeling light headed. Ordered an extra set of 6 weights, but it comes with 6x 3 lb weights. Honestly, that's plenty to start with since most other vests stop at 10 lbs., but I wanted to make sure I had them available upfront. Fully loaded you get two rows of 6 pockets both in the front and the back, 24 total x 3 lbs weights you can get it to 72 lbs, which hats off to you if you can manage that. The weights are solid metal similar enough to a bar of soap in size, for a rough approximation. If you're crafty you could probably figure out your own weights out of smooth rocks or whatever but in a bag or something so they don't skip out, the pockets are open at the top and there's one big flap over them all, but smaller things would probably get out - you need to fill up the pocket. The metal bars are coated to not rust, slide in and out nicely, and not move around - they are perfect, just a little spendy. It lays comfortably, very rugged material even for the pockets which apparently isn't very common. The weights are snug in the pockets and have a large heavy Velcro flap that closes over the top - they aren't going anywhere whatever you do in any direction, any force. The shoulders have thick Velcro to attach the front to the back, so you can adjust it to your frame. With standard 6 weights, it held fine by itself, but with extra weights the Velcro would start to loosen up then I noticed the extra straps and double D rings to go over the shoulders to keep it together, basically use the Velcro to get the fitting right then strap it to keep it in place with weight. There are other straps to go around that will keep it from flopping around. Run, flip, jump, whatever - it'll be there for you. The head opening is pretty big, which is a good thing. It lifts on and off pretty easily. Setting it down it folds over in logical places even with the weights in, so it stores nicely overnight. There's no way this would hide under a shirt, but hopefully that goes without saying. Starting off, take it easy and wear it around the house to get a feel for how long you can wear it & how much weight. Too much can make it hard to breathe & make you lightheaded. This is perfect to grow into, take your time and do it smart, this thing will be there for the journey over years, I'm confident.

Sturdy and comfortable

I have used the vest a few times now for rucking/hiking/walking. So far so good. It is sturdy, comfortable, and makes for a challenging workout. Weights are easy to load and unload. The zipper makes it easy to get in and out of. My only complaint would be that I ordered the 40lb vest, which came with an uneven number of weights so if and when I load all of the weight it will not be balanced front to back.

MiR - great product, STELLAR customer servive

I use for hiking, 40lbs adds enough challenge for me! Weight distribution is easy; little pockets for the weights to slip in & velcro shut. Sturdy under arm & over the shoulder velcro straps, complete range of arm motion while wearing it. I went with the zippered front so only had to mess with the velcro once. I initially ordered the short vest, but it turned out to be too small (I wear a 50R suit coat, for reference). Customer service was cool af. I sent them a few pics & explained it didn't fit, and a larger sized vest was otw the next day, no upcharge. These folks know how to do it.

UPDATE July 6, 2016 I have been using the vest for 2 months. I am updating my rating from a 4 to a 5. While it is annoying that the vest is not washable it has not yet grown “ripe”. I use the vest for workouts three times a week in which I do four sets of exercises with a total rep count for each set. The four sets all include - Chest, Triceps - Back, Biceps - Legs, Glutes - Shoulders - Core, Abs - Conditioning When finished with four sets I complete any reps not attained with more sets without the vest. I can definitely tell the difference in strength afforded by using the vest. I highly recommend this product. ************* Original Review I recommend this product. I not only believe that it is helping with my workouts, I have measurable results that tell me it helps. For example, I note that I can now do freestyle floor press handstands which I have not been able to do for a while. I gave the vest a 4 because it is not machine washable. Pros: 1) The first several times I used the vest I was not impressed. However, I took some time to adjust it better and have gotten used to it. 2) While not as comfortable as a “true” vest it does stay in place very well. I am able to do all varieties of chins/pullups, hanging ring work, pushups, jumping squats, dips, TRX exercises, and handstand presses. I am also able to wear the vest reasonably comfortably while doing plyometrics which involves a lot of jumping and movement. 3) The vest has a wide range of weight from 3# to 50#. At 60 years old I will probably not be using more than the 50# very quickly. However, there is room to add more weights (up to 60#) if I do get ambitious. Cons 1) It is expensive, especially when you add shipping. If you don’t like it you are out a lot of money. 2) I am average height, weight, body type, and with less body fat than most 60 year olds. So, not too skinny and not too fat. It seems to me that the vest might possibly be small or tight on someone who is larger than average. But, maybe the adjustments you can make would allow it to fit correctly. 3) The one big drawback is that you cannot wash the vest in the washer. If you are doing any type of real workout you will be sweating. I hope this thing does not get too “ripe”. 4) The online instructions were okay – not great. However, I do admit that I do not like reading instructions.

Ganz gut!

Für meinen Bruder bestellt. Er ist damit sehr zufrieden und schwört auf ein effektives Training damit. Gut verarbeitet und kam viel früher als geplant an. Wegen der Klettverschlüsse (keine Schnallen) und der zu hoch angebrachten Gewichtstaschen, leider nur 4 Sterne. Diese hindern bei bestimmten Übungen manchmal den Ablauf etwas.
