Doesn’t work on all cabinets
I was able to use the stencil for cabinet doors no problem, but the one for the drawer wasn’t quite long enough to reach the middle. Either way, still worked out well.

Be careful and take your time
This product did what I needed. Don't expect miracles, you may have to slightly improvise. Every cabinet is a little different, no pre-made template will work perfectly on every cabinet, and it is unreasonable to expect it to do so. In my case I needed a 1/16" spacer between the lip and my drawers for the template to center correctly. I accomplished this by cutting a piece of cardboard to go between the template lip and the drawer top. Others mentioned that they drilled their own holes. The bottom line is, the template worked reasonably well, and with a little care, met my needs. My suggestions to improve the template, were I the maker, is to come up with a few small clip-on spacers in 1/16" increments to fit the lip of the template. (1/16", 1/8", 3/16") That would make the template a 10/10. Also, I would produce a one or two-page guide on how to position cabinet hardware and include it. These slight, low-cost modifications would vastly improve the product. Even if it cost a little more, it would be worth it. A few things I learned: When measuring to find the center of the drawer to mark at the top, place a piece of painter's masking tape on the drawer top to mark on. In the case where you have shallower drawers positioned over deeper ones, do not attempt to vertically center the pull on the deeper drawer. Position the pull the same distance from the top on all drawers. In the case where you have a very wide drawer (32"-36") on which you need to install two pulls, with two cabinets underneath, position the hardware so that it is centered over the cabinet doors below. It does not matter if you have several drawers of varying widths like this: keep the rule. No one will notice, the pulls look best over the cabinet door centerline. Knobs should be positioned 2.5"-3" from the bottom or top of cabinet doors, use your judgment for aesthetics. After using a sharpie to mark the cabinets, and verifying you are happy with the positions, go back to all marks and punch a hole by hand using an awl. This is important! Cabinets are hard and have slick finishes that will make your drill bit tend to slip. Using the awl will prevent this and allow the hole to be drilled far more precisely, which in turn will look more professional. Good luck.

Just used this to install pulls on every drawer and door in our kitchen cabinetry, as well as the cabinetry of three bathrooms. When I ordered this, I wrongly assumed that the drill bit would be something I would toss out immediately with the packaging. However it bit well into every cabinet and drilled true without fighting me! It's axis seems to be pretty dead on, so it doesn't wander and waver as many slightly bent cheap bits tend to do. If these are made very cheaply, I may have simply lucked out with a perfect bit from an imperfect manufacturing process. The templates are as close to square and regular as I can discern by comparing them to my other squares, rulers, and tape measures. At some point I gave up trying to find microscopic flaws in them. These are for installing pulls after all. Not particle accelerator magnets. With just a little time, and triple checking my measurements with the templates, my install looks professional, and for a fraction of the price my cabinet maker wanted just to add pulls to the total job. If you have a DIY job, and aren't intending to install hundreds of cabinets and drill hundreds of holes, I can't see how you would go wrong with this cheap set. I do recommend that you verify the quality of the bit, and double check the measurements on the templates before you actually use them. If either is off, send it back to Amazon. It simply makes sense to verify a tool, especially a cheap one, BEFORE USE. Nothing is perfect. I would give this 4.5 stars if I could. Some simple instructions and diagrams would be nice for those who don't know how to use these. Minus a half star for that omission. Otherwise this purchase was far better than expected.

Time saver
There are any number of ways a person could go about marking cabinets for new knobs or pulls. I've seen many sources that show how to make your own template for next to nothing. I personally considered that option. For me it ultimately came down to time versus money. I purchased the Amerock guides after looking at similar items in store and watching some videos online. Once I received the templates and measured my drawers and doors, I found for proper placement I actually needed to modify the template by drilling a new hole in both. So be aware that could be the case for you as well. But after the first door, the other doors were marked in just a few short minutes. The drawers took a little longer because you need to measure for the center-line. But marking the hole on the drawers was definitely faster with a template once the center-line was marked. With one person marking and one person drilling, the task of marking some 40 doors and drawers took about an hour, including the time to determine the holes and make the modification to the template. This kit includes a drill bit designed to specifically for the task of drilling cabinet holes. It might not be the most expensive bit. But it served it purpose on my project and took some of the guess work out of drilling. I mean I did not have to determine the right size or run to the store to look at bits. All and all, I was very pleased. If you are looking to install knobs or pulls, I think this has the potential to be a time saver for you with the caveat that you might need to modify it to get the right fit..

This works for its intended purpose, although it is rather small, so for my extra long drawer pulls, I ended up needing to do more math than I wanted to. For standard, shorter pulls and handles, it works perfectly.

Adaptable
This tool is awesome. I couldn't use it as indicated (I have the wooden grab bar in the cabinets) but I was able to adapt it. Kitchen looks great.
