Heavy weight, won't easily tip over, long length velvet rope
The Amazon Commercial Velvet Ropes Stanchions are well made with heavy weighted bases that are difficult to tip over. The finish is highly polished (I ordered the silver with red velvet ropes). Assembly is very quick and easy. The 6' long rope is great for a larger entrance area- solid, weighty, and clean stitching, with secure hooks on each end. The items came flat packed in cardboard with cardboard blocking between some pieces and bubble wrap around most pieces. I had to deduct one star because one of the metal bases was dented on arrival. It is mostly visible on the side and less so on the top, but still quite disappointing for a bigger ticket item. Hopefully they don't collect more dents as they get more use. These would be a great feature for community events, parties, haunted houses, weddings, or to cordon off an area in a shop. I would recommend them.

This is such a great party prop.. completes our red carpet theme and is very sturdy and well made. Easy to assemble and transport.

Got some skeptical looks when this arrived, but we've already used them 6 or 7 times
Wife and daughter thought I was crazy for picking a set of these up, but we've already had occasion to use them about a half dozen times for school and work events, and a real estate showing. It's amazing how often you need to be able to tell people "Nah ah ah, stand back" or "You don't belong here" and how rarely you have something like rope on hand to make that clear. Also, these just look a whole lot better/professional than two orange cones/office chairs with a paper sign taped to them. ***Assembly*** There's really not much to it beyond connecting the posts to the very heftily weighted bases. Each post-head has the four expected sides creating a lot of flexibility for future additions of other pylons for more complex queue-ing configurations. It was quick and easy to put them together. ***Sturdiness*** They're heavy enough at the base and with a big enough footprint that they don't tip over easily, which is all they need to do. ***Durability*** Six events in and nothing has broken, even with a few kids doing that thing kids like to do where they pull one of the dividing ribbon's all the way out and let the retractor reel it back in. A few kids even "Red Rover-ed" them before being told to stop and besides a few scuff marks, no breakage. ***Overall Value*** Getting this much use out of these so quickly suggests we'll be using them a lot more in the future as well. Storage has been easy, as they've just been sitting in a corner in the garage (they're just too heavy to keep lugging them up and down from the basement). If you do any public-facing work or local community event planning, you'll be surprised how often these things come in handy. Yeah, I've gotten a few "Why the heck do you own a pair of stanchions?" looks when I say I can bring them along, but after they're in place and have proven their usefulness a lot of those same people were giving that slow nod of "Okay, that actually was very helpful."

These stanchions are just what I hoped for; they are sturdy, heavy enough to stay upright forever, no dents or scratches, and a nice finish. The rope is not the softest velvet, but it is pretty good (firm with good stitching) .... it doesn't seem quite as high end as the stanchions do but it is still fine. I pulled on the ends hard and the hooks are attached quite firmly. The hooks themselves are good and sturdy. There are instructions for assembly and they have drawings for each step. Putting the stanchions together is a little awkward as the bottom parts are pretty heavy but assembly is straight forward and I didn't run into any trouble with it. Checking prices on the internet I see that this is less expensive than lots of similar out there and since the quality is very nice and the shipping was quick (and free) I recommend these!

Sturdy!
I like to put these in my parking spot behind my car and confuse people. In all seriousness, a surprisingly useful thing to have around for parties, garage sales, etc, and not just random ridiculousness. A very polite and professional way to say 'hey, don't go this way'.

AmazonCommercial Velvet Ropes Crowd Control Stanchions, 2-Pack, Gold THESE are HEAVY!!! Very well made but very heavy. I ordered the gold ones and the metal is high quality, the crushed red velvet material on the rope that connects the two poles is attached with pins inside the metal casing and has 2 large metal clips on both ends. The entire connecting rope piece also has some weight to it. There are only 2 large screws that attaches the poles to the base and it comes with it's own fastening tool. Very simple. Everything comes wrapped in bubble wrap so it's all well protected. Classy and show ready!
